Fasting, even intermittent fasting, increases my GERD unacceptable amounts. Any suggestions?

work out. And treat your GERD in the meantime.

Odd thread title change.

I wish we could combine this one with the longevity thread, but I am a thread minimalist.
I read these two more than the for-real fitness thread.

We already had a fitness weight loss thread and an old sucks thread I guess I’m in poor health is a thread we need and we will all be there eventually but I like a thread that’s about optimizing health not struggling with ailments or what pharma are you taking.

and I’ve been there so it’s sometimes needed.

I think we could probably merge all three threads.  They may have been intended to provide three discrete discussions -- exercise, weight loss, and longevity.  But I think all of those overlap on the broader discuss of physical wellness.

I like to hear about folks in my general demographic (50 years) finding different ways to stay physically active and healthy, with both exercise and diet, and in particular how those lifestyles are geared toward extending our life span.  And I don't need to lose weight, though my metabolism is nowhere near what it used to be so I do need to be more conscious of the amount and quality of calories I put into my body.  For those who are on a weight loss mission, I enjoy reading about and cheering on their progress.

You can still do that across threads. Once upon a time I lost considerable weight but I will say talking about weight loss when you don’t need to lose 50lbs isn’t helpful for those who are trying to lose a lot of weight and might even discourage them. There are tons of health topics like that. There’s a reason different topics related to health came to be. But idgaf in the end. Whatever it becomes it becomes.
