  1. Past hour
  2. The sledding scene is probably the only one that is just off to me. Then again it ends in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I used to work directly next to that Wal-Mart and shopped in it regularly in Frisco,CO. The only way a mountain scene would have made any sense there is for them to be coming off the side of Copper Mountain behind the Wal-Mart. Just one of those suspension of disbelief scenes in a movie full of them.
  3. that is my point. I should have also pointed out that Bama is at #10. They are in by the skin of their teeth right now. It is not like the committee ranked them lock they are a lock for the playoffs and I cannot imagine the committee moving them up based on the Auburn performance. That said if they put A&M behind Bama tonight, the single digit chance for Texas is dead.
  4. Klatt makes a good case for Texas at the 32 minute mark and a solution to moving the playoffs out of the board room.
  5. This is just another case for expanding the playoff.
  6. this was the first time i really noticed SGA, his freshman/only year at UK. he was so badass. totally took over the game and was the best player on the court. i was such a big fan of his…just like i was at one point with russ and harden. i really wish he would cut this shit out so that i could remove him from that list and just admire his game again. he’s such a badass, it’s so unnecessary for him to pull this crap every time out.
  7. When the sec goes to 9 conference games, those extra 8 losses won’t be able to all land on the shitty teams. Unless the sec gets more shitty teams and looks like the b10. Add in another legislated p4 ooc game on top of that (they can’t all schedule Purdue and Maryland) and there will be more 3 loss sec teams and fewer 2 loss teams in the real near future. So this will be a moot point as soon as next season. ——— The loss to Florida is only mitigated by better play. The loss to tosu could have been mitigated by better play or by sxheduling Ohio u instead of Ohio state. either one going from loss to win puts us comfortably in the tournament.
  8. While I don’t think we are getting in, I think this is probably the only path for us.
  9. I’d rather have Boosie out here spelling his name, but this is a fun development nevertheless.
  10. Every single aggy I interacted with pre-game had supreme confidence in the outcome. Damn shame I didn't encounter any of them post-game.
  11. I have been someone who thinks that Lane is, on balance, good for cfb and brings a somewhat dumber version of Leachness to the game. i don't really care about him going to lsu from ole miss too terribly much...though I still can't believe that this year of all years, where no one is really all that good in the playoff and ole miss has just as good a chance as anyone, that he wouldn't have navigated the process a bit better. But two things kind of jump out at me...one is that if you just watched how things went down with Kelly, how in the ever loving fuck can you ever get in bed with these scumbags? Louisianans, while entertaining to observe like zoo animals, are the lowest form of life on the continent...the entire state is effectively one big racketeering joke. From the lsu perspective, I am not looking at what Lane did at Ole Miss and FAU, I am looking at what he did at Tenn and usc as they are more comparable jobs. ole miss is like texas tech in that you can get away with being kooky and a troll and all that. Not sure it works at lsu. Guess we will see. It is completely true that you can throw a rock in Louisiana and hit four NFL defensive linemen. But it is not like that was not true at USC as well. We will see.
  12. This is kind of what Ohio State, Oregon, and Tennessee benefited from last season. It's unavoidable. CCG is high risk and high reward. If you're from a good conference, most of the time you should be good enough that even if you lose you won't drop out of the playoff. However, if you underperform in such a game while being a bubble team? Why should the committee ignore that? Surely there is precedent in the men's basketball tourney where a bubble team shits the bed in their conference tourney and gets left out for that reason. It makes less sense to ignore on-field evidence of a team's quality than it would to "punish" a team who makes a CCG for demonstrating that they are not one of the ten/twelve/whatever "best" at large teams.
  13. I would love to see what they do if Bama is completely non-competitive and the game is essentially over by the 2nd quarter. Would be interesting for sure.
  14. Pete Drake is not walking through that door?
  15. If we keep having seasons like this, better OOC matchups will come. It makes perfect sense not to schedule us up to this point. Texas I can understand, A&M doesn't schedule us because they're afraid of being run through on national TV like we did in most of our big 12 matchups. It's all kind of part of building up the program.
  16. they shouldn't have lost to a "much worse than Florida", Florida State...or I think that is how this discussion goes but I could be mis-remembering as a famous UT alum once said.
  17. He will if he finishes 5th or higher and Alex finishes out of the points. What's wild is the points flip: All 73 of Alex's points were scored before Baku - at that point, Carlos only had 16 points. 48 of Carlos' points have come in the past 7 races (and sprints). Talk about closing out the season strong!
  18. Plus fiddle players are a dime a dozen. What you really want is a good pedal steel player. Much harder to find.
  19. I know you don't actually need this explained to you...again...but... There's a difference between feeling slight contact and embellishing or flopping... and non-basketball moves designed to initiate the contact, act like you got shot--sometimes even when the planned contact doesn't happen--and making no effort whatsoever to make a basket. You can't honestly tell me that SGA isn't guilty of the latter more than anyone in the league by a wide margin. So instead of appreciating him for bringing back the mid-range, this shit--that, unlike Harden, his game doesn't even need--is what people talk about.
  20. He'd have to finish 5th and Albon outside the points.
  21. If we don't make the playoff, he shares the blame for not having his team ready for Florida. But still, glad to see he's not just sitting on his ass and is out there making a case.
  22. Chris Vannini: Three-loss Texas is alive, and so is the College Football Playoff debate of SEC dreams Sam Khan Jr.: Texas quarterback Arch Manning’s slow start, strong finish a microcosm of his season Stewart Mandel: Texas A&M’s implosion vs. Texas shows the Aggies still haven’t removed the longtime hex
  23. This, which is magnified by the 4-way tie atop the SEC. As of today all 4 are in the playoff. You can't "punish" Bama after they won the tiebreaker which was based on in-conference strength of schedule. "Hey, we're gonna make your SOS even harder by putting you in the CCG, but if you lose, you're out of the playoff while Ole Miss and Aggy with lesser in-conference SOS (the tiebreaker) are in." It not only punishes Bama for having a tougher schedule, it rewards Ole MIss and aggy for lesser in-conference SOS.
  24. Plus. that's the stupidest fucking song of all time: If yer gonna play in Texas You gotta have a fiddle in the band. That lead guitar is hot But not for a Louisiana man. Who gives a flying fuck what Louisiana man wants if you're playing in Texas?
