  1. Past hour
  2. Seems like networks have come full circle. Originally those timeslots were the old test screens. NBC decided to fill the slot with the tonight show bringing in multiple advertisers rather than just one sponsor. The model took off and spread. Now that we can get highlights anytime we want online, no need to watch the full show. Definitely speaks to the state of tv. It was mentioned on the doc I watched. Carson highlights were talked about that water cooler the next day and if you missed it, too bad.
  3. Sportswriters are the dumbest people in the world who get paid to write. Bohls personifies that. He's also always overcompensated in his Texas writing for fear of being called a homer. He was covering A&M during the Sherrill years and clearly liked tooting their horn. You can't really expect the moron chorus of sportswriters to grasp such a complicated proposition as two (two!!!!) different sources of revenue for a player. They also run like a herd, these idiots. Expect this notion about Texas being different and sorta evil to take hold for a while as the morons keep quoting each other about it. At some point, a sports pundit will want to be contrary and contest this notion about Texas. Then the herd will thunder in that direction because everybody really wants to associate with success.
  4. I don't know how y'all do it. I find this format absolutely unwatchable.
  5. This is true but a few things. It's hot in Texas anyway. Prices are lower because its off season. There is the ocean and pools to cool off. You usually get a coastal breeze.
  6. Dude is so inbred he's probably 24 years old and looks 47.
  7. Been using Merlin for several years. Great little app.
  8. About fucking time. Will be nice to finally have a true goal scorer on the squad instead of relying on every other player on the pitch that isn't Kai Havertz.
  9. I still suck at recruiting so that’s fun
  10. If you still want to go, I can send you a file for you to open?
  11. Uh huh. Sure, they'll bitch and moan (louder than normal) for a couple months about not getting their military tribunals. Then what, Marge? What are you loonies going to do then? You'll rationalize that it still beats the alternative and keep marching right along.
  12. I first saw him in the fall of '82 at the Erwin Center. A friend had 7th row floor tix and his girlfriend had to back out. He knew I was a music geek so he asked if I wanted to go. My experience was almost identical to what you said -- I was very apathetic and then the concert was just hit after hit after hit. I didn't own any of his albums so while I knew the songs I just really hadn't added it all up. I ended up seeing him several more times over the years.
  13. Guarantee that poll does not impress the Paramount leaders (Sumner Redstone's daughter) and it could very well lead Trump to suing CBS whenever "fake" data is distributed to make him look bad.
  14. Which as ChickenSandwich points out, says more about the state of television and that time slot that the individual show. All three are now merely place holders and I am curious if local stations could opt out of network agreements if they would make more money running localized programming than those three shows.
  15. I was with you until "Dems get Congress." Then you brought me back at the finish.
  16. I am NOT the one hooking horns on the left.
  17. Gee, sure would have been awesome if young people--who grew up on the internet and should be less gullible to scams and blatant disinformation--realized that they were being played around oh, I don't know, November of last year.
  18. Something about this reminds me of being in the dome for Ken Caminiti's debut. He was diving around, throwing rockets from 3rd and crushing doubles and home runs. He just did big things. Arch came in last year and threw it long, looking downfield every time (to a fault) but it was really fun to watch.
  19. I saw him three times if memory serves. The last time, my musical tastes were evolving, but I went with a friend who had not seen him before. Before the concert, I had a fair amount of apathy. That absolutely melted away from about five seconds into the first song onward. From then on, I always held him in pretty high esteem as far as easily-enjoyable live performers go. Also, it's been said that for a song called Piano Man, that guy playing the harmonica doesn't seem to STFU.
  20. We going back to back - just stay healthy
  21. If he does most of the talking, they can get the whole show done in five minutes.
  22. Was waiting for this loser to face consequences. I made it about an hour into it, listening in the background throughout the day. I closed it when they started talking about Gaza genocide, I knew this idiots would have zero concept of what was happening there, and the first speaker confirmed it. It was so fucking sad how stupid those people are, and couldn't even follow the basic premise of Mehdi Hasan's basic points. And the general veneer they tried to slap over racism...just nauseating. Hasan was amazingly impressive. Just prepared, came with talking points and citations, although he obviously was emotional dealing with these idiots who can't even answer a basic point. Country is toast.
  23. That’s some red meat
  24. Yeah it definitely kind of ruined me for future family trip all inclusives. I think 3 nights was probably perfect as we would have probably gotten a bit bored staying longer (or found some type of off site excursion), but as far as getting away and relaxing for a few days while eating and drinking well it hit the spot. If you end up booking email hotel in advance to make sure you get a reservation at Cocina de Autor (that is their michelin star restaurant). We ended up booking all our dinners in advance but at least when we were there that was the only one I think could have been tough to get at a good time if we waited until we showed up.
