  1. 1st and 10- Snap infraction (in honor of Jake Majors) 1st and 15- Inside handoff to Wisner for 3 yards 2nd and 12- The spin around no-look screen pass that makes everyone's buttholes pucker. Incomplete 3rd and 12- DB slips and falls, Livingstone is wide open running down the seam!!!!! drop. Great punt to pin Ohio State at their 25

  3. In all seriousness, from the updates it sounds like Moore and Wingo are the focus at WR. To me that suggests that the staff would rather have an extra RB or TE on the field than a third WR (presumably White Chocolate). But that doesn't mean he won't see the field. Imagine that we're up by less than a score late in the 3rd quarter. Out trots Jaggy and lines up in the X. The DB looks at this goofy ass white kid and thinks "well this is a run play." The ball is snapped, Jaggy does his goofy arm-flailing shit, and the DB takes his eyes off Livingstone for second. Next thing he knows, Parker motherfucking Livingstone is 10 yards behind him, on track to catch an absolute dot from Manning in the end zone. You don't start a chess match by moving your queen in front. You start with the pawns. You save your best pieces for checkmate.

  7. I appreciate all the comments on this thread observing the litany of mythology the OSU fan base has about their team. I remember them being the same way in 2005 prior to that game. There's a culture thing going on there. As far as Arch Manning "tapping out" I've seen several references to him suffering a concussion in the Cotton Bowl on the 8 yard run and unwilling to go back out on the field, unlike the tough Quinn Ewers who was obviously the better quarterback anyway because Manning couldn't beat him out for the starting job. Also, it's a common refrain that anything Texas did well in the game last year is dismissed as "and we still beat them by 14 points!" Never mind that 7 came on a fluke screen pass that if we just put the guy on the ground the half is over. I consider that a worse mistake than the scoop and score that put the game out of reach. Look, the better team won that day. Ohio State earned the victory. But acting as if the game was a blowout and dismissing anything Texas did well as something OSU was easily able to overcome is simple lunacy. I don't believe Ohio State will be able to run consistently on Texas fielding a light box with 6 defenders close to the line of scrimmage. I believe Texas will be able to field the safeties in umbrella coverage again. There's going to be tight windows in coverage just like there were last year. If Sayin can make those throws the way Howard did, more power to them. I do not believe that's going to be the case. I also think too much importance is being put on this game. I think it's natural, but to me the more important aspect for both teams is how much do they improve from this game to their next legitimate opponent - Washington for Ohio State and Florida for Texas. Both teams are going to have to improve to reach their season ending goals, and unlike 2005, this isn't an elimination game. It's an awesome barometer for both squads. But for entertainment purposes I'm hoping for a beatdown so I can watch the Ohio State fan base completely crumble. I also want to watch the rest of the games that day, and that's going to be difficult if I've smashed all my electronics watching a defeat.

  8. let me put it this way, if this team executes from Sark and the other coaches down to the players, this is the best team in the country. I don't give a fuck about bama or Georgia or buckfuckingnuts or anyone. stacked. like train these mother fuckers gangsta style, like 2005 (cept VY) ain't seen shit style, like bill bradley it don't make a shit style. I've never been more optimistic about a texas team than this one.

  9. i have two points first I want to be "not money whipped" for a $900,000 raise. thank you. second we have too much PTSD around here, we are pretty much in a reload with equal or superior talent at most positions (accounting for exceptions where the starter is a boss man but we have boss men popping up like fucking whack-a-moles all over this team)

  14. FWIW I think Sark has done WAY better than I expected at TX. When he was hired I was among the many who mostly said "huh?" but he has already proved me wrong on that take. He's been excellent and seems to be set for the long haul.

  16. The OLB/Edge responsibilities will be more experienced and deeper, that will help. The LBs are running 2 deep at starter level. We know that the safeties will play run responsibilities well. Baker did an excellent job with the interior last year. Hindsight is your position regarding Broughton and Collins. This time last year, hope was our strategy on both guys. Collins always had potential, but potential doesn't pay the rent. Broughton sucked until his JR year and then he flashed being potentially above replacement as a SR if we were lucky. And then no one knew shit about Norton or Lole and everyone was wringing their hands. The 5 guys brought in at DT don't all have to hit. It sounds like they're all pushing for PT along with January though, so, yay! for us. How many preseasons and off seasons in a row do we need to bawl all over ourselves with worry about the DT room before we just trust that the staff knows what they're doing and, if they like what we have, we should as well? My number is 2. I am out of off seasons for that handwringing with this regime. Regardless, we'll know whether our thinking is folly on the first drive of the game for OSU if Day is worth his salt, and I think he obviously is. They're going to run right at Simmons several times and make him, and the Texas staff, make absolutely sure that he's a 3 down Edge.

  17. Here is what the public is doing on the betting side, per Action Network, where I have a subscription: 64% of the bets are on Texas. 71% of the money is on Texas. They're tracking 37,678 bets for that data. They've also stated that, as of now, both the sharp action and the expert picks are majority Texas by a good margin. KJ Lacey is 5'10", 175 with a great arm and a ton of moxie. He's arguably a better QB with the same body as what ATM will be starting against UTSA.

  22. I'm sorry, but Jaggy McJaggerson is not going to be a priority this weekend. Run inside, run outside, jet sweeps, hit Wingo, Moore and Endries, win by 11 and leave town. They're going to play 21 and 12 personnel as much or more than 11. Who are you taking off of the field in order to keep McJaggerson out there? A better blocking TE? One of the talented RBs? "Don't throw it to that guy!"
