Soup, Stew, Chili, Gumbo (Cold weather eats)
jimmyjazz replied to Etexhorn13's topic in Food and Travel
Test run for the Ohio State game: New Mexico Hatch Chile stew. I used chicken. I perused a bunch of recipes and fussy reddit articles where people were arguing about what was authentic and what wasn't, realized I was looking at "Texas Red" chili all over again, so I rolled my own. Holy shit it was great. Onions, red bell pepper, roasted Hatch chiles, garlic, heavily seasoned baked chicken thighs, a little tomato, cilantro, chicken stock, a little shredded cheese and sour cream, wallah. I *might* add a jalapeno next time. Sorry for the unprofessional photography. It's football season, friends. -
It's truly fascinating to watch. "We must find these secret powerful rich pedophiles who were involved with Epstein!" "What about your cult leader, who was best friends with him for about 15 years, is in a million pictures with him, spoke glowingly of him, allegedly got a hand job from a 13 year-old at this place, famously has zero morals, clearly has a thing for underage girls including his own daughter, and was President when Epstein was killed errrrr I mean when he committed suicide." (blank stare) "We must find these secret powerful rich pedophiles who were involved with Epstein!"

Benjamin to Oregon, and he holds up a jersey with the #5 that looks like an upside down “2,” so he’s got that going against him. I’m sure we’ll “recruit thru the whistle..” -

Good news, everyone! We didn't lose any of our lead in the division!

well that and life is boring, so it's much more exciting to think that you're the protagonist in some fantasy taking down the secret pedophile cabal that runs the world. at the behest of some dudes who live in the philippines for totally legitimate reasons not related to pedophilia.

Key notes from Texas players after second practice of fall camp (247) -
a restaurant down here is a destination spot for bikers, with all sorts of "patriotic" shit. At noon every day, they play the Star Spangled Banner, and everybody is expected stop eating and stand up.

I’m honestly surprised he didn’t want to get her 50 cans of “Fart in a Can” instead.

I went through this a couple of years ago and I suspected side sleeping and the new soft mattresses was causing the shoulder pain. My shoulder would sink a little into the mattress and was like my shoulder was being compressed all night. Purchased another mattress, got a body pillow and stretched a lot and the pain disappeared within a month.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In

I feel similar about Christian Clark. He was a big question mark because of the Achilles, and mentions of him looking good have pretty much been glossed over. Either as unreliable at this stage of camp, or inconsequential i guess. -
I bet Santa came twice that night.

I mean, he's not wrong.

Damn, and I thought I held a grudge.

Epstein files update: Buying Ghislaine's silence

The qanon crowd exists BECAUSE they lack the curiosity to look critically. Of course they were unaware of empirical facts that were easy to look up. If they weren't, they wouldn't be qanon -
Beer 2025: sith_horn drinking more than the rest of us combined
sith_horn replied to HenryJames's topic in Food and Travel
I've no desire to try a peanut beer. Haven't totally ruled out IPA's, but the positive hit rate has been low for me. I generally haven't had good luck with unconventional ingredient or fruity beers, but not opposed to trying some. Pecan might be worth a shot, for instance. I tried Shiner Prickly Pear and wasn't impressed. Some years back I tried Shiner Wicked Ram IPA from one of their sampler 6-packs and liked it. They discontinued it -- go figure. I've been tempted to try Abita Amber, but frankly I'm unwilling to pay the premium they charge over local craft brewers. I don't mind paying more for more expensive to brew craft beers, like Commissar or a Triple. Likewise for German, Belgian, UK or Czech beers, but not going to do it for an amber lager from hop, skip and a jump away Louisiana.
