LHF Tickets to the Sugar Bowl

Anyone heard anything from LHF about their Sugar Bowl tickets yet?  I put in an application for some about a month ago. I can't even remember how many I requested and nothing on their site says.  All I can see on their website is that my application was submitted.  Haven't heard if I got tickets or not. Or where they will be.  My donor level is 11k out of 38k and my seats for the CCG were dogshit, so I'm less than confident.  At this point I'd practically prefer buying from the 2ndary market but don't want to do that until I hear something from LHF.

well the upper deck tickets on stubhub are already significantly less than face value. i imagine it won't be hard getting a good deal around the day of on some better tickets.

Yeah, after seeing this I decided to hold off on buying through the Foundation. I'd likely get uppers anyways so might as well spend less money.

My story from the 1995 Sugar Bowl...  I got tickets through the LHF.  We ended up lower level end zone.  Really terrible view of the action.

The second most annoying thing that night - first being the shitty game we played - was seeing all of the local kids who had participated in the pre-game pageantry with their prime seats at midfield that I know they did not pay for and I also know they did not give a crap about the game.  That was irritating as hell.

Scalped for less than face at the cotton bowl, got in for 40 bucks last weekend, going to go for the trifecta at the Sugar Bowl

Keep in mind service fees are a bitch. Just checked on Vivid seats and EZ tickets that are $180 end up being closer to $230+ after they gash you.

Got mine through CFP RSVP - hoping I don't get hosed on the seating but don't really care. Worth a few extra bucks to be guaranteed and not deal with the secondary market.

I will say -  I would imagine a lot of UGA fans are still deciding if they will go or not. There were probably quite a few hold-outs after the Bama game. That is a huge fan base with a big presence locally. Prices could go up from here.

Wouldn't expect anything less from you

Did you actually buy from a scalper?  Risky proposition in the age of mobile and email tickets.  I miss the days where you could work the market outside of the stadium and only risk were tickets that were fakes (which was really only a risk at super high profile games).

i have been buying my tickets at DKR right about 30 minutes before the games on stubhub. i will ask the scalpers what they want and they are always more than stubhub. i probably wouldn't buy from the scalpers anyways because of the risk. no risk on stubhub.

Yep I bought from a dude after passing Texas Live on the way to the stadium. Never had an issue for any events buying from scalpers, I am sure I will get screwed on fakes one of these days

Why? I have done it in LA, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York and many other smaller markets in the past few years. Never had an issue and don't see why New Orleans is a worse place for fakes than any of the other cities

Fun story: ND game in Austin 2015,was at the alumni center waiting in line for a buy back ticket, but the office closed while I was still waiting. Random lady comes up to me and asks if I'm looking and she offers a ticket for face value. I'm like hell yeah I'll take it. When I make my way to the gate, the kid scans my ticket and the machine shows my ticket is invalid. We'll there's a thousand people behind me trying to get into the game, thus kid is looking around wondering what to do, so I just take my ticket and keep walking. Kinda crazy that this person was selling a fake in the alumni center, but that ticket was worth it

Oh I'm not worried about you. Just saying if you aren't used to scalping tickets NOLA might not be the best place to practice.

Oh ok yea guess it probably isn't the best place to bust your scalping cherry. I will say that I had a buddy buy his from stubhub last weekend about 10 minutes after me for 10 dollars more so if you want to wait and do the legit route you might be fine

It's not about fakes.  If they can be printed off or transferred electronically, a scalper can literally sell infinite 'valid' tix but only the first to scan in will get you entry.

Just got an email saying LHF was able to fulfill our ticket request.  We requested more than our priority allowed so I would assume this means any donors or season ticket holders who requested tickets would get the number their priority allowed.
Only requested two which was my priority limit but got my fulfillment email as well. I'm pretty far down the totem pole so I think it's safe to assume that every one who requested got them. Did say you won't know your seat location until you physically have the tickets. Will have to guess based on what I get charged.

Received an email today from LHF saying they would be able to fill request. All they said was “we will charge your card listed in the best available price level” $150-$180. Mailing on Dec 17 and will not be able to tell locations until received. I suppose I’ll find out when I check the mail, and make my decision from there. If they suck, they will be listed.

I went through the he LHF for tickets to a bowl once, for the 2009 Fiesta Bowl.  I'll never do it again because those were the worst tickets imaginable.

After the B12 championship this year and the price we're paying vs what's out there right now on the secondary market, I think I'll be joining you. I thought it'd be worth it because of the demand for high profile games like the CCG or the Sugar Bowl, but that looks flat wrong. Even OU isn't worth it most years (was this year though)

Way more expensive than I anticipated. Hoping this one doesn’t haunt me and I have buyers remorse. Location will obviously determine my level of annoyance. If nothing else, it’s easy as shit to undercut everyone on stubhub.

if you think tickets are expensive, don't look at hotels. they are 3 times as expensive over new year's eve weekend than normal. ended up doing airbnb.

If you think hotels are expensive, don't look at escorts. They are 4 times as expensive over NYE weekend than normal. Ended up with a plan to chase bar sluts.

Oh yea, I def noticed. It’s a game only trip for me. I don’t have but just under 4 hrs drive. Getting something to just simply sleep in after the game and go home. Fuck New Orleans.

Yes. I haven’t been charged bc allotments are not yet complete. They were able to tell me I was slotted for the $150 seats that are terrace. They can keep that shit.

They didn't give me that option. They said they weren't doing cancellations but would be charging today or tomorrow. I'm turning my debit card off. Why am I getting F'd as a season ticket holder? Don't mail me shit I didn't pay for.

December 3rd was the deadline to cancel. The same day as the actual inquiry deadline. Sans Cotton Bowl/ou, this will be my absolute last neutral field game dealings with LHF. They’re great for all issues DKR and across the 40, but they can fuck right off for neutrals. I’m stuck with their terrace bullshit. Oh well. Guess I’ll have to just go.

This is a product of basically all the schools agreeing to take on the obligation to sell a significant amount of shitty seats in exchange for a big payout.  Schools get paid, Bowls get paid, tt just fucks over the 'average' fans and boosters.  The big $$ guys still get decent enough tix.  I don't think UT has much power to change anything at the Bowl Level - it is what it is.   But the Big 12 Championship Game only allocating 7500 tickets (the majority of them shitty uppers) to each school is on an entire other level of pure bullshit.   At least the Sugar Bowl is giving a much bigger chunk of decent seats in addition to the nosebleeds.  I can't fathom how the Big 12 schools got stuck with such a stupid deal by Jerry.  I'm guessing well north of 50% of the tickets for that game were controlled at one point or another by brokers.   Wish the broker that used to post on Shaggy would weigh in on that one to confirm.

HA. This is me exactly, except I learned it at the 1997 Fiesta Bowl. I was sitting upper deck in the corner with other Longhorns. Next sections worse than us were clearly a bunch a freebie giveaways to military, charities, etc.

And +infinty on upper deck in the Super Dome costing $150. Fuck that noise. I went to every single road game this year for free. I might not get into the Sugar Bwol for free, but fuck if I'm spending $150 for the upper deck.
