I've seen both of these coaches do it over the years, and it's not just them.

Jamie Dixon damn near ended Kevin McCullar's career by being to close to him on a 3 point shot back in 2022.

Spots where Jamie Dixon will post up in the next game...

Fuck the refs and their anticipation bullshit.

Bigger than that- fuck Tech and not running any offense after multiple stops on the defensive end.

Duck and chuck offense sucks moose cock.

TCU played their asses off on D.

Tech looked lost/ lazy/ bigtime settling for 3's.

Micah Peavy...damn son... if only.

They shot well above their average and we did a lot of dumb stuff. I would guess we win 3/5 games against them.

I wish Peavy had stayed, McCasland would have been perfect for him.

Would have been nice to take this one, but I'm not upset at that loss. TCU is very good.

I said I would happily take a 2-2 split in this stretch of games we just played (@UH, BYU, @OU, @TCU) and we got it so I don't really have shit to complain about. TCU defended us differently than anyone else has, probably a lot of good film for the coaches to go over.

anyone here been to the big 12 tourney last few years? Gonna try and go this yr. Used to go every year in the early 00’s with my old man when it was at Kemper. Watching Marcus Fizer push Mihm and our guys around and osu was salty with desmond mason. Also HATED and those good ou teams with najera and price. anyway, fuck those guys

I see its at t mobile now. Is that good area to stay, drink, eat, etc? better than kemper old area near the river? I remember KC always being great hosts and a good time

I went since it's been at T Mobile, and had an absolute blast.  It didn't hurt that ISU beat KU that year to win the thing.

We stayed near the Plaza and would party in the Westport area until 2 hours before tip.  Then we'd Uber up to the Power & Light District for the final pre-game push and usually hang out for a few after the game before heading back to Westport to finish the night.

That plan might not be as great for a UT fan, because a lot of the bars in that neighborhood basically get taken over by various northern fanbases.  IE Kelly's Westport Inn is the ISU bar during the Big 12 tournament.  Lots of KU and KSU bars in that neighborhood too.  I do think people enjoy seeing the farther away fanbases show up though.

Generally, I find Westport a more fun area to hang out than P&L.  The P&L set up is really cool, but the bars/restaurants themselves are far more generic.  It's really fun getting all the fanbases mingling in one spot there.

I have fond memories of the tourneys from 1999-2003 or whenever the last year was, then moved to Dallas for a couple of years I think.  Speaking of the northern fanbases, my only experience with the ISU/KSU/KU fans were at the FEC and football games.  So never ran into large groups other than KU fans when they were in town.  I remember the 2000? tourney specifically.  I was shocked how many ISU fans showed up for it, just PACKED with them.  Their tourney games seemed like home games for them.  Even ran into and partied with some hot ISU coeds that were huge bball fans. (that may have affected my drunken view but still fun).  Was a little surprised, was expecting all large, corn fed womenz from those fanbases.  It was also the first time I'd seen hardcore tailgating for 1) basketball and 2) in balls cold ice/snow.  I think it was the year you had fucking Fizer and Tinsely.  Fuck those guys too.

Not too worried about areas that would have a lot of north fans, never really had any trouble with those group of schools.  KU fans will always be mostly pricks but wouldn't blink hanging at an ISU or other school bar/area.  Granted, all those schools hate UT a lot more than they did 20 years ago so who knows.

I've legit never understood why people from Texas think that women from northern states are fat toads.  I've been to a grocery store in Texas and seen the scooter women.  I mean, there's plenty of hot women too, but I've never been one for assigning attractiveness to geography (with the exception of course of Lincoln, NE).

You won't get much shit from the ISU crowd at the tournament, or KSU either.  Yes, the schools hate Texas now, yes you will see a ton of horns down.  That's probably where it ends.  I just meant you might not enjoy being the clear outsider.

ISU's love of the Big 12 tournament has kind of become this thing that people either view with a sense of mild awe, or nose-in-the-air derision, but having been a part of it, it's pretty simple to me.  It's an excuse to take a few days at the end of winter and go somewhere that's close enough to be really accessible (it's barely over 2 hours from Des Moines to KC), but just far enough to feel like you're getting away all in order to watch your team and party your ass off with other like minded hoops fans.  KU fans love to shit on it, but it's just kind of a rivalry sort of thing.  If the tournament were in Des Moines, you'd see droves of KU fans up there taking over bars.

For the same reason half the people on this board/in this state can't see that it's run by morons who are at best incompetent, and at worst literal criminals.

For the same reason that a sizeable chunk of the our population thinks Texas would survive a month if we actually seceded from the union.

For the same reason that, for some reason, people think Texas is a tax haven for anyone but the giga rich and corporations, despite the fact that we we are taxed to the gills, just in different ways.

The list goes on. And on. And on. We are stupid.

This applies to everywhere though.

You seen chicks from jersey or ohio? Just kidding.  Sort of. I've probably been to those places too often along with Pennsylvania. Seriously though, I wasn't knocking fatties or homely chicks in the midwest or rust belt.  Please don't judge, I was "surprised" as a young, drunk idiot in his early 20's.  Watched too much MTV probably.  Now an older and wiser man of integrity, I know that big girls will work much harder for your love and will be good to you.   Never discriminate, appreciate all size ladies (a little below Vic's level though).  Nebraska has always disappointed though, as you mentioned.

Oh, I'm not judging you.  I'm just commenting on the silly trope.  The ridiculousness of Texas provincialism has always fascinated me.

oh my god. if isaacs had hit that shot, that cincy player who scored would have had a heart attack and died. all he had to do was run out the clock, but he gave TTU one more chance, and isaacs was six inches away from sending it to OT. wild ending.

Did not have that one on my bingo card. Glad we got we got out of there with a win.

Any Big 12 venue not a death trap? Murderers row going through this conference.

Cincinnati is pretty good.

Only 4-5 in the Big 12 but will likely be a top 30 Kenpom team after this win. That's just how brutal this league is. The good news is that win on the road for Texas looks nice.

Our two losses at home were Cinci and Houston.

Yeah considering the circumstances of the game, I'm not really burned up about it. We have a serious depth problem that has been somewhat cleverly hidden by McCasland & Co. but having even one guy out of the rotation is devastating to us right now. Rumor is at least 4 of the guys playing have the flu, too. Sucks. Still could have won with a little more effort but it is what it is.

e: Also Cincy is a hilariously bad matchup for us. They're tall, long, and athletic and we are overall pretty small outside of one 7 footer.

gallagher iba is probably the easiest place to play today, which is wild, because historically it was probably the toughest place to play in the league, save maybe PAF where every game is 5 vs 8. road games in this league are perilous. i’m really gonna miss this league when it comes to hoops.

If Cincy jumps 2 spots in Kenpom after tonight's win they will be the 10th big 12 team in the Kenpom top 30.

The next closest conferences are the SEC and Big 10 with 4 teams in the top 30. This conference is truly insane in men's basketball and here I was thinking it might be a down year.
