  2. LJ is a legit NFL prospect if he decides he actually wants to compete and be a football player at the next level. Gray doesn’t have any question marks as a college running back. Give me Gray. Potential doesn’t pay the rent. I don’t know if the recruiting board is a good transition forum for you after the coaching search. There are a lot of good football threads on the football board where you can post a lot of words and hawt takes in a safe environment. Coming to this board and telling us you don’t give a fuck about the 2021 season and not really seeming to grasp why it matters for the future, or that Texas has the talent to be a top 15 team next year, isn’t going to help much. Not knowing that there are 12 games in a regular season college football calendar for all teams is also a grim beginning to your journey here.

  3. Wait. Where are you seeing this? All I see is positive Bible verses, and follows by guys like Quan, Colt, Griff, JC, and others. Nothing redneck about it, unless you are prejudiced against real estate agents that sell ranches. Could you be the one with the problem? What is "redneck" about Jordan's Twitter account? CHIEF Ahhh, you got me. I checked, and you are a CR troll. All makes sense now.

  4. It's always fascinating to me how smart people fuck up once, and people use it against them for all eternity, discrediting everything else they ever do because they were wrong that one time. Meanwhile, stupid people get to continue saying stupid shit after stupid shit, and it's never held against them.

  5. Well, now then. Kevin McCarthy is making a sincere and vigorous attempt at outpacing some pretty infamous McCarthys for activities harmful to American citizens regardless of the truth of the matter. But while my kinfolk of Irish descent are fond of the blarney, a true Irishman or woman recognizes that kissing the Stone bestows not just the gift of an eloquent tongue, but the responsibility to use it wisely. Alas poor Kevin, you seditious poxbottle lickarse; you've outpaced Jenny of the Anti-Jabs, and Joseph of the Commie-Cons. Take your feckin gombeen self along with your slapped arse face to church and pray that your geebag ma will let you darken the doorstep after you've brought shame to the family. Bear responsibility? May the devil blow you into the air so that America can wave you on to Hell.

  6. How about "Fuck you, Kevin McCarthy, I'm not gonna take the blame for all the shit you and your dayglo shitgibbon overlord did"? Does that cover it?

  7. I watched some games from the past two years and some from 2016 (when they made the CFP). He runs three basic defenses. The 2-4 Over is his basic nickel package and what we will see the most of. To go bigger or dime he goes to either a 3-4 Tite or 3-2 Tite. --- I'll start with the 2-4. Both DTs are essentially the same position. The defense as a whole plays field and boundary, but the DTs will align to the TE if one exists. So either player can be the NT on any given snap. They shade the guards (2i and 3). It's a single-gap scheme for them, but they do not shoot gaps. They very aggressively seek contact. The OLBs are for all intensive purposes DEs except they stand at the snap. They are a bit tighter on the line than what you'd expect out of a 2-4, and they don't try to speed rush every snap. It's a much more passive position than DT, featuring about equal parts of read-and-react vs working the edge. The field side tends to be more aggresive from what I saw, but that might be a personnel decision moreso than schematic. The ILBs play more similar than I expected. One does tend to be smaller and rangier, because he covers more ground in coverage. However, both usually play over the guards as true ILBs would. They do cheat (line up in the wrong gaps) for coverage against certain offensive sets, but it is not an every down thing. The statistics say the secondary is split evenly between single and two-high safety looks, but his 2-4 definitely favors single safety. The single safety plays very deep while the other DBs play tighter than usual. Despite the single-high look it's a modern matchzone. Because television hides 2 or 3 DBs every snap, it's difficult to tell if he has favorite coverages. The CBs play a slide technique regardless of coverage. Blitzes feel somewhere between rare and normal. It's not really a "do the same thing every play" defense though. He's just more likely to stunt or overload one side and drop somewhere else than bring an extra rusher. "Simulated pressure" is what they call it nowadays. --- The 3-4 Tite (404) is for large packages and run-heavy teams and readily morphs to Bear (every lineman covered) in goalline situations. Every position is similar to above but with another large DT instead of nickel. The NT either 2-gaps or Lags, the DEs attack a single gap like above. More 2-high safety from this look. --- The 3-2 Tite is for Leach and is pretty much Todd Orlando (that's who Lake based it around). He plays it very simple and passive, usually dropping 8. It is more bend-not-break than the other two. The front is small for this with one or both OLBs playing DE.

