good at selling cars though

In the Colorado Springs Scheels store, they have an animatronic Elway at the top of the escalator on the second floor.  It's really creepy.

John Elway was a great QB and is a terrible NFL exec.

And golf cart driver.

I thought this was AI but it seems to be from a legitimate source.

How is that fake looking AI shit "very cool?"

We’re getting older. There’s a lot of AI stuff on this thread and on the Holy Shit thread.
Same as our parents sending us FW: FW: FW: FW: e-mails when we were in college.

Sure, but that one is really, really bad. And that’s before the sora watermark.

Sure, some can be funny, but definitely not “cool” on 99% of them.

I agree with you on all points.

Fran Tarkenton?

I still very much appreciate the fact that he was going to fight him even though none of his teammates were around and was willing to get thrown out of the game.

But they’re in full pads and helmets.

Pads back then were pretty shitty, they ended up on concrete, and he was taking on a DB by himself

@Armybrat remembers something like this (not a joke about his age, he's talked about color TVs before)

Only if you were one of 5 people in the world to own a color TV at the time.

I don’t recall when I first saw a color tv, but it might have been in the late 1960s at my parent’s house.

I do remember seeing the first b&w tv at the bar in the Fort Leavenworth Officer’s Club about 1949 or ‘50. It was a round tube screen about 12” diameter. It picked up a station in Kansas City.

Then we were stationed in Puerto Rico 1950-54 (no tv stations there), followed by a stint in St. Louis 1954-57 (1 b&w tvchannel). After that off to Taiwan until 1959 with no tv there either.

Finally back to Austin with its one b&w channel owned by the LBJ family. Never saw a football game in my life until we got settled in Austin and I was a high school freshman.
