I uninstall the Uber app almost immediately after every ride because of its annoying fucking notifications. I want notifications on so I know driver has been selected/is 5 minutes out/has arrived. I don't want all the other shit about buying more rides or delivering carrots or duct tape or butt plugs. And I'm too lazy to see if there's a way to turn off those other notifications while leaving the useful ones. Lyft app doesn't send me any of that shit.

I too hate unnecessary texts or notifications. I also DO want to get notifications in the actual process of getting an Uber ride.

go to Settings
tap Communications
tap "push notifications"
uncheck every box

fuck people who let their cats roam the neighborhood and traipse into other peoples property.

if my dogs dont roam around in your yard, why is your cat in mine? (and absolutely pissing the hell out of my dog)

This times infinity. There is a cat in my neighborhood that loves to sit in my bushes and antagonize Sebastian through the window. In Houston, it is just as illegal to let your cat roam free as it is to let your dog run free. I feel like catching that fucking cat in my yard and taking him to the pound.

Put that cat on a chain with a stake planted in the yard. LOL

How da fuq you control where cats go?

( I don't own a cat)

Am I weird that I fucking hate people that don't walk through the grocery store using the rules of the road? If you are going down an aisle, you should stay to the right, correct? if I am on the right side of the aisle, I should never hit you head on coming from the opposite direction. Fucking animals. Convinced that we still have orphanages and feral children in this country.

I live way out in the country in ETX. We don’t have cats. Our neighbor’s cat comes over regularly at night and hunts under our deck. I appreciate that. Cats are utilitarian, and he’s doing his job.

I don’t think right lane driving is common etiquette. What bugs people is the lady that is walking in front of me in traffic and just suddenly stops for some reason. Usually the phone l, not reading isle labels. Just oblivious that everyone had to brake check and is waiting. This happens at airports too.

If I am walking down the right side of the aisle, but I need to make my selection from the opposite side, can I reach across, or must I "go to the end of the block and double back?"

The lingering lady who takes a billion years to pick her item when you want the item right next to it but she's in your way is the bigger annoyance to me. Thank goodness for order pickup. Now I can just breeze through for a few things. It is interesting how angry people seem to be at the grocery store.

I was at HEB the other day (it was open, but closed the next day) and some lady had brought her CAT shopping with her. Made it a padded bed in the kids seat and everything. Get your damn house pet out of the grocery store and keep it at home where it belongs.

One drawback on the curbside/ order picking; not picking out your produce or meat. Was at son's house over the holidays and he making a big pot of soup. He pulls out the yellow onion that is about the size of an apricot.

Come the fuck on...

Watch out. Now you're gonna get the people who get pissy about in store shoppers.

In Houston the odds are that you will either die on the freeway because of a shitty driver, or in the aisle of an H‑E‑B after being run over by an order picker cart

My office manager is too obtuse to know what she's taking up 80% of the airspace.

A few of us were in the kitchen with the head honcho of the western group. He's telling the story of him being stranded in the construction trailer for a few days when Hurricane Allison blew through Houston. It's a riveting story, but the office manager wanted to interject every 10 seconds to tell her personal story about being out during a spring shower without an umbrella.

I try to create space for other voices, but 1 second of dead air means she has to tell us about the great deal on solar panels she got 20 years ago...

I just emailed this to the USPS to complain about the lack of delivery service for the past 11 months.

We’ll see how long it takes to get any competent action.

I was at the local Honda dealer a few years ago buying a 4-wheeler for my son. The salesman and I went back and forth until he finally said that he would have to go ask the "business manager" to go any lower. He came back and said, "Sorry, that is as low as I can go. I cannot go any lower". To my advantage another salesman was on the phone in the adjacent cubicle and he was talking rather loud and he agreed on a deal for the same 4-wheeler that I was trying to buy at a lower price than what my salesman was offering. I just looked at my salesman. He was pissed because he just heard what I had heard. I walked out with a sweet deal on a 4-wheeler.

what an asshole. did you switch sales person so the other dude get the commission instead

I have always said, in airports, if you wouldn't do it in your car - don't do it at the airport. No strolling thru passengers at 90 degrees, no sharp left turns to the gate that force everyone to dodge you.

Every fall the local historical society sets up a cemetery stroll. The largest local cemetery in Alabama dates back to the 1700's. Various people including myself portray and discuss almost 100 of the people buried there. Went to the website to see the photos. Some clueless person decided to post about 100 photos - all in black and white.

But are there any Hispanics in Alabama?

There's a Henry Cho joke in there somewhere.
