That's what CHIEF Jr. says is his next purchase. Don't know why he wants one, we don't have any grizzlies, buffalo, or polar bears around. He already has the .450BM. There is a recoil pad included, that should tell a person something.

I don’t have that problem, the Diana my grandfather liberated from a house he cleared along the Moselle is a taxi driver and still in good working order.

Ever been rebuilt?

Probably has a leather washer on the piston, and while those are better than they sound, 75 some odd years has to be a record for longevity.

Too bad he didn't luck into one of these.

Every firearms aficionado should have a levergun, and the Marlin is one of the top choices, IMO.
Bought my .30-30 new in 1968 for about $80.
Added a cheap Tasco a few years later. Son#2 owns it now.

There’s no telling whether he rebuilt it, but I’m positive he tinkered with it as needed. It was old when he found it, so it’s probably closer to 95 years old than 75. He used it regularly from when he came back from Europe until he passed in 2022.
It’s a single shot, so he told me the important thing is not to miss. Here he is at age 98, heading out to bag a squirrel for dinner:

If I really didn’t care about money I would snag one of these beauties… but 5k is a lot to ask for a tactical shotgun… damn John Wick!df2b195b6d9decc292bdc05f63fd10a2.jpg

Take the Taran Tactical sticker off and save yourself $3K

Bottom one looks a lot like my New England firearms 20ga.

Those NE firearms evolved from the H&R Topper series.
Mine is a 12 gauge shortened to 19”. It served as my truck gun in the early 1990s.
