Out

In the replay era you have to learn how to stick on the bag you slide into.

I was legit saying... htf can the fielder completely block the top of the bag with his leg and thats kosher?   I know his leg wasnt in front of the bag, but literally using rhe leg as a bar on the whole base doesnt seem fair either

He's yanking it bad because he's fatigued.  Malpractice not to pull him after the first one.

Keller reminding me of the longhorn bullpen last year... hitting batters left and right, and when you have an 0-2 count  not throwing the ball remotely close to the strike zone allowing the batter to not have to make a last second decision

kittredge hardly ever pitches three days in a row. i’m stressed.

No one does any more.  All this load management in the regular season and then they expect guys to be able to do it in the playoffs.  I hate how babied pitchers are now.

fermin having a night.

About that.

Really good game.  I think the Cubs take the next one too.  The Brewers never do jack shit in the playoffs.

i’m glad that they’re from our division. no secrets. i feel like as the favored team you’d like to avoid divisional opponents in the playoffs, so im cool with this draw. we’ll need more runs to beat milwaukee though.

Cam Shlittler, a pbp man's worst nightmare

one time my dad was calling a texas game and at the end he stated that our starter threw a “two-shit hutout.”

its nuts that called 3rd strike would have meant that fly ball was a 2nd out sacrifice to tie the game.

The Cubs were up 2 at the time, so it wouldn't have tied the game.

And Chicago got screwed out of a run on the call on the Hoerner slide at the plate.  Cubs should have been leading 4-0 going into the 9th.

EDIT:  On 2nd thought, I guess you're saying that the dribbler to 3rd would have scored one run and then the fly to center would have scored the tying run, so never mind my first comment.  But my second sentence still stands.

it would have been bases loaded no outs, dribbler ball to SS to get the throw out at 1st by a smidge.

as it was both guys on 1st and 2nd advanced.where the fuck do you think the guy on 3rd would have gone?

i mean, everyone wants to say the force out at home, but he barely got the guy at 1st, and  baserunner on 3rd would have had a lead and launching the moment the ball was on the ground.

thats 1 run.   then the sky ball sacrifice gets the 3rd baseman in  to tie it.

Yeah, like I said above, on second thought I understood what you were saying.  I initially forgot about the dribbler to 3B, and I agree that if the bases had been loaded at the time a run would have scored on that play and the other runners would have advanced such that there would have been a runner on 3rd when Fermin hit his fly ball.

But, like I also said above, the score should have been 4-0 heading into that inning, not 3-0.  It all evened out in the end, IMO.
