  1. Past hour
  2. I think that is a big part of the problem. I think Sark is running TOO many concepts. Its not an offense, it is a playbook. GT counter has probably looked the best to me. That is just off casual watching. Zone looked to really bad. Sark needs to pare the offense down. Focus on a couple concepts and drill the shit out of them. Its a young team. They have shown they cannot handle an NFL playbook.
  3. I know you are desperately trying to flex here, but no one gives a shit. You are trying to act like a macho man with your shooting a man or animal comment, and dismissing rifle hunters is even odder. Kirk was shot with a fucking rifle, so if anything, bows are more irrelevant to the discussion, which indicates you are kind of a moron to go along with the douchey persona you are perpetrating. Yet, you also fail to discuss shot placement, because that is also important as it relates to the amount of blood loss in the victim/critter. Further evidence that you don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.
  4. @ztejas thoughts on Baylor game? My office pick 'em record is riding on your decision. Godspeed.
  5. whole lot of that going around right now 😐
  6. SMU phasing out β€œPony Up!” as a slogan, but keeping the Shetland Pony live mascot. This article says that phrase came to be used in 2007. I was enrolled at SMU in 2007 and had no idea, lol. I never attended a game, they were dogshit, and my undergrad OKST was my sports focus. Why would a new phrase come into existence at a time when attendance was in the dozens? Seems odd that alumni would be so attached to such a recent thing but there’s some pushback to keep the slogan. If anyone has a subscription to DMN I wonder if that article has more details (link below). The following is from Chron.com which I suspect might be more sarcastic than DMN would be. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/smu-mustangs/2025/09/16/smu-is-phasing-out-its-pony-up-catchphrase-and-leadership-is-surprised-by-the-reaction/ https://www.chron.com/sports/college/article/smu-kick-em-stangs-21051677.php SMU doesn't want to 'Pony Up,' anymore, it wants to 'Kick 'em' Southern Methodist University wants you to know it's all grown up now. By Leah Vann, Sports Culture ReporterSep 17, 2025 SMU wants to get off the 'Pony Up,' rally cry. Instead, Board of Trustees Chair David Miller wants to ride with something like "Kick 'Em Stangs," because it's got to be compatible with other Texas Power 4 clique members: Hook 'Em, Gig 'Em, Wreck 'Em and Sic 'Em. "We're SMU Mustangs," Miller told the Dallas Morning News. "We're not SMU Ponies." The 'Pony Up,' rally cry, according to the school's website, is often accompanied by the "pony ears" gesture, a modified peace sign where you relax your finger to look like pony ears. The phrase has been part of the SMU culture since 2007. But where Miller's statement gets hazy is the fact that SMU is... of both Pony and Mustang lineage. Peruna, the SMU mascot since 1932, is a black Shetland pony known for its feisty stallion personality. According to SMU's The Daily Campus newspaper, Peruna I was donated by a local racetrack owner who felt the powerhouse pony embodied SMU. From there, the school's students decided that the school would take on the "Mustangs," as its official mascot, since the wild horse had the physical embodiment of a "petite pony." Shetland ponies are a special Scottish breed of pony that has short legs and is very strong. They were especially helpful for riding, driving and packing purposes back in the old days But now, they're more frequently cute miniature horses ridden by small children or appearing as a 'Lil Sebastian' at the petting zoo. (If you haven't seen Parks and Rec, look it up.) Peruna is small, strong, wild and, honestly, adorable. But that's not exactly what football players (or athletes) want to be known for. According to Miller, both head football coach Rhett Lashlee and head basketball coach Andy Enfield agreed that the image they want to portray to recruits is "not that of a pony, but of wild charging mustangs." It's really just a technicality, but SMU, since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference, is the only Power 4 conference team with the Mustang mascot. The change also comes as an hour-long documentary about SMU football's program rebuild from the NCAA's "death penalty" called, "Thunder On: Resurgence of the SMU Mustangs," premieres at 2 p.m. Sunday on ESPN. SMU Athletic Director Damon Evans even used #ThunderOn, as a way to market yet another new phrase. Meanwhile, the football team wore 'Kick 'Em, Stangs,' shirts to Saturday's game at Missouri State. Nevertheless, it seems SMU is having an identity crisis. But Lashlee maybe underestimated the amount of backlash the program would get for trying to phase out, 'Pony Up.' "We love our fans, and we love passionate fans, and if you say, 'Pony Up' to me, I’m going to freaking say, 'Pony Up' back. And if you say, 'Go Mustangs,' I’m gonna say, 'Go Mustangs.' And if you say, 'Kick 'Em, Stangs,' I’m going to kick something.'"
