I had a great time. I'll post a report in the fishing thread.

This should be interesting.....

No argument there, and if a kid grew up wanting to play The Eyes then obviously the USC band (or whatever) is going to be a poor substitute.

Is Melton made out of eggshells?

He needed Randy Smith. the whole thing with Tiger about changing his swing WHILE he was dominating got overblown and now people think you can really do that. If I told Woods he needed to drop his back foot away from the ball, flatten his swing, shake his ass, and tilt his shoulders more he'd still dominate because the key is the the last half a foot before his hands square with the club face at the ball. which is why Randy Smith never told Scottie he needed to look like Byron Nelson when he swung the golf club.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
SL Xpress replied to texifornia's topic in 🤫$9.95🤫
It's a good talking point to the THSCA, but I watched the entire talk he gave on youtube a bit ago. There were some other things said. The question was about this year's class, and how only ten of the 21 commitments are from the state of Texas. Sarkisian did a great job of answering the question, but the clear message in the entire Q&A was that Texas unapologetically was going to go after the best talent across the country. He acknowledged that agents have diminished the role of Texas high school coaches in the process, but he challenged coaches not to just give up their role as advisors and mentors. He challenged them to man up and be a part of the process rather than throwing up their collective hands and saying, "what can you do? It's all about the agents now." He talked about how it's not just about Texas keeping the best players in the state. There were a lot of instate programs players could go to. Then he pointed out that many of the best players in the state were leaving for programs outside of Texas. He had the standard "if I could recruit my entire team from the state of Texas I would" line, but the clear message is that's not the world we live in. He refused to get defensive about it, which is exactly right. The truth is this recruiting season is a sea change from how Texas has always gone about its business. I doubt we ever see 80% of UT's draft picks to the NFL being instate kids ever again in my lifetime. Sarkisian has made a clear investment in going after the best players wherever they are, with an emphasis on the southeast and California. It's not just the NIL dollars spent. Or the commitments. Or even the visits, although all of those are a huge part of it. The coaches are investing their time and resources in travelling all over the country - not just to see specific kids, but to build connections in the high school for players in the current recruiting class, as well as who might be someone to look for in future classes. That's when you know Texas is serious about this. They're not just putting a sack of money in front of the player. They're going out and cultivating relationships because they want people to know they're in it for the long haul. That's how you help protect your program from bad seeds that poison the locker room and/or force your hand where you have to pull the lever to the trap door to get them out of Austin. -

Trump is Fredo in Godfather II confessing that not only does he know Johnny Ola but that he parties with him. -
I want the league to succeed, BUT I hope the cash infusion/actual positive revenue flow happens AFTER most of these clowns are out of the league. I wish reporters would hammer them after every game and really drive home the point that the minority of people watching this league are fans of someone other than Clark or the Fever. Without Clark this league stays forever attached to the monetary infusion from the NBA. Nobody is tuning in to see these jealous clown frauds. I hope Clark sits out until the playoffs so we can once again get a reminder that Clark is the SOLE REASON for the attendance and ratings jump. These players are just not bright. This isn’t just jealousy. This is flat out stupidity with zero ability to read the room or the financials for that matter. Demanding money that is not there yet and then still trashing the only reason you have a shot at being financially solvent for the first time in league history is very on brand for this league.

He’s not looking for competition he’s looking for a good time and wants to play The Eyes and Texas Fight at the games. It’s pretty simple and of all people, folks on this board should get it. Not looking for connections really, just a memorable college experience. He’s got two band directors in his life that did it so he’s got a good understanding. And if not Texas he’ll do it elsewhere for the same reasons, obviously without the The Eyes and Texas Fight. As a parent, I’m thrilled about it, again third spaces are critical to finding your way. Band can absolutely be that place - family, school, friends community. So if he wants to be in a marching band in college, let’s do it.

No experience there but plenty in Avignon, Bedoin, Sault, Vaison-le-Romaine, Gigondas… in the other direction, Toulouse seemed lovely and a totally different city style for France. Hope you find your place! Had heard similar grumblings about Marseille.

Us included depending on who we go to war against next. The drones Ukraine was fielding early on were cheap as shit and pretty effective. At the very least, they will impact mobility on the battlefield.

Lmao Ursula update what the fuck

It's funny when they circle the freaks in their Hudl videos. Um, is it the biggest, fastest guy on the field?

1234. CBS/etc. will toss Colbert under the bus because they need that merger/buyout to happen, but Murdoch probably gives no fucks since Trump is suing him directly (and Murdoch is an actual billionaire many times over, and Disney made him even richer) and I have a feeling Murdoch and the WSJ probably has some decent lawyers. At the very least, Murdoch and the WSJ could let this go to the discovery process and then be running all kinds of stories about Trump and Epstein that come up as a result.

2 and Q, let’s do it…
