That was an entertaining race.  I got a little peeved watching Lando celebrate like he had won it all on his own but I am talking about a sport where you see pats on the back for finishing 10th.  Wanted Hamilton to get the podium but it was much better seeing Hulk get up there instead.  19th to 3rd... I hope DTS plays this one up for him.  Oscar will make a good heir apparent to Max... I don't expect him(OP) to relinquish the DC lead.

Oscar is soooo much better a driver than Lando, but a dumb arse move to break that hard.

As mentioned above, he very much loves to fuck with Max and that is one reason why he is better than Lando, Oscar isn't scared of Max, and he is more competitive and a crafty sob.

I do agree that he had done similar things with the prior safety car and if there was no warning then the 10 second penalty was damn steep because you caused him the win. Understand he needs to be penalized, but you have drivers such as Ochon and the Divine Wind who wreck people out on a regular basis and do it every fucking race.

Not sure if Lando is the bigger Wanker than Zach Brown is a bigger miserable douche', maybe both, but if Oscar wasn't at McLaren they might be the most unlikeable top team in some time. At least with RB and Max and Lewis and Merc you felt like they deserved the wins.

10 seconds for that move was excessive, though, especially since there was no warning, as you mentioned.  If you're going to penalize him at all, 5 seconds should have been the max. Instead, they gave the race win to Lando.

Agree, a case could be made for stopping the race at one point the spray was so bad and they knew the front was going to pass fairly quick.

They didn't and opted twice for a safety car procession to dry up the surface a bit,  Oscar does the same maneuver the first time with no word and then they effectively decide the race with the penalty with this all could have been avoided for stopping the race for a 15 minute period.

If their motive was not to impact the race result with a stoppage that is exactly what they did by not issuing a warning and then dropping the hammer and once again fuck Zach Brown for being such an unlikeable, smug douche' when being interviewed.

I don't think a warning was necessary.  The drivers all know it's against the rules. The safety car was having trouble staying on track in some of the corners so it wasn't a great time to play games with Max.  I would say that probably contributed to him getting a 10 second penalty.

No car may be driven unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner which could be deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers or any other person at any time whilst the safety car is deployed.

Didn't George do the same thing in Canada and got no penalty?

He did.  Maybe they've talked about it in drivers meetings since then.  I really think the track conditions played a big role in this one.

Sauber sitting firmly mid-pack. Pretty damn impressive how they got their shit together. The Audi hires making an impact.

Even Max thought it was overly harsh in his postrace comments.  I hate to see a race decided like that.

It's definitely not ideal, but I can't get too worked up about it since it happened because Piastri was brake checking people on a wet track.

Yeah, but that's been a regular occurrence this year.  George did it in Canada.  Oscar said he did it at other times yesterday without penalty.  Just seems like the stewards went from 0-100 real fast on that penalty for something that did not impact anyone's race. And I can't stand Lando, so that's surely influencing how I feel about it.

They might have decided to make an example of him to put a stop to it.  The drivers are like little kids when it comes to stuff like that.

It was pretty much the perfect time to do it from F1's point of view if you think about it.  McLaren ended up with the exact same number of points and Lando won, so they weren't going to bitch too much about it after the race.  The drivers are going to immediately stop doing it also because no one will want to risk losing a race over it.

I'm optimistic about Audi.  What they did at LeMans a while back was very impressive.  Total domination for several years.

hahaha... no shit... during the race I kept telling my wife, "they're going to pit him so he comes in behind LeClerc."

Fortunately for Lewis, his Inters were shot and he had to come in when he did.

Good explanation,  I agree Oscar needed to be penalized, still think 10 was too harsh if the stewards didn't even warn him about the prior safety car, and agree on Lando and Zach acting like Lando drove a winning race.

I think if it wasn't wet, Oscar would have gotten 5. He could have caused a crash...

Facts. He won't do it again.

If that's what they want, go to the next driver's meeting and tell them the next driver to do it gets a 10 second penalty.  Don't care for the way they handled it.
