  1. Past hour
  2. Holy shit Pablo Torre is landing more bombshells, THIS TIME ON SILVER! sourced twitter posts in spoiler so no longcat
  3. We are already one of the most undisciplined and penalized teams in the country through 3 weeks. I think everyone needs to come to terms with the fact that Neto Umeozulu isn't good at football, and there is a reason he isn't playing in his 4th year in the program. They were basically going to hand him a starting spot after last year, and he still found a way to let someone pass him on the depth chart.
  4. After the Klippenstein reporting and seeing the texts from the charging document, I don’t think he was a groyper or alt-right or blackpilled. One of those seemed like the most likely explanation because the engravings of memes on the bullets was consistent with previous public shooters radicalized by that part of the internet. Seems to me like he grew up a pretty typical conservative kid then met a trans girl and probably began softening on trans issues as a result. I think this has it right:
  5. Hire clowns, expect a circus. why would any actual evidence be released right now? I'm skeptical of just about everything being purported as fact right now.
  6. If he’d gone down short of the EZ they’d have started the play clock once the ball was set and the Texans wouldn’t have had to run a play before the two minute warning…
  7. He mentioned that after the San Jose State game that they learned after their first year in 2021 that they needed to be prepared for a different defensive look every game than they've seen on film. I don't think they are surprised by it, but he probably needs to just stop mentioning it because I could see how it comes off that way.
  8. Luckily he's a QB, not a RB, and he'll have 2+ years to heal/strengthen before he takes any hits. Wouldn't expect it to be a problem long-term.
  9. I am certainly using "nutbar" in the broader sense. Not hearing voices and shit, but broken-brained, having gone down at least one (probably multiple) rabbit hole, and really fucking mentally lost. Delusional is surely a good word to describe at least a part of where these types are coming from. And the "loser-in-life" status as well -- anger at that, and/or wanting to do something important/make a big splash, often plays a role. The El Paso shooter? Loser: "According to his LinkedIn page, Crusius described himself as not “really motivated to do anything more than what’s necessary to get by” and that he spent most of his day on the computer.* According to reports, Crusius was unemployed and recently moved out of his grandparents’ house at the time of the shooting." Buffalo shooter? Loser: "Former classmates of Gendron who were interviewed by The New York Times claimed that Gendron was quiet, had rarely attended in-person classes, and exhibited a range of idiosyncratic behaviors, including wearing a hazmat suit to class." These types are susceptible to WHATEVER infrastructure they find themselves in. In the present case, it seems that infrastructure is even weirder than usual.
  10. rofl the FALL will probably kill ya...
  11. fortunately, the director of the FBI has experience writing childrens books
  12. You don’t read enough children’s literature. All of this stuff is explained in those books.
  13. It's the off-season, so it's a slow time for NBA news, but if you want to listen to something fun for 15 minutes, Zach Lowe and Bill Simmons pick their 2028 Olympic team rosters. They discuss a few Rockets. Both had Amen Thompson on their teams, and think he could be a starter for that team. KD is likely going to be too old, so they don't pick him. Bill adds Tari Eason as a 9-12 guy, "someone that's just happy to be there and will give it their all in limited minutes." Would be cool if they both make it, especially if Tari is on a long contract by then. They both love the idea of having a "release the dogs" type lineup with a bunch of really good defenders like them, Mobley, Jalen Williams, and someone to deal with a big center when playing Wemby or Jokic. USA team starts around 44 minutes.
  14. Strong disagree here based on what’s been said about his online presence. and though I’m just now learning about this maxx whatevering- it is obviously very different from a trans person transitioning and more akin to cosplay (or prison bitch),if that’s not too crude a comparison. And apparently it’s a thing in those groups, seperate and apart from lgbqt with their own shared political groupthink.
  15. What's weird is that the OL looked oddly good vs OSU and then dogshit against the two cupcakes. Both run and pass. The James Simon stats are insane - I don't remember the exact numbers but of his 72 yards, like 95% came after contact. Just zero run blocking.
  16. The only thing I've learned is these kids spend their time in a reality I wasn't even aware existed. Eye opening for sure.
  17. Anwar just said he doesn’t think Sark can bench Arch without putting his own job in jeopardy. I vehemently disagree. Sark’s job is to play the best players to win games. If that’s not Arch, so be it.
  18. I was aware that the internet was a fucked up place for kids. But my boys are only 3 and 1, and the only other kid I regularly interact with is my 15 year-old nephew, who is at least pretty tame outwardly. Learning some of the specifics of the shit they are exposed to is terrifying. I'm only 37, but I'm starting to feel old as fuck. The world is becoming entirely foreign to me.
  19. I imagine all this does is cause the disaffected ones that we definitely need to monitor on some level—all it will cause them to do is go further underground. Leave less of an online trail. I know I kid about cameras but they are a fucking game changer for true crime and convicting the guilty. CCTV for all of its scary big brother ness catches everything. And it has no bias and most is stored in the cloud. I do wonder what role AI will play. Will someone fake a video or create a good one to show something that didn’t happen? We know it likely will. But for right now CCTV has to be the biggest thorn in any defense attorney’s side. Caught on camera. Fucked. Excellent post.
  20. Good stuff. I should have put this out earlier. My picks: MVP - Aja DPOY - Aja MIP - Veronica Burton - GSV 6POY - Naz Hillmon - ATL COY - Natalie Nakase - GSV ROY - Paige
  21. Let’s pretend those texts are real… dude might have just had enough of Kirk’s bullshit.
  22. Hell, I can't even go for a walk in my neighborhood without calling someone in a car an asshole.
  23. I guess I could add that overnight tent camping to my list. Preferably somewhere that I can take my dog. But I don't really want to stay in a hotel or anything.
  24. My gestalt take on everything we’ve seen so far is that, like you said earlier, he was very troubled, but not delusional/psychopathic. He’s a smart kid but has failed to launch. The fact that he is in a romantic relationship with a biological male furry that is transitioning to female probably means he’s a closeted gay man and feels resentful of the strict religious/conservative culture in Utah. He’s aimless, without purpose, and spends most of his time in online communities that are not explicitly political, but to the extent politics are discussed everyone holds the opinions of the average Bluesky or CR poster and Republicans are considered fascists. When he hears Charlie Kirk is coming to his university he gets the idea into his head that he has the chance for meaning in his life, to slay a dragon that he perceives as a danger to his lover and who is universally reviled in the online circles he frequents. He sees a chance to “stop the hatred” not understanding the second order effects he is going to unleash on the country and those that he loves. I haven’t seen any evidence that there was a larger conspiracy or others that plotted with him, or that he was part of Antifa or the DSA, even if he may have agreed with some or many of their positions if he ever thought them through. I agree with all of this, except the nutbar part. Oswald was a communist who assassinated a Cold Warrior President, not as a Soviet agent, but driven by his ideology and own loser-in-life status. Tyler Robinson seems very similar in his motivations. While we might consider anyone who commits a political assassination of their own plan (that isn’t Carlos the Jackal) to be crazy by definition, neither was incapable of understanding what they were doing like a Jared Loughner or John Hinckley. I think they both had delusions of grandeur that they were serving a larger cause, but not that they were hearing voices telling them they were fighting demons like a paranoid schizophrenic.
