The dams are still there. Not much else. Lots of debris that will eventually be cleared out.

my 15 year old is a band rockstar not a leader rock star yet even though he was the only soph promoted but his musical ability is phenom. but for music he would be a gamer 24/7, and he still needs to crawl out of his shell (including more frequent showers and other personal hygiene activities). hoping soph year is it.

Idk if it’s 6 million that was just a guess. And before Caitlin there weren’t that many butts in the seat or eyeballs on the tele. This is a charity

"I don't have a $65 shirt and I have a job" I wish I could show this show to my kids.

Yup. I'm gonna need them to somehow get gimpy Paul George back on this roster before I can justify the use of the "contending" descriptor
-
We used to have something called the Theo principle, in which whatever bad thing you did as a kid recently, Theo would do that week on the show. Lie to his parents, get caught sneaking out, bad grades…. without fail. Long story short I think I’m about to drown.

Same here. Early on I never really worried about my daughter's "third space." Since elementary school she was active in sports year round, and then got into guitar. So when high school rolled around, she had a third and fourth space -- the basketball team and the classical guitar program. I was a little worried about my son. He was never into sports except for basketball, and he had nowhere near his sister's athletic ability. So I had some concern over whether he would find his "thing," and I didn't consider sitting in his room gaming all the time as a "thing." Unlike his sister who was playing guitar since second grade, he had expressed no interest in musical instruments, until he got to middle school, and then without any suggestion from me or his mom, told us he wanted to join the band and play flute. By eighth grade he was first chair in the flute section and marching with McCallum High. And he loves his band community, which has been so good for his social development.

that's an awesome story. this kiddo is pretty dialed in we will see what he comes up with, but this is great advice. do you remember what question you were answering that led to telling that story?

Clips are the same thing they've been for the last 10 yrs or so. Just a team with a bunch of big name players

What are ideas Pat Robertson was pushing on television up until Satan finally dragged him down to hell a couple of years ago? I agree with your point regarding the continuous existence of a majority class of imbeciles.

News reports said he killed his father because he was a federal employee, and that he thought all civil servants should be killed https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jul/14/pennsylvania-beheading-murder-terrorism

I know the reason for the bad idea part (hey!! @NowThis ) but a beer in the 80+ degree sand sounds like you have about 3 minutes to finish it before it get hot.

I *think* Part 3?? I know it wasn't the original.

Disenchantment works better as a binge, so maybe that’s where Groenig is going with it. -

Swimming against the current as land gets further and further away, until you are too tired to even float, is a horrible way to go.

What if that is actually toned down?

huh? you said what?

Whatever your kids write about - please don't let it be generic. I used to show horses. Started with quarter horses at the ranch, moved to Arabians in the city. Did shows all over the state and SW. Specifically two Arabian stallions. God they were beautiful. So before the shows everyone lines up in the "shoot" before the gates open. More mares that most, as they can be a little more tractable. Enter the stallion. I was in my early teens. English saddle. Double reigns. Full riding tux. I liked to get to the gate early, so as more contestants joined, we're surrounded. He's been around mares at many shows, so one must have been in heat? I don't know, as he'd never done this before. Boxed in, on a stallion, surrounded by mares. Still undefeated....he freaks his shit. Rears up ala The Lone Ranger. English saddle - meaning there's no horn to grad hold of like a Western. Falling off is not a great option in a narrow corral filled with agitated horses. Gate workers start yelling, gate flies open, this horny turd bolts into the arena, and pull the reigns to one side, jerk his head and get him going in a small circle. I caught up with one of the admission counselors years later, and he still remembered the essay. Wasn't the best writer, but it was a hell of a memorable story. Focus in the moment, make your world small, compartmentalize your actions, focus, and act. I sort of plagiarized an OODA loop before i knew what it really was. Better than Chief Brown Fingers, I guess......
