  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

You can’t convince me this Hendrick dude is hopped up on ‘ludes

White Sox had three guys in their starting lineup batting 300 or better. We don’t have a single 300 hitter on the roster.

Yordan deciding to use the 9th here to wake up in august would be a welcome development

Yes, as I noted when it happened. But once a guy was on third and you had a hot 2-out lefty hitter facing your shaky reliever, why wouldn't you walk him to get to the righty (whom you struck out)? I really don't get it.

Lolz.

I miss the AL west

wake me up when it’s September.

Looking like the start of the annual august swoon.

Hard to take this team seriously when you are consistently rolling out 3 black holes on offense. If the White Sox weren't such a horrible defensive team, we probably would have scored a total of 1 run so far in this series.

I mean Goddammit. I love this team but what in the fuck was that shitty ass fuckface of a 3 at bat 8 pitch 9th??? From 1-2-3? Total fucking shitshow and now that it’s mid August….a bit of a seed of something to worry about.

Just a factoid. Dusty doesn’t even choose to play his best players.

Alvarez really loves to swing at very bad pitches.  Coaches need to get on him, it's a huge opportunity cost to have this weapon be so ineffective.

Overall, team needs to take more pitches, losing their patience.

Lets try to avoid the sweep tomorrow I guess

I guarantee that we won’t be swept tomorrow.

This is the biggest problem for this team going into the playoffs, when you manager is a fucking moron, eventually it catches up to you.

Ah right I couldn't remember if this was the 4 game series or the Braves

Meh.  These last two games have been nut punches.  It happens.  Get ‘em tomorrow boys.

he's done, who will lead in 2023?

1st person that can accurately put together an optimized lineup, and will let that lineup eat for 90% of the games.

That might be a byproduct of these factoids: the Astros are 75-43 and leading the division by double digits.

Angry Season 2 GIF by The Office

So this is what playing in a decent division with competent teams feels like. We’ve been living fat in a shit division. Gotta score more than 2 or 3 runs. What really hurts is Yankees are sucking and we’re missing great opportunities to put distance between us. Mancini and Vazquez will start tomorrow and we’ll score 7 runs. Que sera sera.

It seems like every year I talk about a series where, “The other team just wanted it more.”

Then I’m on the couch watching the Stros beat the Yankees to go back to another World Series.

JV was the pitcher who allowed the game-tying double that scored two runs and Neris failed in the 8th but let's all blame it on Dusty like he's the big fuckin loser causing all this losing.

Jeremy Pena's OPS over the last 30 games: .569

he has to play through this

Hopefully Yordan gets through this slump soon.  Glad it is happening now and hopefully doesn't happen in October.

Last 14 days he has played in 12 games.  1 homer and 8 singles I believe.

.209 avg with a pre all star break machete like .579 OPS (which btw machete has an impressive .246 avg and .746 OPS over the last 28 days)

Yuli has picked it up over the past 6 games .706 OPS, but if you go back to include the last 14 days he played 10 games and has an .494 OPS

As mentioned already, Pena's OPS over last 24 games is .553

So now Bregman is great and Yordan sucks.  Would be nice for at least  Altuve, Yordan, Bregman, and Tucker to all be locked in at the same time.

Seems to happen every year where one or two of the big guns are up and one or two are down at the same time…and by October they are all (or at least the majority) usually locked in.

The plus side - the Yankees keep losing  and are 2-8 in their last 10, so no harm, no foul

The other plus side - Seattle is still double digit games back because they're only 1 game better than us in their last 10

Yankees are free falling.

bregman and Yuli are headed into the right direction. Diaz needs a quick recovery, we don’t need a 30 day groin injury.

I feel like the Yankees L10 has been stuck on 2-8 since the all star break.

it’s glorious

5 straight series losses they said last night? The DH loss to us broke them lol

Lulz. picked it up. No HRs since July 1st. 2 EBHs and 2 BBs in August. Yuli is done and it's ridiculous that he's getting this many ABs in the 2 hole.
