This type of collapse would have never happened if AJ Hinch was still the manager.

And if lunhow was still the gm.

Crane should have told mlb to fuck off and not fired anyone.

@cabowabo was being sarcastic...

I love Luhnow, too, but with the benefit of hindsight his draft record and international signings show there was some performance based criticism we seem to overlook.

I mainly appreciate the faith that Crane appeared to place in him to roll the dice in a way that Click and Brown can't.

Well boys. It’s over. Even with all the injuries, the Astros had every chance to make a run this year. There is something amiss in that group. Everything feels different. Keep the core and clean out the rest. Starting with the coaches and GM. My girlfriend says Espada is a ball-less pussy. If she sees it, says it, then far be it from me to argue. That’s exactly how they have played lately. Clubhouse needs a shakeup. It’s gotten old and complacent. It needs bold and aggressive thinking. I don’t think Brown and Espada bring either of those things. Framber should have been traded, not as a white flag for the season, but an attempt to get better now and the future. Hell I’d have traded him last year when we were treading water to make the playoffs. It didn’t, and it doesn’t, have to be this way. Fortune is for the bold.

See ya in February. It’s hunting and bbq season now. Houston rodeo cookoff and spring training only 5 months away.

We've seen a lot of magic in this franchise for a decade. We're not seeing it now. I don't think it's any one thing causing our decline, but injuries, age, loss of leadership and marked improvement by some other clubs have added up to a bad funk. Call it bad luck if you will, but it's not just being snakebitten on injuries.

Correcting all this won't be easy or cheap, and it might not quick...but the sooner the front office takes an objective look at where things went wrong, the sooner we'll have a chance to contend again.

I would see what could be gotten for Yordan in an off-season trade.  Dude just can't stay healthy, and because of that what you could get in return may not justify trading him.  Packaging him with McCullers could greatly increase the trade value on our end however.  Lulz.

they forgot mlb caps creeping up to $60 !

No problem, the Astros have the incredible lucrative local tv package that 20% of the city has access.

That half-inning illustrated Brown's frustrating issue: cruise through innings until you get a baserunner or two, then let it turn into a run. I still wonder if he does something out of the stretch to make him less effective.

That run was simply due to missing his spot with how the defense was positioned.

lefty just flicked that sinker left up and away for an easy double down the line with an 80 mph EV.

maybe the stretch caused his focus to breakdown just a touch, but bottom line is he missed his spot

I'm not sure any one thing leads to Brown's little hiccups from game to game. But when the margin is so thin (due to our sad lack of offense), a run here and a run there gets him beat or at least leads to a frustrating no-decision too often. He's one of the top RH pitchers in baseball, and I just feel he has the stuff to escape more of those situations.
