  1. Past hour
  2. Our eldest did not have a great first encounter 2 years ago. He's chill with Santa now, but even today if he spots the HEB Buddy, he lets out a bloodcurdling scream of sheer terror. This is nearly as frightening to anyone who might be sharing the self-checkout line at the time.
  3. The setting: Football away games in the 90s. 3A football "stadiums" surrounding Abilene. The cast: An underclassman on Varsity (me). The time: Pre-game. There were a couple of visitors locker rooms that didn't have doors on the 2 or 3 stall shitters. This one head-case of a lineman named Case Jackson would wait, and spy, for me to go take a shit. Then he would stand in the open space of the stall where the door should be....facing me. And watch me shit. That was quite unerving for a while. I got used to it. At least he never took the toilet paper away or did anything else even more wierd. Quite the unique hazing technique. Post Script: Maybe I should look up Case Jackson next time I'm constipated. Maybe he could help.
  4. My disdain of BlowU far exceeds my ambivalence toward Alabama.
  5. Relevant note on whether we may pursue a TE, or not: Jack Endries to Play in Bowl Game By CJ Vogel New report from our @Bobby Burton on Coffee & Football this morning: Texas tight end Jack Endries WILL play in the Citrus Bowl for the Longhorns on December 31st. Following the bowl game, Endries will make a decision regarding his future – NFL or returning to Texas. Endries met with Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff on Thursday and opted for this course of action regarding his future. No ultimate decision regarding his future has been made just yet, that will come in early January. --- --- --- Personnel decisions (another article): - Waiting on a decision from tight end Jack Endries. As of late last night, he was expected to opt to go pro but was struggling some with the decision. He had a meeting with Sark and personnel folks yesterday. - Tre Wisner’s rep also met with Texas yesterday. There was no final resolution. Wisner still has three options on the table: stay, portal or head to the NFL. Any reporting to the contrary yesterday that a decision had been made was not completely informed. - Following up on Gerry Hamilton’s reporting, Trevor Goosby is leaning toward a return to Texas. Yet nothing is finalized. - Texas also continues to speak with Hero Kanu. Kanu could go pro or return to Texas. No decision has been made. ** As it relates to the portal, I want to remind folks that Jaden Baugh is one of several RBs Texas will/would likely look at should they enter the portal. The idea that it is Jaden Baugh or bust is inaccurate despite a slurry of reporting that makes it appear otherwise.
  6. In 2010? When KSU Knew that all they had to do was wait for the Texas QB to throw it back to them?
  7. Western Michigan may win this game
  8. When I first started out in O&G I was checking on land rigs in that region. One day while my company truck was being serviced I had to borrow a co-workers truck to go make a run to a rig in the area. On the way back to our facility, I got a flat so stopped on the side of the road to change it. Well, my co worker had a padlock on the spare tire and I didn't have a key so that wasn't going to happen. This was before cell phones meaning I was going to have to find a way to the nearest service station to tell them where the truck was abandoned. Oh yeah, our company coveralls were bright orange. I didn't bother trying to hitch a ride with anyone passing by.
  9. It’s been windy as fuck here in Oklahoma, this game is going to be a shit show
  10. there's an hour plus interview of muschamp out there that's very recent like right before this season started. It's clear he wanted to enjoy his family this year, his head is screwed on so straight it's a breath of fresh air. He seems to be the quintessential family man and loves his wife like for real not just out of duty. it's also clear that he loves Austin, he said as much, said working for Mack was a highlight of his career, loves Saban and Kirby too. but he did talk about the friends they have in Austin and how much his wife loves Austin and they loved coaching at Texas. My guess is taking the Texas job is certainly a raise but UGA would match, but more than that it's a couple moving to where they want to be together. I think given he's done the HC gig and failed, I'm hopeful he wants to ride out as a DC for the remainder of his career so he may be here for a while. He's hands down the best in the business. this is a fucking massive hire. yeah we need offensive improvement, but there is no doubt improving the D can only help us. LFG.
  11. AFFORDABILITY IS A DEMOCRAT HOAX! ALSO, I BASED MUCH OF MY CAMPAIGN ON AFFORDABILITY!
  12. Well, that's good. If you're gonna get cancer, you certainly don't want to pay for it. JK -- congrats, man. Have a celebratory holiday. Two chicks at the same time, all that stuff.
  13. The most shocking thing in that report is that anyone thinks Seager "talks a lot."
  14. There are worse ways to spend a Friday evening.
  15. If this is your main issue, then your problem is with the head coach.
  16. I got great news this morning - I AM CANCER-FREE!
  17. He has to know that the next president is going to get rid of all this shit. It would be really embarrassing to have the name of a twice impeached convicted felon and rapist all over the place.
  18. A 70+ percentage acceptance rate certainly isn’t the flex an institution of higher learning should be reaching toward.
  19. Our DEI group I think is a way to account for some money going to certain projects- and give structure to the whole endeavor. There isn’t someone drawing a salary to be DEI coordinator or anything else, but there are different groups (ECG or something- employee community groups or a similar term) like black employee group, lgbtq, Asian and Pacific Islander, etc. it’s all voluntary and not restricted to actually being a member of the group, I could join any of them if I felt compelled. they get budgets for education and outreach, might raise funds for things, and generally try to help their group. and that is internal stuff, aside from the goal of recruiting talent from all over to build the best teams. Those groups probably help with this aspect as well. If you have a science day at a mostly tribal school, for instance, it probably helps to have NA folks there participating and sharing their experience. so yes, the government should absolutely be taking part in DEI activities. Or put another way, why would someone not want to be diverse, equitable, and inclusive- or not want their government or employer to be such?
  20. you're wearing Texas gear right ?
  21. I’m with you on most of your basketball takes but…
