Well if you want to take the presumptuous and doubling down on name-calling as a position, have some rancor.

1. Dismissing what someone says as stupid, moronic, or idiotic based on a premise you don't really articulate says more about your mind than anyone to whom you direct your vacant claims.

2. You are so unjustifiably sure of yourself that you claim I am pretending about my opinion. I actually name my statements as opinions. You proclaim absolute truth supported by disdain for any who disagree. Here, eat dick, you fucking moron if you don't agree with me. Hey, I just crushed whatever you think your argument is. Neato! I guess that really is persuasive.

3. The main point I and others are making is not to take Arch down a dark road and bury him alive. Here's the line of reasoning. I know I'm wasting my time because you will destroy it by writing that I'm not serious and that my position is really really stupid. I'll likely weep.

a. Arch Manning is objectively struggling to find open receivers and throw accurately to those he does find. Many promising completions have been limited by his ball placement retarding the speed of the receiver.

b. We have lost twice to competitive teams (even though it's possible Florida won't be very competitive with anyone else). Many elements caused those losses. Pay attention now, other players poor play does not excuse the problems Manning has had as described in a. above.

c. Amid the futile plays at the end of the game in hopes of scoring against Florida, Caldwell has to go in and makes the only competent QB play of that possession.

d. It's actually not uncommon to play a player who has shown, in game, that his experience may pay off nicely by succeeding at some of the easy reads and throws that dog the starter.

e. You don't fucking know how good Caldwell is. Nobody is saying he's VY. You keep harping on his time at Troy. The same coach that chose Manning chose this guy as a viable back up. Should I put more stock in Sark's evaluation or yours? (I know. I know. I'm just pretending that's a reasonable statement. Ya got me.)

f. You defend your position like that skinny blond guy begged us to leave Britney alone. The difference is that he was joking. Enough with, oh he'll die behind that line, he tries so hard, he really isn't playing poorly, nobody in the world should be put in. Translation: stick to losing if it means I can hold my jackass position that not even God in heaven should bench him for a series.

g. Yes, only a series or more if Caldwell moves the ball. That's all we're saying. Who is actually being unreasonable here?

@Thatguy's analysis and explanation are persuasive. Your claim about the hopelessness of the one play perfectly illustrates your odd desperation. Deny your eyes all you want but maybe keep it to yourself. What's going on here is pretty much self-immolation. We're growing sad for you.

I know for some this is tldr. For you, it's likely too long can't understand it. Now fuck yourself along and toss another spurt at the Arch altar.

The play is the play Roma. Its not opinion. This isnt politics. He either saw it or he didnt. That said I have never wanted Arch benched. The argument was simply about what he shouldve done. Nothing more. Quit trying to make me Derka who disliked Quinn from season one on. I hope Arch kicks ass tomorrow. Im just pointing out what Im seeing.

Yep. And what does that tell you? He isnt processing what he is seeing.

I don’t disagree with that on the presnap side. I just think if he doesn’t make that presnap read, he’s never getting that throw. And he currently isn’t going to change his presnap 1st choice as he doesn’t get it yet.

Have you ever seen an offensive minded coach who didn’t wanna stack the skill positions and score a ton of points to the detriment of the defense and be aggressive a lot? Seems like defensive minded coaches are the opposite. Protect the defense with a slower offense and conservative play.

what's real weird is sark seems to recruit dline better than oline lol

Am I doing that or do you mean the person I was responding to? I don't see you (or myself) as Arch haters. I'd be delighted to see Arch destroy OU.

Now that I think about, you're responding to me saying "we." Sorry if I errantly included you in something. I do appreciate the lessons.

It’s a big assumption that he doesn’t get YAC or that the defender makes or whiffs the tackle retard autist. And the bigger point is the catch is a better result than a sack

I don’t think he catches the ball. I think people look at these and make the assumption that the exact reaction will occur. That DB will be all over the WR, if Arch is looking at the WR and even makes a hint of throwing it to him.  He is 5 off with hips parallel to the LOS and coming down and Arch isn’t even looking that direction. He is in great position.  The QB has to go through the motion of throwing and the ball has to travel 20 yards. He isn’t catching the ball. I was merely saying even if he did, he will be short

You cut up a 1 route clip and said Arch picked the wrong WR like he had a choice. Derka would not go that far.

You don’t realize that arch should process the other side the field first then come back. There is a look off. This is basic shit that should have been identified pre snap. Be should know that combo is there

I've undertaken a comprehensive survey of every hall of fame NFL quarterback.  The results are shocking.  What I learned is there is actually a talent delta for each of these players between their high-school years, first year starting in college, and peak NFL output.  This leads one to believe that maybe, just maybe, QBs develop over time and get better with more experience.

