I know there's a lot of animosity towards him, but I'm fired up to see what Horner does next.  He's got people throwing money at him to buy a team.  Stoked to have another good team on the grid.

Even if that weren’t the case, it would still take a lot more bottling by McLaren for them to mess it up that badly.

They have done it before, though.

Well, they're not Ferrari-level bad, so I think they'll manage through it.

Horner without Newey has won exactly what?

I am not sure if Adrian will be part of a team that wins more titles, but his resume is fairly strong without Christian and which team is going to let him control all aspects of the team.

and once again, all three compound tires could finish the race with little deg.  Do better

Nah. The new F1 hates variabilty & excitement. That shit's for us old guys.

Easy fix. Hardest, softest and one in the middle. Have to run all three in the race and you only get two sets of each for the weekend (maybe a 7th set of the team’s choosing).

Oh yeah. You're preaching to the choir. There are all sorts of ways they could re-introduce some variability with tire choices alone, and in other areas too. But instead, they just do nothing, or go in the other direction.

German publication is pushing that Horner will be team Principal and CEO at …… HAAS.

Time to pay for your sins Mr. Horner.

Toyota is already Haas's technical partner. I've been thinking for a while that Toyota will take a larger role in the team moving forward. That makes Horner's move there make some sense imho, if he is indeed headed there.

Never happen, but if we wanted variability back:

Drop all electrification and the weight and cost that comes with it.

Reduce car size but at least 20%

Bring back refueling

We know one thing for sure, Gene isn't going to spend a penny if he doesn't have to. Bet we see Horner take an ownership stake like Toto.

Honestly, I'm fine with it.

They need to sell naming rights though, I fucking hate Haas.

Someone will burn to death live on camera if they bring back refueling. Will never, ever happen.

Yeah I hate that fucker too, but the only reason he's in F1 at all is to sell Haas machine tools to a broader, more international market and to network in the paddock. IMHO as long as he's the owner, 'Haas' will be on the cars.

This is a really hyperbolic, uninformed statement. All the crew wear fire retardant suits with extinguishers nearby and tons of other racing series, like WEC and IndyCar, have refueling without anyone dying or getting severely burned. There's no reason to think someone would die from it.

Would you characterize it as ... inflammatory?

OK. I'll show myself out now.
