I enjoyed that episode.

Harry still owes Richie for the bullying while Harry was unarmed, and visiting in good faith.  The world owes Eddie an asskicking and his "leverage" is soon to evaporate. Harry's reaction was bullshit, but I'll play along. and now Harry also owes Kat 2X favors.

But hell, if there's never a call on those, WGAF?  Harry just sits there and smolders, while otherwise doing superhuman shit for others.

This show is too fucking stupid for Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine and Pierce Brosnan. It is making Brosnan and Mirren look like bad actors.

Cmon dude. Brosnan and Mirren’s characters are fucking cartoons. The plotlines have Harry doing way too much. It’s entertaining and I’ll keep watching, but this show is beneath all 4 of them. Beneath Ritchie too.

He’s Irish not Scottish.

I think the show would be better with gratutitous nudity and fucking.  Jan, Bella, and Alice all have at least a little in their CV.  Helen Mirren can lead the way.

I know he is. My point is it’s a cartoonish overdone accent.

You obviously didn't see that piece of shit Ritchie put out for his wife or the movie that followed that when he went M Knight on the plot.

He is capable of going pretty damn low at times, though most of the times he stays in his lanes and hits the mark.

Hey, just be glad we don't have a Pikey in the show then none of us would know what the fuck he was saying

So is Eddie actually Conrad’s son?  The “other brother”?

It’s Eddie.   Of course that makes Eddie the same to Maeve as Seraphina so I don’t get Maeve’s loyalty to Eddie unless she is about to turn on him.   Still wondering who Freddie named to get him thrown off roof.  I presume Maeve.

And Inwont be stunned to find out Kat is CIA or something.   This show has already gone Gangs of London bonkers with the end of the last two episodes.

Yeah and Kevin knows it. Brutal. I will say again, as hateful as he is, the dude who is playing Eddie is absolutely nailing it. It is going to be so glorious when Harry eventually kills him and every single person watching this show has gotta be on board with that.

Retract my previous comment about Maeve being smart unless there was some 4D chess manipulation going on there with Kevin. That was pathetic and not well written. To the point that I feel like I am missing out on some 4D chess by Maeve but I don't think I am, I think it was just that lazy. Really fun show and I can't wait for the next episode, but there is definitely some stuff that is going to keep me from putting it in the great category.

I suspected that the person "from Harry's organization" who is involved in the Fentanyl dealings was Harry's sidekick (the dude, not Xosia) since he was so hot to go get involved with things even after Harry told him to stay put.

I agree that Brosnan's acting leaves a bit to be desired (though I think that, like Maeve, the character is foolish and hard to take seriously) but I also wonder if that's intentional such that we almost view Conrad as an oblivious buffoon who doesn't realize that his time is over.

I don't know, Kiko seems pretty loyal.

saying that almost sent me into a Brick Top rant about being loyal like a dog

Yeah Conrad is definitely evolving with each episode, though maybe devolving is a better word. I guess it is intentional at this point, which is why I think our rat might be Harry himself. The obvious answer is Maeve but ask yourself who could Freddie have fingered that would result in himself getting thrown off of the roof? It would be Harry, followed by Jan and his stupid daughter, neither of which seems likely. I think Maeve being the rat is a red herring.

Also what's up with Colin and Richie, are we meant to believe that Colin served up Fisk and the other detective to get murdered my Richie? I think so but wasn't super clear.

I don't necessarily know whether Harry ever intended to let Freddie live after that meeting - the bit about how he and Kevin are going to push Conrad and Maeve aside and would he like a seat at the table just seemed like a lie designed to extract maximum information. So I don't think it's clear whether Freddie's death is directly tied to the identity of the renegade.

I also thought it could go either way with Fisk and his partner either being deliberately killed, or that it came as a surprise (though perhaps not that much of a surprise?).

Probably a bit of a stretch, but Colin could also be working on behalf of the Harrigans, and could have put this plan in place because the task force was getting too close to them.

Yeah they can definitely spin Freddie any way they choose, it was just what popped into my head at the time.

Who else knows it's me, Freddie?

Just me and Ritchie

(Throws him off the roof)

Probably some recall from The Departed dancing around in my brain.