  8. Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female elected officials - we did. [winks at Speaker Pelosi] But you can't hold a whole Trump party responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole 2-party system ? And if the whole 2-party system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our political institutions in general? I put it to you, Chuck - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but I for one am not going to stand here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

  9. In my make believe scenario in my head. *Sark calls Stoops* Sark: Hey Mike! Just wanted to call and offer you this spot at Texas. What do you say?” Stoops: *long snort* “Fuck yeah I’m in” Sark: “ Awesome, you should have a ticket for a plane here in your email. We’ll talk soon” *chuckling can be heard in the background as Sark waves at CDC to shut up* Stoops: “What’s that noise in the background? Are y’all fucking with me?” Sark: “No way man! We’re celebrating that you can be apart of this thing! Holler when you get to the airport so we know when to expect you.” * few hours pass* Stoops: “ Hey Sark, I’m at the airport and they’re trying to tell me my ticket is invalid. I don’t know if it’s the bloody nose that dripped on the ticket or not. What’s the deal?” *Full blown laughing from CDC, Sark answers half laughing* Sark: “Oh shit, you actually went to the airport. Yeah man we were fucking with you. We got Choate the Goat coming from Montana. Sorry bro.” Stoops: “What the fuck, I told Saban I was out! The fuck am I gonna do now?” Sark: “Hate to tell ya but he was in on it too. Good luck at Moorehead State next year. Hook’Em” *Phone call ends, Sark and CDC clink glasses of water together*

  13. It is fun following UT coach hiring process. I read Herman firing on January 2 and immediately found this board. There were so many twists and turns. From the initial firing coach Sark threads to the excitement of NCG. Then trying to guess which assistant should get. I would say coach Sark mostly outwitted you guys. Except for Banks co with pole assassin and monkey Gia. That is your wet dream comes true. Until the half day before RGB3 checked TFB’s list of DC candidate, nobody is suspecting coach PK at all. The best is last night. 95% of the people just want to storm Sark’s hotel room with pitch forks. In 24 hours, this thing climaxed with the hiring of coach Choate. Between following this thread and my high school winning state champion, I don’t get ANY work done in the past 20 days. Heck, I don’t even touch my XBSX and play Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Now time to say goodbye. Wish Longhorn in NCG soon under coach Sark.

  16. Fuck off Sooner. I'm not going to sit here and allow you to spew your drivel on ethics when you're a fan/an alum of the dirtiest college football program in history. If you had any self-respect, you wouldn't be on a Longhorn board in the first place.

  22. Healthy patriotism is a good thing. We need it. We need it especially at a time when the new breed of alt-right nationalists try to claim the mantle as the only people who care about the country. Patriotism isn’t the Proud Boys or Q or Three Percenters. It’s not the GOP, it’s not the NRA, it’s not Oath Keepers. Patriotism is the VFW, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club. Its Shriners and their hospitals. It’s Toys 4 Tots. It’s even Black Lives Matter. It’s Charro Days in Brownsville, the Feast of San Gennaro in New York, and every street and county fair in between. People of good will need to model a different way to love their country and all of its people. It’s a mistake-an understandable one- to wash your hands of patriotism and even its symbols because the jackasses coopting them make you angry.

  23. While initially I thought this would be a black mark for Sark, just the thought of Mike Stoops finding out he’s been fired at some shithole Alabama airport and his ticket to Austin is no longer good makes this a great initial Sark experience. Bravo. Well played.

I haven’t given it much thought since signing on for it in 2019, but looking at the photos now and realizing we’re not that far away is fun. Having a new regime is even better news, and opening against a good Louisiana team that will probably be ranked is also good to think about.

  30. I have no beef with Gideon and really don’t get the constant hate. He dropped one ball that would have changed Texas Football history, no doubt, but the offensive coaching in that game left much to be desired. Gideon was a smart player who played hard every snap. He always placed the team ahead of himself. Obviously, his teammates still appreciate him and he’s respected within the coaching community. We’d be much better off as a program if we had a lot more like him, on and off the field.
