how the fuck did he not go turn two there?

Ok. Will take it. If they turned 2 Baltimore could have walked Walker and urias and pitched to the pitcher. Sucks to suck. Thanks birds.

Is that the first 2 pitch complete inning in MLB history?

Did this get discussed on TV, because Ford/Sparks didn’t mention it.
needs more attention as it’s never happened before in MLB history.

I thought we had it happen to us last year. Maybe not 2 pitches but only 2 hitters (like I said/ Altuve Tootblan) which was weird enough for me.

i saw the trammell bunt as his decision, as soon as it happened. he saw something. runner on 3rd needed to pay closer attention. that tells you there was no bunt call

no one asked post game about it

i was surprised he didn't go home, that's baseball basics. he would have been doa ....

Yeah, easy out at home there. Possible to get the double play at first too. Really dumb play by Gunner there.

Now that there’s the ability to not pitch to a guy / intentional walk with no pitches, you could even see a scenario where you have a 1 pitch inning if you walk the first guy and then get a triple play.

Hell I guess that is also possible (highly fucking unlikely though) to do in a regular inning if you intentionally walk the first two batters and then get a triple play….

This.

This COVID shit needs to be looked at again.
Just like the new college overtime which also sucks with the alternating 2 pt conversions. That sucks. Want to make it better? Make OT no kicking. Boom. Better. No field goals in OT. Just TD’s and 2 pt conversions from the start. That would incentive teams to try and ‘win it’ in regulation too… well at least in my non analytics brain it does…..That’s at least football. Not soccer penalty kicks BS.

I was watching something that stuck with me the other day in which someone said it’s now (unlikely) possible for you to throw a perfect game a lose.
9 inning of perfect but game 0-0. You go out into the 10th. Deep fly ball to deep right center. Runner advances in tag up.
Second batter deep fly ball to center. Tag up and score. And then you get 3rd out.

you’re down 1-0.

Your team does nothing and you lose.

So no hits, no errors, no base runners outside of the free one…. And an L

Theres something fundamentally wrong with a set up that would allow a pitcher to throw 9+ innings of perfect baseball and lose.

When that happens they’ll change the rule. Until then, good luck.

the players union doesn’t want it to go back. The owners don’t care (concessions have been shut down). There just isn’t anyone that wants it except fans like us that pine for the days when a team would play 22 innings one night and come back for a day game that goes 13 innings the next
