well would you expect anything less from Mr. Ewers?

You guys are wrong. Its everyone elses fault for not perfectly protecting him on every play and running perfect routes on every play. Also Sarks fault for not calling perfect plays every time.

there is literally no DB in front of the WR if that pass is placed towards the end zone.

We are talking about two different plays but i will bite. In OT he threw the fade to the opposite shoulder away from the DB and you guys were bitching that it was a shitty throw. Then on the play you are talking about he SHOULD'VE throw the ball over the opposite shoulder just as he did on the throw everyone was complaining about.

Quinn is who he is.  He’s not magically changing anything about his game in two weeks. He is a major detriment that will keep this team from winning a national championship with the most talented roster since 2009. He’s good enough to beat 80-90% of the teams we play, but not the ones that you need to beat to win a title.

Sure, we probably win a home playoff game (but I’m not 100% sold on that either), but I have little to no faith in Quinn at this point to win a game against a top flight team. The win last season at Bama has proven to be the exception, not the rule. The kid simply cannot be relied upon to consistently put the team on his back and go score a td in crunch time.

The book on him has been out for quite some time now.  Pressure the receivers because he’s going to consistently go for the checkdown if his first read isn’t there and he’s not consistent enough with deep balls to punish you throughout a game.  At some point his poor footwork fundamentals, poor pocket presence, or poor decision making is going to kill a drive and he’s either going to turn the ball over or make some boneheaded throw that ends in a fg instead attempt instead of a td.

Quinn is the Chris Simms of this generation. An uber-heralded QB who never lived up to the hype and their flaws kept ultra talented teams from a championship.

Where does Quinn end up getting drafted? Serious question.

I think I’d be nervous has hell to do anything more than take him in the 3rd-4th and let him marinate for a couple years.

I wouldn't trust any of the QBs in this draft class; it's incredibly weak.  Anyone that wastes a draft pick on QE is a fool.  He's barely an average college QB.

I'm going to say this tonight, hopefully once, with great clarity:

Go sit, spin, and fuck yourself.  You are the worst.  You have chosen Quinn Ewers as your whipping boy and you haven't the foggiest as to what is going on.  Is he perfect?  No.  Are you a cunt (and this is the very first time in my life I've used that word?)?  Yes.

Fuck you, you fucking pussy.  Grow up.

Suck Quinn's dick more....dude is the reason we won't win a championship. Yet you dickfaces are here defending him like he's some amazing fucking QB. Dude is above average at best.

I'm guessing 5th round. His tape isn't impressive, and his injury history and shitty mechanics are going to end up scaring teams.

Honestly, he should use his last year of eligibility and get more snaps.

For that to be 6 he would've had to throw it over the opposite shoulder. You know.....how he did in the ez to the same receiver that couldn't track it. You guys are nothing if not predictable.

What are you talking about? Moore was wide open with more than a few steps on the nearby defenders. He can track a well placed ball if Quinn doesn’t moonball it with a stupid trajectory. And the other end zone throw was dropped because Quinn threw it short and the WR had to turn around and come back to the ball because it was under thrown even though he had a step on the defender.

Quinn was throwing some nice lasers in the crossing routes in the middle of the field during the game. That was impressive and something we hadn’t really seen all year. But these under thrown and overthrown moon balls are shit and you can’t admit that Quinn has any faults in his game by blaming his WRs and the OL anytime things go wrong. That throw was an awful decision by Quinn to a guy who was more than wide open heading toward the end zone.

The teams that had success on them ran their qb’s. We couldn’t because of feelings. Haynes King torched this group. I’m so fucking tired of defending this guy. Thank god for PK and NIL

1. College QB sack yardage is subtracted from their rush yards. Sam was a threat to run the football abd denses had to account for it. He hung 48 on OU and ran all over Kirby Smart’s defense.

2. The Tebow reference is irrelevant. Tebow played for Urban Meyer’s UF teams that were loaded with talent. Sam had to play for some of our shittiest rosters with a coach that’s currently struggling fired at Florida Atlantic.

I don’t think this assessment is far off, but I’d never talk down on a Texas player like that. The criticism, is warranted. Let’s keep it about Football though.

Uh, come again? He threw the ball inside on a route clearly designed to have that ball be thrown outside. I was watching the SECN broadcast during that drive and if I recall correctly, the phrase “terrible throw,” was used.

Yeah if I was a GM, hard to pick higher than that… also hard to imagine him being something other than a career backup at this point.

That’s not my homework, that’s YOUR counterargument. You sound like the whiny Georgia fans after that game. The only starter of relevance that was at all referenced was the CB I mentioned. Either way, it doesn’t change the face that Sam was 10x the running threat and was significantly harder to sack than fragile Ewers.