I should've let all 10 episodes come out then binged them over a weekend

Funny, I remarked to Mrs. Doom last night how refreshing I find it to be tuning in once a week for a show I'm genuinely looking forward to, rather than devouring it over a few days and then immediately forgetting half of it.

the cops getting killed was a bit much, at least it would have been here. two cops shot multiple times and/or disappeared would provoke such a massive national media storm and manhunt in the US, it would be the only story for weeks/months and every criminal enterprise in the country would be in the crosshairs until somebody's head was on a platter lol

Eddie is definitely 'the other brother', and Maeve is okay/supportive with him vs. Seraphina bc she's racist duh.

show is fun.

difficult to discern what the motivations where for a lot of what happened in last week's episode.

found it a bit disorienting.

Agree but if this show is having multiple seasons Eddie ain’t going anywhere. I don’t want to be 77 years old waiting for Harry to kill him.

Suddenly, the show was about to premiere on March 30 on Paramount+. How fast was this train moving? It was only announced on March 17 that Janet McTeer had joined the cast. Well, it turns out that production on MobLand actually wrapped on March 26, just four days before its premiere. Apparently, scripts were being written as the show was being filmed. When MovieWeb spoke with the cast, they were just catching their breaths. For some actors, this helped their work.

Janet McTeer being the one who plays Kat Mcallister.  The series still good, but this explains why it feels the dialogues and plot did not have a chance to marinate and get refined

I’m ready for Maeve and Conrad to have their dirt naps. They deserve to die. Doing a deal with Jaime for double the cost of what Richie pays for fent makes no fucking sense. Did enjoy Kevin exacting his revenge and Harry helping Alice to bring the heat on Conrad.

I think we have much to learn in E10.  That song at the end is about a famous jail break done by 20 Irishmen sent to bust some Irish out of an English jail.

I think there are a couple scenarios.  I don’t think Jan is a shrinking violet.  Perhaps she and Harry are taking over.  Or this is a complex plan of conrad and Harry with the inspector to eliminate Stevenson, and Jaime’s deal is a short term deal.  Kat is the questionmark.

Im not sure what their play with Jaime actually is. Knowing how the cartels operate, and we all do, fucking with him isnt an option. Plus Jaime made it clear he is dealing with Harry not Conrad.

I predict it will be Harry, Jaime,  and Kat running shit at the end. Kat wil call in her favors to Harry: 1 kill Conrad and 2 kill Maeve.

the blonde lawyer is the rat?

This is what I picked up, too. Another thing that caught my eye was at the very end in the penultimate scene it shows Colin staring towards what seems like the house as Seraphina stares out of the house. Made it seem like they were looking at each other. Another possible rat? Are we just playing one big game of Clue?

It's definitely an interesting ride.

I will be astonished if Jan is willingly or knowingly part of a grand plan in any way.

Maeve is a fucking hoot. You have no idea what is going to come out her mouth and she means it.

I'm not so sure. I get the feeling she is lying her ass off to Eddie with all the showering of love she is giving him.

Excellent wrap for S1.  Pretty straightforward without any our more outlandish theories.  Did we see Eddie after the “event”?  Bella didn’t tell Kevin the whole story. Gonna get ugly.

My wife insisted Eddie was not shown again after getting punched. That whole "who is O'Hara double crossing?" sequence was well done. Are we supposed to believe that was merely a flesh wound for Harry? WTF??!!

I loved it. But yeah Eddie disappearing was sort of odd. I predicted a couple shows ago that I thought it was setting up for a Harry/Phina alliance vs a Maeve/Eddie alliance. Seems likely but I'm not sure how Kevin (and Conrad for that matter) fit into that picture. What happens with Colin is also going to be interesting. I like this show a lot, it's very fun. It has tons of plot holes and huge leaps and stuff but who cares. It's really fun and Harry is really easy to root for as a bad ass.

Was Maeve suggesting that she and Eddie should be a couple?  The "But your my Nan!" or whatever was weird.  How much I ultimately liked this episode has everything to do with how next season picks up.  Because I am not so sure right now.

Seems like Philomena is taking the call Harry won't with Kat, so I imagine that will be a huge source of friction next season.
