My fear is that airlines will raise prices dramatically if fewer flights.
Just seeing a few posts that it seems “maybe” fewer are flying. I’ve been extremely lucky been working locally and not having to fly somewhere for last 4 weeks.

Monday will be interesting for me;

SAT>SFO>HKG>SGN

In a way it will be good that they are reducing capacity so flights that are operating can do so on time but bad if United decides my SAT to SFO is part of the reduction

United said their hub to hub flights won't be affected, so SAT could be.  Long haul is not affected.

All widebody international flights will be protected.

All hub to hub will be protected, so jump over to IAH - SFO if you want to be sure.

Yeah.  Ill give United a day to figure it out and then see about getting over to IAH.  The SAT flight is a regional Skywest so not sure if that will be impacted

That will be 1st affected.
Just like weather delays, airlines prioritize bigger flights so more people are accommodated.

^ That.  RJs take as many controllers to move them across the system as a wide body does, but with far few people being moved.  I'd expect the RJ fleets to see the bulk of these cuts.

I just got off a chat with a United rep.  He assured my my SAT to SFO would not be affected becuse Im on a international ticket.  Ok buddy.  I'm sure everyone flying domestically from SAT to SFO on Monday will be happy to hear that their flight won't be impacted becasue midtown is on the flight.  Good lord. So now Im on the phone for 6 hours trying to see about getting over to the IAH to SFO

Well so far I have looked at my SAT to SFO today, tomorrow etc and they are all showing ontime with no cxls and this mornings flight is actually early.  I realize the cascade hasnt hit yet so tomorrow should be telling.  United phone rep said no waivers yet for Monday flights but to check back tomorrow.
