Don't take this the wrong way, but it's already been posted a gazillion times already.

Whether that stat is accurate has also been questioned, but I don't think the theme of Arch suffering game jitters is wrong.

Is that stat inaccurate for every UT QB the last 10 years?

It's one fucking game. The first fucking game. Now go smear your frothing yeasty gash with some Vagisil.

Also its not one game.  Its 3 seasons of the exact same shit.  Can't score in the redzone.  Turtle in big games.  If you think its one game we'll welcome to your first college football season.

I've not at any point said Arch's play wasn't a problem. I differ from you in that I hold the head coach partially responsible for the performance a QB who has been on campus for three years.

Not sure if you missed it, but consistent red zone issues are a known problem for Sark. Its curious you say not scoring a TD in the RZ was not a problem when we lost by 7. I differ from you in that I expect a head coach to address known issues with his game plan and hold him accountable when he refuses to do so.

The body of evidence differs with your hypothesis that we win this with Quinn when the last game we played, against the same opponent, Quinn was playing and the results were actually worse.

Sark has his weaknesses. But your post is nonsense. We didn't see Quinn against this OSU team with this Texas team. OSU isn't the same team as last year. There were more plays to be made against that defense this year. Given that clean of a pocket, Quinn would have cooked today. I get you want to bash Sark. But your analysis here is bad. And I think you know it.

Tell me one passing play you would have called confidently Arch would have executed flawlessly today....

Now with arch out of that picture, what running play would you have called confidently? Probably the same play we saw.  That's what I came up with when I really looked at it.  Anything on the outside had a higher chance than usual of being housed.

The inability of executing basics hampered the output of the game

Uh, so you don't think Quinn would have beat Ohio State last year if the defense held them to 203 total yards and our team was able to run for 166 yards at 4.5 a pop? Again, it isn't the same teams. This is a stupid post.

On the goal line stand, OSU had 5 men between/over the guards and center. The down linemen submarined and stopped the push, everyone else crashed the pile. I don't understand why someone didn't realize that there were 5 people in the spot they were going to run it and call a timeout to regroup. I was going to post the video but it just pisses me off.

Didn't OSU have 7 defensive players picked in the first 130 or some shit.

Today's Texas D played better.

Today's Texas O ran the ball better.

Last game Texas team had more turnovers by the QB

Last game Texas team lost by more points.

Both Texas offenses struggled in the RZ.

The exact same thing happened against Washington andGeorgia 1 and 2.

You can opt to stick your head in the sand and say there are no similarities in all these losses, and that is your right. However, the data tells the story, like it or not.

It really looked to me like on the play before they called 2 plays and were going to run that shit as a hurry up if they didn’t get in on 3rd down. Just infuriating

Yes, last year Texas played a much better Ohio State team. They could stop the run easily (and I think our run game is going to be pretty good this year). More of the game was on Ewers as a result, and against a better defense, he wasn't good enough to get it done. Again, this is a stupid post. Sark his issues in the redzone. But that wasn't the primary problem today. It was a problem, to be sure. But it wasn't the primary problem. Quinn wins today fairly easily. Hudson Card probably wins today. Swoopes probably wins today. Arch played a no good, very bad, terrible game today. That's just how it is. He'll be better (I hope).

Serious question, at what point does CDC call him into his office and force him to hire an OC?

I do think Sark is maxed out as a HC (calling plays)

The first offensive play of the game for Texas set the tone.

Perfect call by Sark on a roll out to the right with multiple receivers open and Arch throws it in the ground five yards behind a wide open Deandre Moore.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you.

Even if he checks his ego and gets an OC to call plays, he'll still be managing the game and he doesn't seem to do that at an elite level either.

If you think Sark’s game plan today was acceptable, you are delusional. If you thought Arch wasn’t terrible today, you are delusional.

Was Arch bad because of Arch, or because of Sark? That is the question. Quinn is in the NFL. That either means Sark developed him so well he made the NFL, or so misused him at Texas he didn’t perform that great at Texas. These are the questions we ponder.

Ok, by why didn't Sark call more plays to Arch's strength, like simple roll outs that cut the field in half and give him a wide open throw? Oh wait...

Arch was bad, full stop. No game plan was going to make his play today anything but terrible. That's just the way it is. Sark's game plan probably wasn't the best. But if Arch makes the easy throws, we win.

What is this?  Ewers sucked under the slightest pressure. He would auto sack himself.  He made some stupid.reads under pressure.  This by no means, was something arch had issues with tonight.  He had a clean pocket.. fuck your Ewers hatred to make you feel better.  I think. Arch will be fine, but face the facts, Ewers year one would have won this game.  It didn't come down to long throws,  it was lost in Ewers breadbasket

I'm told Sark doesn't make perfect calls and Arch rolling out is his bread and butter, something is amiss

It was a shitsaster, and it only got worse from there.

Very much a Garret Gilbert feel, except we were able to run the ball almost at will.

ETA: Arch looked a lot better mid 4th, but on the last drive some throws looked like it was me chunking it

He's more likely to lose against the elite coaches than to win.  Until he flips the script that's Sark's modus operandi as far as I am concerned.

Can’t out scheme this. He should be better at coaching QBs not to throw behind their fastest receiver though I guess.

I don’t know…..

Maybe because Arch was missing almost every simple throw early and we were actually running the ball pretty well.

Sark’s biggest mistake was not running the ball more and taking it out of a totally ineffective Arch’s hands.

Bottom line. Brand new coaches. Brand new Qb. Brand new d line. Brand new o line.   All the reasons this board said we would mud hole and they didn’t skip a beat from last year. The common denominator is Day is as good as the dye in his beard it’s angering to watch Ohio state lose their whole team every year to draft and come back the following and pick up without skipping a beat.

We were running at will because they were giving it to us until they didn't want to and they'd stuff it. Their safeties were so far back it was hard to believe

Many would argue he doesn't manage the game well because his focus is split by being both the HC and OC. I don't pretend to know the answer to that, but it's not implausible.

just watched the sole TD again…. Livingstone was being completely raped on the play and still beat his man for the TD.

This is 100% correct. This was all on Arch. Decent high school QB’s complete that crossing route to Wingo for a massive gain at crunch time. He missed open receivers.  He threw balls to wide open guys at their feet. Sark can’t make him make basic throws.

I was super critical of Ewers last year and Arch deserves the same criticism today. He was awful.

That being said, it was unfortunate we played OSU first because I do think he’ll get better after playing some warm up games against crappy competition like SJSU and SamHouston. I think he’ll get more comfortable and be ready for SEC play next month (god I hope so).