Their defensive tackle Jordan Davis, their linebacker D’andre Walker and yes their Thorpe award winner Deandre Baker dumb mother fucking idiot.

Ewers is at the point with his injury history that he better cash in on the NFL even if he's a late-round pick.

He's shown zero ability to stay healthy.

I sent that same gif to someone who played DB at one of our rivals, a long time ago. His son will likely be a Top prospect in the coming years. his reply:

"Gotta throw it upfield with air. If he puts in on the front pylon and it’s a TD"

Doesn’t have to throw for 5 tds. If he throws for two tds it’s a win. But if the kicker nails two almost gimmes it’s a win as well. The offense was adequate.

Maybe. Maybe not. There's no telling how the game would have played out had those FGs been made. That was early enough in the game that Georgia could have responded differently. Not that I'm excusing Auburn here at all. He's been flaky on longish FGs this season.

A false start didn't help on one of those missed FGs either. I think Quinn's impact was certainly greater and that shouldn't really be debatable given he's the QB. A single TD with an assumed extra point certainly outweighs two FGs.

I don't know to what extent his injuries/lack of recovery affected this game, but whatever the reason, he squandered many opportunities. And I thought he started out the game relatively well overall (commented on that in the game thread). He exercised some poise in the pocket and maneuvered to extend plays early on. But he seemed not up to the moment end of Q4 and in OT regardless of what one thinks of the play calls.

Really annoyed with a lot of the shoot-ourselves-in-the-foot, legitimate penalties too. I think those were probably the difference in the game alone. This was a razor thin close outcome.

I could see some QB desperate P4 team throw a stupid amount of money at Quinn to portal and use his last year of eligibility. If his draft grade is day 3, he might be smart to take it.

Walker was injured. I’ll give you one DT… doesn’t really change my point about what Sam could offer this roster and staff over what Ewers has shown this year.

Good franchises won't reach for a round 5 talent in round 3 just because the draft class is thin. That said, there are plenty of dumb GM's out there that might end up doing it.

We ran the ball down Aggys throat for 4Qs straight. Yet somehow it was still a game. Why was that?

That is correct. That throw you are talking about to Moore was thrown over the wrong shoulder. The throw I am talking about was the OT one and it was thrown over the correct shoulder but people here said it was thrown wrong because Moore looked the wrong way.

I was okay with Quinn over Arch because Arch would theoretically be more prone to costly turnovers and taking big sacks (pun kind of intended). The strength of Quinn's game was he protected the football, almost to the point where he was too careful at times. That was all good, but the past two weeks, he's turned it over 4 times and taken a bunch of sacks, making it tough to convert first downs and making for longer field goal attempts. You can try blaming away the turnovers on everyone besides Quinn, but turnovers are turnovers and you could argue it could've been worse. I'm pretty sure Arch could've matched or exceeded Quinn's stat line, with the added dimension of the defense having to account for a running QB.  And I'm absolutely sure Arch could have hit the 5 yard pass that Moore turned into 41 yards, and our only TD the entire game.

Batted ball at the line. Fumble trying to run. Blocked punt. Somehow you guys think all 3 of those are Quinn's fault.

Texas 2106 yds on 4.7 ypc

Oregon 2051 yds on 4.8 ypc

Georgia 1539 yds on 4.2 ypc

If only we could run the ball like those other good teams.

Your idiocy knows no bounds. Both throws were wildly inaccurate such that the shoulder he threw to was completely irrelevant. He was short and wide on both and Moore couldn't get so much as a finger on either one.

It ended pretty much like the Wash game last year. Quinn has hit a wall. He Peter Principled. Time to work Arch into the offense.

Gotta believe Arch woulda put more points on the board tonight than Quinn. He woulda done it differently. Not sure how, but can almost guarantee he woulda come away with between 50 and 100 yards rushing. Throw that in your offensive pipe and smoke it.

I know you’re just doing your job as Quinn’s PR guy but the excuses you are making for Quinn is the type of shit that makes fans more pissed off because there is never any accountability for anything Quinn does. That was a horrible throw as seen from the QB POV but all you can say is that Quinn didn’t throw it better because the WR can’t track the ball. Like what? Just admit Quinn made a shitty throw. Even the Quinn doubters on here can admit when he makes a damn good play like he was doing on the crossing routes, but the Quinn devotees can never admit fault when he misses wide open guys all over the field.

Quinn Ewers is a multi-millionaire because of Texas. Every bit of criticism is valid. Do you think this dude is in a national Dr. Pepper commercial playing at Texas Tech?
