So it's pretty clear from that last comments about the governors that he'll open shit up again and when people die he'll blame the governors, except in redstates where he'll find someone else to blame. I hate this fucking country in a lot of ways, I really fucking do.

This is exactly right

Welp, it finally happened. I snapped in public today. I went into work for a bit this morning because I’m trying to figure out the safest way to host physicians we are recruiting given our CV-19 sit

  • I don't really know what to say anymore tbh. What happened last night is hard to put into words for anyone who hasn't worked in a hospital healthcare setting. Just unreal. Everyone is getting fucked.

There is no way Fauci is on board with sending everybody back to work in a week.

which is probably why he's not there today

I'd bet that even if he's reelected this happens again.  Nothing will have been put in place to address the risk.

What about the aquarium cleaner?  How's that working?

The solution would be to spend billions on a testing program, medical supplies and temporary hospitals. But we have a president who isn’t looking for solutions, he’s a scared trapped animal looking for a way out instead.

Well, I’m fine with him gnawing his arm off and wandering off into a forest somewhere like a trapped animal might do.

Holy shit with the angry media.

Brazos Valley, a bastion of red just laid down the Shelter in Place law.  To last for 14 days from today.  If Trump rescinds his emergency proclamation in 7 days and tells the country to go back to work, then things will get interesting.

Yeah, lady, if you touch something on Friday you get sick on Saturday.

With the WashPost story last night, if Faucci isn’t at this press conference for a second day on a row, I’ll be officially worried Trump is distancing him from the administration.

Damit.

It’s a media hoax and we can go back to work next week but we need this bailout RIGHT NOW!!!!

They will give all the data to this moron.  He won't understand it.

Only the half trillion unaccountable loans to corporations with sketchy pay back rules.

I won't speculate on data.  I have to see the data.

It's just the olds.  That's all.  And preexisting conditions.

She's like a shitty professor giving her pre-final review class.  But, hey, study everything!

this is a trainwreck of blabber

Nothing of any value has been said today.  I just want to know if Barr for the martial law order.

Beyond what any country has done for people.

We're going to talk about it ad nauseum.

Finally, a truth from him.

China has a better run government than us right now because trump.

  • Allocates $150 billion to supporting hospitals, local health centers and government-funded medical programs, with an additional $80 billion in low-interest loans to hospitals.
  • Eliminates cost-sharing for coronavirus treatments and vaccines for all patients, including the uninsured.
  • Addresses broader health care concerns that Democrats have pushed for months, including increasing subsidies on the individual market and creating new incentives for states to expand Medicaid.
  • Provides child care assistance to health care workers and emergency personnel.
  • Offers individual Americans $1,500 in direct deposits, and up to $7,500 for a family of five. The benefit would be available to anyone with an individual taxpayer identification number, retirees and unemployed individuals.
  • Would temporarily provide $600 per week to unemployed workers affected by the coronavirus. Self-employed workers, Americans whose contracts were cancelled, and new entrants to the job market would also be eligible.
  • Expands paid sick leave and family medical leave, as well as gives more money to food-safety benefits.
  • Provides $500 billion in grants and interest-free loans to small businesses.
  • Creates a $200 billion stabilization fund for states and $15 billion for local governments through the Community Development Block Grant program. The legislation also authorizes the Federal Reserve to purchase state and local government bonds.
  • Pumps nearly $60 billion into schools and universities, with $50 billion directly provided to states for school funding and nearly $10 billion to higher education institutions.
  • Dedicates $4 billion in grant funding to help states with upcoming elections and nationally mandates 15 days of early voting and no-excuse absentee vote-by-mail, including mailing a ballot to all registered voters in an emergenc
I have to think Democrats will be willing to negotiate away some of the tangential provisions in this bill, let Republicans claim victory over socialism for stopping airline carbon credits or whatever, and ultimately pass the core of a much better bill. Better result nationally, might be bad politics but whatever.

And there it is.
Y'all are pissed off at the Senate for jerking around today? That was some fine drama. The Democrats were going to hold off Turtle until Nancy had her bill ready.
Turtle is pissed he got caught and called out. Collins is pissed and that makes me happy.
Barr can suck it. He's getting nothing.

This. The GOP has no Senate majority for the next week or two because Rand Paul is a fucking moron of unparalleled proportions. The Democrats effectively control both houses of Congress right now, because I guarantee they can find a few GOP votes for a slimmed down version of the Pelosi bill. No reason to shove through a trash GOP bill. Trump will sign anything for media coverage.

I wish they'd manage optics better but for once I might actually think congressional Democrats are acting somewhat competently.
to be fair, i would rather get coronavirus than move to idaho or nebraska.
Nebraska, yes. There's some great scenery in Idaho. And a lot fewer cornfed diabetics.

omg cnn cutaway like 15 min ago i just assumed it was over.

Impeach his ass again for destroying the country. Maybe the Dershowitz will find destroying the county to be a high crime and misdemeanor.

It gets better because governors like Abbott are passing the buck to mayors and county officials already. Small communities can’t get tests, don’t have hospitals, etc or large cities like Houston that become overwhelmed but when things get bad.....the “not my responsibility “ will be in full force. Very funny how the local control soundbite only flows one way.

i just want to be a fly on the wall when trump calls newsom and garcetti and tells them to open ca up for business next week.

something tells me it will not be a perfect phone call.
