You mean the guy who tried to buy a championship before he died two years ago and now his estate is the owner of the team?

Which part? Crane not willing to overspend or the Padres trying to outspend the Dodgers and coming in second in terms of payroll and standings.

Man that some Astros level med staff stuff there.

"Oh you hurt your elbow? Dur da dur i think you good bro go back out there."

Goes back out next game and completely destroys elbow 1st pitch

End scene

You know who is not cheap, the owner of the Padres who was a top 5 payroll in a much smaller market than Houston. Crane not playing the game of keeping your top end talent is inexcusable. Especially with Bregman.

Our payroll is larger than the Padres.

Credit where due . . . that was a good win.

We still have issues.

Personally, I have found stumbling around and winning is far more preferrable than stumbling around and losing, but I am sure the glass was full, fell on the floor and shattered into a million pieces, and I cut up my bare feet while trying to get a broom, dust pan, and mop will be along shortly to tell us why we are all not seeing thw true big picture of this team.

So, everyone had some positive with a hit or a walk today in the top 7 but Rodgers and Dinon both did nothing positive.
Happy with 4-3 week. Could have been worse.

I think this is the slogan for the season so far.

Hey, we're 24-22 after 46 games. This time last year we were 20-26 and still had 5 weeks to go before reaching .500.

Shit, we were still a month from bottoming out (33-40 and 10 games back on 6/18 before winning 9 of next 10).

Understood, so what the fuck happened where he can grip a bat?

Seriously, if you are 27, aside from some autoimmune issue  what can possibly cause so much pain and discomfort you can't grab and hold a bat?

Maybe you’re on to something it’s always his joints ….

Yeah, all things considered this is about as good a record as could be expected.

Just stay above .500 and hope that when guys get healthy there's a second half run.  All we can do.

Maybe we'll finally dump Rodgers and let the kids play LF & RF

I am at a point where why the hell not?

Seriously, who are they going to throw out in left and right who are going to provide more offensively?

Might as well find out what Cam and Zach can do if you are going to keep them both up on the roster.

Mix in the other options from time to time, but give them the bulk of the work.

Would Shay Whitcomb be worse than Rodgers at this point?

790 radio discussion on this topic this morning was that Rodgers is the savvy veteran presence a team needs.  that you can't have 4/9 guys be rookies and 2nd year guys.

Can't say I agree with this but it does have some merit.  Whitcomb last year didn't do shit at MLB level, may just be a good AAAA guy.

He’s probably a Quad A guy. I can’t believe they think Rodgers who is brand new in Houston and a late addition to boot just can’t be replaced in a clubhouse with Altuve, Pena, Yordan, Framber, etc.

Also, Dubon is already filling the role of Good Clubhouse guy who sucks at hitting major league pitching.

A slapdick non-producer who talks em good in the lockerroom is a recipe for losing, in Rodgers.

There are already winners on this squad who aren't producing.

Crowd mics are great in this park.

they’ve got the “BEEEEER, beer ,beer, beer” guy at this park

edit: this guy:

who I heard yelling the same thing just now before the crack of the bat… on a Chas soft bloop RBI single.
