  • Regrettable situation, but from that vantage point, looks justified.

  • I do regret this happening. In my world, law enforcement legally discharging their duties aren't harassed and this situation never happens. I can't imagine what mindset puts these people there. Smilin

Something like 30% of Mexico decamped to the US, mostly illegally. How would you imagine to deport them without deporting your "brown people". You are a lawyer, I frankly expect better than cheap emot

One of the core issues is that shit like this is almost inevitable given the segment of the population that self-selects themselves to become ICE agents.

There’s no historic prestige associated with the organization. There’s no “I got an education” for enrolling. There’s nobody who is keeping a family tradition alive by joining a 20-year old organization.

The ONLY humans on the planet who would consider joining this group are ones who inherently see value in getting “others” out of this country by any means necessary.

That is a very specific subset of the population, and the Venn diagram between those people and ones who have the proper demeanor to be a law enforcement officer is almost guaranteed to be two separate circles.

This is an experiment designed to fail.

Fail? Only if you completely misconstrue the purpose of the experiment.

The purpose of the experiment is to create a massive paramilitary force for the express purpose of subjugating and terrorizing the public and being answerable to no one but the regime. And by that count....it could not be more successful.

They definitely ain't from around here. Got to penguin walk dudes. Does assault by sidewalk count toward the stats?

I mean, some Minnesotan with no criminal record is absolutely going to get assaulted because of that embarrassment.

You know everyone's pissed off and grouchy because there's been no "ice on ice" violence jokes, or even "ice can't handle ice."

Not for nothing, but you can tell a lot about a person by how they react to slipping on ice. If you pop right up, but aren't laughing, I don't want to be your friend.

Convicted felon currently breaking the law covering up the client list of a convicted felon/pedophile/best friend for 15 years who died in his administration's custody won't cooperate in a murder investigation because of corruption allegations from his political base.

They are crooked officials because he lost elections there? Ok.

I am starting to wonder if this woman wasn't one of the lucky ones. The rest of us still have to live in this world with this guy.

He’s been saying this shit about rigged elections and stolen votes for a fucking decade. If democrats were stealing elections you wouldn’t be president, asshole!

It seems pretty clear that a major purpose for these high-visibility, publicized operations is to bring ICE officers into highly-charged and emotional conflicts with political opposition-aligned citizens so they will be conditioned to dislike them and feel comfortable using violence against them.

Which makes for one hell of a distraction from the president's history of child sexual abuse

It's less "emotional conflicts with political opposition-aligned citizens" and more asymmetrical GOP "emotional conflicts with perceived team-aligned citizens". You saw it in the 2016 GOP primaries where every Republican candidate was saying the same thing the left was saying about Trump. Then they kissed his ass. You saw widespread condemnation of Trump within the GOP in the immediate aftermath of Jan 6, then within weeks, boink! Alex Jones got his start on Austin Access filming cops and making alleged law enforcement abuse his raison d'etre. On a recent Bulwark podcast, they point out a massive 35 point swing in opinion on getting involved in Venezuela amongst Republicans polled within a 3 week period after Trump took out Maduro (and left the rest of his party in power). There's very little "political" alignment involved. It's just whatever Trump wants today regardless of what he said yesterday.

Every American they murder actually improves our chances (meager as they are) that we wake up and put a stop to it.

Our chances might be meager, but they do exist, because the regime is likely playing this hand too soon.

Something tells me that if the officer that got "dragged" a little by Scottie Scheffler decided to put 3 holes in him in "self defense,", all of these defenders and justifiers would be completely absent. I wonder why that is...

Super dangerous job, requiring them to be masked up and armed to the gills.
