  1. A conversation with my wife: ”We have to go to Chili’s when Kamala wins.” ”…Why?” ”Because that’s what Surly is doing.” ”We have to go to Chili’s because of Surly.” “Yes.” ”If Surly jumped off a bridge..” ”Yes.” ”sigh”

  3. In ~25 years of posting on the various iterations of our discussion boards I don't think I've ever posted on any iteration of CR. Over the last 10 days I've been following this thread pretty much all day/night. Many thanks to all of you for the information you share and the informative discussion (and even the sidetracks)... and holy shit @Js1, well done!

  5. I can’t get into weeds buuuuuut internals look great, it’s the largest GOTV campaign in US history, Philly canvass lines have been a mile long and women have been undersampled in every poll and will break heavy for the one who didn’t brag about eliminating their rights (shocking!). Also PA has 450k Puerto Ricans who fucking hate that man now and have been reminded daily about why.

  6. They aren't the absolute embarrassing disaster that white men are right now.

  7. My Michigan anecdote for this election is that when I was in Ann Arbor both before the game and after the game Michigan frat bros (different one each time) yelled at me that Trump sucks and Michigan is for Harris. I realize that's just because my clothes indicated I'm from Texas but if frat bros are willing to yell that then this thing is in the bag for Harris. Ha.

  9. i was at a turn near the twenty mile marker for the city of oaks marathon (Raleigh) with my kids and a crowd of other cheerers-on waiting for my wife to run by. Everyone is screaming words of encouragement at everyone who comes by, hooting and hollering and holding out "power up" signs. Guy comes running in a red maga hat, and it was literally just the sound of birds chirping hahahaha

  10. It'll be a new world after this, because if you treat women poorly politically you do so at your own peril. Once any political group realizes that they have power, they don't give it up, and the biggest take away from all this is going to be the realized power of women in politics; not just as a leader or leaders, but as a political group. Moving forward, when candidates are selected, legislation, etc, the very first question Democrats need to ask is, "are women going to be happy with this?" I will tell you who is unequivocally going to struggle with this, Republicans.

  12. If Kamala wins, we don't just go to Chili's. No, no, fuck that. We buy a Chili's.

  13. So I undersampled the half of the gender population that votes more often, and then the largest and most important city, but beyond that, I'm on it.

  14. I have shared ancedotes on here about educated, white women with daughters in high school/college who are still voting for Trump becuase reasons. I am also not too sure about my fellow white women. I think a lot of them are just shitty people if I am being honest. There is a dark part of me that hopes they feel the pain they are putting on other people. I am not proud of that feeling, but there it is.

  15. They are remarkably consistent in getting the larger media world to notice them and believe they're finally going to amount to something then embarrassing themselves and whomever says "keep an eye on those Aggies. Coach [fill in blank] has them heading in the right direction." Last night was epic Aggie. They weren't plucky. Their personal fouls made them unlikeable. They handed the mantle of up and comer to USCe. Beamer is the coach of the moment. Elko is a fat, puzzled looking entity on the sidelines. Square one, Aggies. You hadn't played anyone and your weren't playing anyone special. You got crushed. Your coach looked like a fool going for it on two fourth downs. Nobody cares about your self-vaunted win streak and place at the top of the SEC. It wasn't going to last. Everybody knew it. Oh, and I think South Carolina's stadium easily matches the atmosphere at Kyle except they look like they're having fun rather than obeying orders. We're coming.

  16. For some reason this got me, and not for any particular reason. I just got really sad thinking that women are going to save democracy, and it came to be that way because we treat them like fucking shitty second class citizens. Gimme 100 years of matriarchy. Maybe with Mayor Pete sprinkled in.
