Durant + baby Jokic + baby Pippen. We are winning it all. We just don’t know it yet. Go trade for McCollum or something g to steady things and take it all.

No Rockets lead is safe when Reed Sheppard is on the floor.

He looks lost on defense... He'll swat and reach and be a pest, but he is just defending space right now.

McCollum is going to make $30 million this season and could be washed.

I’d trade for Schroder. The Kings are completely regarded so they’ll probably eat most of his contract in exchange for a pick swap.

Whatever. You take my point.  Get a vet that can be 80% of FVV even if you have to trade FVV and take it all now.

I think they need a real PG to get them into their into their half court offense. Any competent defensive team is going to do exactly what Dallas did last night. Double/trap Alpie and Durant as soon as they touch the ball. Both had to do some hero ball things to overcome this.

Kind of a weird night. Amen didn’t bring the ball up much, and wasn’t the team’s primary ball handler. He played off ball and cut to the basket a ton. I hope he sticks with the 3 ball. He has to make it part of his game to take the next step. His form looks fine. Just keep taking shots.

Went to first game of season last night. Good times.

Reed Sheppard seems kinda dumb. Holiday needs more minutes still.

KD "off" night and still drilled 2 of the biggest shots

As we all know....Amen is a fucking problem....for the league

I'm fine with this approach until mid-Januaryish, but if Sheppard does not dramatically improve between now and then they are going to have to make a move for a playable PG because I absolutley agree with this take:

KD and Sengun (and sometimes Amen) being the primary ball handlers is not going to work long term in the playoffs.

975 ESPN just buried Reed. Basically said he’s not a PG and can’t defend.  And that the Rockets likely feel the same way as they moved him off ball last night and played almost exclusively zone defense to hide him when he was in the court.

I’d say tap the brakes, he’s only 21, but if the Rockets aren’t going to play him at PG, I’m pretty concerned. He’s not tall enough to play another position.

He doesn't seem very smart.

I don’t think they can get good value back for Reed. They spent the 3rd pick in the draft on him. He shouldn’t be a throw in on a trade.

Figure out a role that minimizes harm to the team, let him play out his rookie deal, and reevaluate in Year 4.

Jesus Christ they should drafted Castle.

I just hope they don’t base the decision off our record at the time alone. That may not tell the whole story. Record could be misleading. 85% of the league this team is gonna overwhelm nightly during the regular season with size & athleticism!
They need to be very specific when evaluating the pg position and look at how the team fares in situations where they’re going up against squads w/ real difference makers at that spot like an SGA or Cade Cunningham. Cause thats what they’re gonna face come postseason time.

Don't let the value you do or don't get back have anything to do with cutting the loss.

He is not a rotation level PG this season.

Package him and get something that is addictive to the team let him go play on a bass team like Cam.

I keep trying to see the bad things and I keep seeing him be exactly the type of player off the bench that everyone wants Tate to be.

Memphis is such a weird franchise. They always draft well, but haven’t hit on a superstar. Ja and Triple J are annual borderline All Stars.

I think they should have blown it up in the offseason, but they doubled down with Triple J’s extension.

The small market success plan is right there in OKC. Memphis with a shit ton of picks would be interesting. But they’re the only pro sports team in town and don’t want to tank. Thus they’re stuck in play in hell for eternity.

Durant getting no respect is funny. When is the last time he got 0 FTA's in a game, and they were hammering him all night? Sorry, Memphis shooting 17 more FTs than the Rockets when they destroyed them on the glass and in the paint is absolute fucking bullshit.

Baby steps, but Reed played well. Maybe bringing the ball up helps him get in rhythm. He played meaningful minutes while Holiday and Davison played 2 minutes in garbage time.

Really nice game from Clint. 10 boards in 16 minutes. I’m warming on the signing. Should be a huge help in Adams ans Alpie’s load management.

Box score says Amen was cooking and Reed was efficient offensively (with two steals and no TOs)

Amen just plays in and around the lane so well. He **has** to get a shot for the playoffs... But for regular season, he is easy fucking money.

Reed was -3 +/-. He was ok on offense and a non factor on defense. He needs to spend the entire season figuring out how to keep from getting picked on. He's a hole right now.

Also feels like the team has figured out Assists are the answer. They were last in assists last year and the corner three didn't seem like a focus.

KDs gravity is an unlock on this team.

There was a year in Brooklyn where teams were literally sending triples at him.

He's getting old though. His shot is getting streakier.

why do you need to warm up to it?  they're paying him practically nothing.

yep, it was a very easy, ho-hum, type of win.  very nice to see.

Many in the thread wanted to spend the Capela money on another guard.

Fwiw, I still feel that way, despite early favorable returns.

I also think it’s inconsistent to think Castle and his 5 TO per game is desirable but going through Reed’s growing pains are not.