I'm still sitting here trying to process this stunning revelation.

Take away his two Super Bowl wins and Eli himself was a pretty average qb

Again, I am not @Derka. I am not pissed at my quarterback for coming from a perceived higher station in life. This isn't fucking teams. I told you so's ended against OSU. Its winning time now. I just want him to play better, and in the long run he will. I've said that 100 times. Being critical of his play doesn't mean I want him to fail. Move on from that bullshit.

I truly think he will get there Hobbes. My personal opinion is that not being challenged in high school made his learning curve a lot steeper than it would be if he came from 5 or 6a ball. He had all day to look around in high school.

Yeah I remember this guy who did incredible things the second half of his rs soph year and his junior year. His rs freshman year and the first half of his rs soph year, he did some great things and some freshman/sophomore things. I rememeber some people on here saying some really smart things about what to do with him, like "We should move him to TE". IIRC he wore #10 on his back.

Ya know, before the season started I said they were crazy to rank us #1 with a new qb, like they so often do. Preseason polls are stupid, and this year's was no exception. It's like they do it on purpose, so they can make hay off of the #1 team falling from the top of the hill (I stated that as a theory, but we all know it's 100% intentional). But my assessment didn't even take into account the losses we incurred on the OL. Putting us at #1 was literally insane ... just as insane as blaming our offensive woes on one guy when the entire offense has personnel issues and the play calls are being made by a guy who shouldn't be making them.

I agree Manning's HS competition sucked and was comparable to SPC.

But, he's been in the program 3 years. He should have a better feel for the game's speed from running the scout team and practice reps vs our 2's and 3's. He performed better last year, in limited PT. Maybe he's just a choker.

Exactly. It's not like he's a true freshmen or even redshirt freshmen. He's been going up against this level of talent for 3 years leading up to this season.

I'm just tired of hearing about his HS competition and learning curve. He should be over that shit in year 2.

If not, we fucked up his evaluation.

Seriously watch Ty Simpson play and how fast he goes through his progressions. FYI Simpson went to a HS with just 500 people in Tennessee as well.

You've got Sayin confused with someone else. He went to HS in Carlsbad, CA.

That's a good program, comparable to 5A or 6A in TX

Name another

I don't know if the is satire or not but, I'm just going to name 5 stars by position of people who were super hyped up and we all know that are busts from 2015-2023.

QB:

Garrett Gilbert (DOA; wrong system, is blind)

Ryan Perriloux (meh at best)

Malachai Nelson (DOA; causality for this class) 2023

Connor Weigman (horribad; DOA) 2022

Rhett Bomar (DOA)

Mitch Mustain (bleh)

JT Daniels (DOA; journeyman)

Max Browne (DOA)

Spencer Rattler (DOA; a slight revival at USCe)

Gunner Kiel (DOA)

Blake Barnett (DOA)

Jacob Eason (DOA)

Shea Patterson (DOA)

Jeff Driskel (DOA)

Jevan Snead (RIP. Still a bust in college, imo)

DJ Uiagalelei (considered one of the biggest bust of all time. I saw some brainlet compared Manning to him. Derp) 2020

Sam Huard -(DOA) 2021

Drew Allar (not really a bust, per se, but he is far removed from his #3 overall rank) 2022

Nico Iamaleava (average. Potential potential potential is all I hear, but his #2 ranking says nah, son) 2023

Jackson Arnold (#10. Holy shit. Nothing to see here)

RB:

Johnathan Gray (injuries)

Isaiah Crowell (dumbassary)

Demarkcus Bowman (one of the most baffling recruitments and disappearances I've ever seen)

Jermie Calhoun (turd wrapped in queef sauce)

Demetrius Summers (DOA)

Darrell Scott (one of the most hyped and disappointing players at his position, ever. Thanks, CU!) 2008

Trey Sanders (DOA)

Zack Evans (lulz)

Kevin Grady (DOA)

Derrick Green (vaguely remember him)

Maurice Clarett (his own undoing)

Tavien Feaster (DOA)

Cam Akers (inconsistent at best, 1k rusher, but didn't tmive up to top 10 hype)

Zamir White (#[ RB lAbsolute suck. Only real RB ahead was D'Andre Swift)

John Emery Jr. (#1 RB one of the biggest busts not named Darrell Scott)

Rueben Owens (#2 RB behind Baxter. Gawd awful at his job. Averages close to 3.5 ypc with 3 TD's  for his career. For comparison, Baxter averages close to 5 ypc)

WR:

BJ Johnson (#1 WR #7 overall)

Bru McCoy (likes to abuse women, sucks)

Johntay Cook (see below)

Darius White (fuck this guy)

John Chiles (I believe was a 5 star, correct me if wrong)

