They shouldn’t.

Theyre 13-11 in road/neutral games.

Maybe they didn’t play the dregs of the conference, but they did play UF  and the Aggies when they were playing like dregs of the conference.

Since April 1st, they’re 5-2 in mid week games.  Two 1 run wins (a 1 run loss).

We are 16-7 in road/neutral games.

We are 5-1 in midweek since April 1.

They got swept at home by Pig.  Pig swept us at their place.  They lost 2 of 3 at OU including 1 run rule.  We won 2 of 3 with the loss being a lost lead late.  They swept UGA at home.  So did we.  They swept UK at home.  We lost in 15 on the road.  Of the top 4 SEC teams, they only played 1.  At home.  We played 2 including 1 on the road.  That MSU team we swept on the road was 1 game behind UTenn and Bama (MSU won 2 of 3 at Bama).  We finished 3 games ahead of them.

Even in the SEC tournament, they got the #3 choices for OU and UTenn.  We got the UTenn pitcher of the year.

Any system that counts a game against a college #3 starter the same as the #1 pitcher of the year falls short.

Vandy gets a bump because they swept the #39 Xavier.  A Xavier that had a 5 game SEC stretch in early April.  Lost by a combined 57-9.  And 31-5 in the non-Vandy games.  Best win is over Creighton, but they lost 3 to them.  They’ve split with UConn.  Swept by St. John’s.

All good points, yet you ignore the most salient: We are the Evil Empire and the committee fucking loves the Vandy Boys.

You may be correct.

That damn whistler should count against them though.

For us, our draw will be fine.  Maybe not ideal but to host the Regional and Super is the key.

If we end up seeded behind either Georgia or Auburn, Ima cut a bitch!

RPI seemingly doesn’t work anymore with super conferences.

When do we go after some of aggy’s players? There’s a couple we can use.

No way aggy would let us get any of their “stars”.  Maybe get some fresh/soph that Schloss recruited who didn’t really play…but I sure hope we have better transfers lined up.

They were swept by previously winless in SEC Missouri... At home, does Texas really want any of their players?

We would take Caden Sorrell in a heartbeat. Grahovac’s dad would give me pause.

They have some really good players. That wasn't the problem.

By the way congrats on the Regional Berth.

Seriously.  Texas was pretty mid last year and a new coach jumpstarted them to winning the best conference in baseball by adding a few key additions.

Coaching matters. Schloss will get the best of out of any of them who wants to jump ship a year later than they should have.

I feel like all those kids at aggy have been brainwashed to hate JS and their parents hate him also so don’t think any of them will come to UT. But transfer to our competitors I can see.

Tulo should be fucking fired no later than 7am tomorrow morning

Or what?

I don't even understand this. We scored enough runs to win all of those games.

I feel like I am stepping into some kind of insane land where baseball teams are just expected to score 20 runs a game. We have averaged over 7 runs a game since the Florida series. But somehow that was only good enough for a 4-4 record. The problem was not the hitting. What is going on?

Ok sure the hitting could have been better sure.

I would get it if we lost every game 1-0 or 2-1 or something. It wasn't like we were out there squandering amazing pitching performances.

Let's give the staff at least a year or two before everybody gets fired. Having said that, Tulo isn't Schloss' guy so he may not last long here anyway.

Losing sucks.  Give people time to vent, cool off, and see reason.  Patience isn't our strong suit.

Rough ending but we got cold at the wrong time. And I know everyone deals with injury, but we really did.

Badass season. Conference champs in first year under the new skipper, future is bright. 🤘

RIP "SEC Ready" 2023-2025

Yeah.... no. Losing in the regional isnt our standard and isnt a badass season. Yes the future is bright, but a regional flameout was pathetic and we shouldve beaten UTSA at home even in the worst of scenarios.

You know, it's OK to find bright spots.  Try it sometime.

A guy who couldn't play 'setting the standard' for guys who can... that's rich.

As for me, I tuned in the entire season, and watched us win a lot against a lot of great opponents. It was fun as hell. I can't control product on the field (my NIL donations, aside) so I enjoy what's enjoyable and I dont whine when things don't go my way.

Our standard is Omaha. End of story.

I don’t think Hornsby was setting any standard. The was Disch, Falk, Gus, and Augie.

Well, we suck.  We've fallen short of our "standard" more than 50% of the time.  (Just to elucidate:  we've been to Omaha 38 times in 78 seasons.  That's 48.7%.)

lol wut? That’s why it’s the standard.

What is going on with this board?

I'm not sure your point.  If we fail to meet our standard over half the time, we suck, right?

You should do that for the rest of teams and see the percentage

I was very excited to win the SEC in year 1. I have a good number of contacts in Louisiana and they're very aware of the noise we have made in all facets since joining the SEC. They all really did think we were going to get stomped by their superior conference. When we won the regular season, they begrudgingly texted me congrats but many knew I love college baseball and were actually cool about it and said we are clearly a problem. They pay close attention they knew we werent that good, yet we just kept winning.

For me, it just shows this squad consistently played above its level for a really long period of time. Long enough to win the conference. Then we came crashing back down to earth after the Arkansas series and it became clear, this really was a rebuilding year.

I think y'all are missing the point.

You'll have to forgive the angry baseball illiterati. They aren't done huffing and puffing and demanding that someone be held responsible for their disappointment.

It's why I've stayed away from the baseball board the last 48 hours. I shoulda made it 72 or more. Oh well.

My expectations for Year 1 under Schloss were very modest and far exceeded. Winning the SEC the first time out was fucking fabulous.

The end was disappointing, yes, mainly because so much more was certainly within reach. People forget - baseball happens. Augie constantly preached about what a cruel bitch it is, using different words but the sentiment was the same.

I am serene.

We will be back to making regular trips to Omaha in very short order, I have faith in that. The future is, once again, quite bright.
