The new Duck and Dumplings place at Jones Maltsberger and Thousand Oaks is really good.

We went to a new place up in Spring Branch for brunch recently. Desert Spoon is the name of it. Smaller menu but everything tasted fantastic. I had the Mexican Shakshuka and it was full of flavor. It is attached to the garden place there on 281, so it is a nice setting.

I can't imagine what that area looks like now.  I lived in Eden (just down Thousand Oaks) in the mid-to-late 90s.  Loved the HEB.  My favorite liquor store was where the CVS is now.  There was a CD Exchange and some kind of bar/patio/half-assed-music-venue (Jack's, maybe?).

Good times...

Believe it or not, @midtown and I saw Cracker there.  Lot's of late 30's males at the show if I recall.  But yeah, had plenty of good times there.

Such a strange “venue”.

There was an awesome Mr. Gatti's at Jones Maltsberger and Thousand Oaks. Went to countless birthday parties there.

Also another arcade called Larzland the next intersection over (Thousand Oaks and Henderson Pass).

There's still a good liquor store there called Alamo City Liquors which probably has the best selection in SA after Spec's.

Green Spring Valley  in the 90s. Spent many a time in CD exchange.  What was the name of the decent Mexican joint behind the chevron? The place I miss was Marty's veranda on 281 between Thousand Oaks and brookhollow.

That Gatti's was in the original HEB location before they built the bigger HEB across the street.