Fred Rouse (likes to catch felonies)

Weedy Noil (damage to frontal lobe, dumbassary)

Demond Demus (woman abuser, dumbassary, karma)

Dorial Green-Beckham (dumbassary)

Julian Fleming (#1 WR #4 overall) 2020

Whitney Lewis (#[ WR. sucked. Transferred)

Donovan Peoples-Jones (#2 WR. average. Had potential, but wrong system. Somehow is collecting a check in the league. Sucks there, too. Baffling) 2020

Terrace Marshall Jr. (below average at best)

Jadon Haselwood (colossal bust; never do horns down. Cursed)

Kyle Ford (turrible)

Kayshon Boutte (injuries and ducking)

Chris Marshall (#1 WR. People doing rankings are tards. fucking LULZ. Earned) 2021

Zachariah Branch (#7 overall. For his top 10 rank, absolutely not) 2023

Nyck Harbor ( #15 overall. speed demon. Has never broken more than 375 yards in a season. Has 5 TD's for career. He's here for now until he proves his) 2023

TE:

Arik Gilbert (#1 TE; consider him dead. At fourth school) 2021

Jeremy Ruckert (#1 2017, lack of stats/production)

Baylor Cupp (#1 TE. colossal bust for the aggies) 2018

Duce Robinson (#1 T/#19 overall. Doesn't play traditional TE, but numbers are still ked. Makes JT Sanders look like George Kittle by comparison) 2023

Oscar Delp (#1 TE; see Duce) 2022

Jake Johnson (#2 TE; irrelevant) 2022

Jaleel Skinner (#3 TE; irrelevant) 2022

Thomas Fidone III (#1 TE; average if I'm being nice) 2021

Tommy Kraemer (#3 ranked, ND. Fail)

OL:

Mason Walters (injuries and he was meh)

Foster Sarell (#8 ranked, Stanford Fail. Collects an NFL paycheck. Flummoxed) 2017

Tyler Johnson (woukd rather make trap house music, we'll never know if he can't play football very well. With third school) 2018

Tray Allen (gawd awful, may be due to coaching or suckery) 2007

Tommy Brockermeyer (fuck the Brocks. Deserved) 2021

DB/S:

Denver Harris (like to live on the edge and put others in danger. Dumbfuck)

Terrance Brooks (Slower than constipating a cement brick. Terrible) 2021

BJ Foster (holy wet turd, Batman!) 2018

Drew Kelson (don't get me started)

Eli Eicks (injuries and sucks collects paycheck. NFL is repeatedly stupid) 2020

James Williams (#10 overall, MIA Fail. Plays LB now. See above) 2020

Cormani Clain (#14 hissy fit, left CU, had to walk on at UF, earned scholly in Jan. Hasn't broken more than 13 tackles in 3 years, has 2 INT's so Far) 2023

AJ Harris (UGA DB #27 overall. Below mid)

 LB:

Dylan Moses (maxed out in 11th grade)

Willie Williams (everyone knows this mf'er)

Ben Davis - (wet shit)

Baron Browning (#10 ranked, did not live up to hype)

Robert Barnes (OU, sucked)

Marcel Brooks (colossal bust; tweener LB/DE)

Owen Pappoe (bust Hard) 2018

Justin Flowe (Man, huge, huge bust)

Harold Perkins (great frosh season, then he's been meh. Has never lived up to his #5 ranking. Not even close. Pretty much positionless since he can't play ILB or OLB because he's too small, and he's basically just a pass rush specialists. Has never once broken 100 tackles in a season. Compared to Ant Hill, he might as well be nonexistent) 2022

DE:/DL

Ronald Powell (Fail)

Eyabi Oki-Anoma (#3 overall.  Saban's fault.) 2018

Adepoju Adebawore ( #9 overall.OU. Well below average for a top 10 DE. Maybe he's behind others, but he's done zero. South Austin's mom wouldn't fuck this ou scrub)

Trenton Thompson

Antonio Alfano

Byron Cowart

Darius James

Marvin Wilson

Korey Foreman (#3 overall) 2021

Leonard Taylor III (#4 overall) 2021

Gabriel Downlow-Dindy (#11 overall. Fucking Lulz)

Anthony Lucas (below average at best) 2022

DJ Hicks (#11 overall. Unless some force of good strikes him, he's terrible. Has yet to break 20 tackles)

Da'Shawn Womack ( #26 overall.so far a bust)

You get the gist, I'm tired of naming them, there's just so many. Also, I do not believe Arch will be a bust at the end of the day. He absolutely needs another season, but he won't be a bust. Even Andrew Luck sucked his first season. No, that doesn't make me feel better, nor do I believe he'll be Andrew Luck, but it does offer perspective to those who are panicking.