  7. This is a quote from @UT_OB1 from the markets falling thread. I wanted to move it over here to get feedback on his investments, since you guys know I am leaning towards talking all my inheritance (and likely writing a check) in my parents home. A lot of similarities to my situation and the concerns of taxes and insurance wiping out rental income over time is a real concern. SO much of his situation seems similar to mine, except my big advantage would be a high stepped up value of the home at my Father's passing. I also agree with my desire NOT to do STR and want on only do MTR (medium term rentals) of 30 days or more. Because I don't want to deal with cleaning services, and constant move out inspections mainly. I do not want to rent long term, because of my concerns about potential damage to the property. A great deal of the reasoning for MTR is the property is on Septic. And they spray emitter system by the lake while fine today, might not be up to code if something went wrong. That could be very, very bad, and very very expensive. ----------------- Anyone here do Furnished MTR? Seems like somebody who posts here primarily does that with their rentals, but I cannot remember or search and figure out who. But I remember I this from maybe 5 years ago? If this is in your personal wheelhouse please post or PM me.
  8. Here's a little rage clip for y'all. Also, Jamie Lee has a daughter that is trans. Lastly, listen to her fuck his name up. Does she have a movie coming out?
  9. Texas hasn’t had anyone win NFOY since 2011 (Eckerman) Spears has to be the leader in the clubhouse currently
  10. So much wrong in this, I don’t know where to begin.
  11. I would argue that at 71, Cutcliffe is entirely too old. But we just hired 68 year old Duane Akina so maybe not.
  12. A bit late to this party, but that quite obviously says "STU" on their helmets.
  13. Funny enough, I think it worked out pretty well for both schools in the long run. Both ended up with great coaches (Miller TBD, of course, but as the basketball board people know, I'm a fan of his and think he'll do really well at Texas).

  15. Until the offense becomes mediocre, I do hope Sark realizes this and plays for field position. Not much reason to go for it around mid-field with the defense and punter playing like they are. I know it is against his nature, but that is just where we are right now
  16. Vince still flashed promising signs against good competition. He had stinkerslike Mizzou 04, but he also was responsible for a ton of highlights. What has Arch showed thus far this year that gives us anything to look forward to? I'm not saying he can't turn it around, but looking that bad against UTEP when you're in your 3rd year on campus is the exact opposite of promising.
  17. https://www.expressnews.com/news/article/charlie-kirk-texas-state-student-21051907.php From the article, I don't know why Wheels is getting involved. This is a text book First Amendment violation unless Surly lawyers can help me out
  18. @TwiceHorn How do I trademark "If it comes from Kash Money, you can take it to the bank!"?
  19. no investigation needed. Kirk believes all trans health care should be illegal. yes it his rhetoric was hateful.
  20. That would be my vote if I was a Fed Governor, but I am Bozo Casanova from the internet and they don’t listen to me.
  21. Wild. Safari/css has been pretty good for a long time. I wonder what the deal is that broke it this go-around.
  22. One that is probably in its last days.
  23. AMY up 30% today. LOL.
  24. @DDD Dad for an old guy, you represent us well. Your gif and response game is 20 years younger than you, at least. ++++rep
