  1. Past hour
  2. This is my absolute favorite of the current period and should be used constantly.
  3. A port is a port -- land-based ports of entry are still "ports." And yeah, gotta presume that there's much less shit going to and from Mexico these days as well. Early data (March traffic) seems to indicate as much.
  4. Garbage is garbage no matter what size screen you put it on.

I grow to love this band more and more each passing year. Their career is fucking remarkable. The thing that's most impressive to me is that they've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and they continue to put out fantastic new records that don't feel like they're trying to recreate what has been previously successful, but instead feel like an organic evolution of their own unique sound. Seriously, how many bands that have been around for 30 years put out a record as good as Lucifer on the Sofa? And they haven't released a single stinker. Some are better than others, but nothing they've ever put out is bad. There's no fucking Spaghetti Incident here. So impressive. Anyway, here's my favorite song by them:
  6. I wonder if she's going to end up being a sleeper agent, along the lines of Ysanne Isard's antics in the old Rogue Squadron book series. Thematically it would line up, right down to a loved one being forced to put them down
  7. He's better than a Fox News personality but it's one thing to run a successful YouTube channel and it's another thing to have the awesome responsibility of the NOAA and NWS. He's a great multitasker, I'll give him that. Plus he knows how to delegate to actual experts which can't be said for most of the Trump cabinet.
  8. Clever use of fasces with axe heads, the emblem of supreme power in Rome as a visual detail.
  9. but that doesn't fit the narrative where everyone is always out to get us - the umps, any and all selection committees, the curvature of the motherfucking earth
  10. Yep. I've been impressed by Podziemski and I expect everyone of his 3s to go in.
  11. Wonder who poached her? Seems a serious loss on D.
  12. Absolutely right about that. IIRC, Auburn's Saturday guy was a pretty good lefty and we had no trouble with him.
  13. TV, radio and targeted social media are very powerful at influencing and manipulating behavior. Only strict laws against content manipulation, spin, and dishonesty will help combat this.
  14. The most demoralizing plays in this series have been when Steph/Jimmy are shut down defensively and then one of the "others" still knocks down a three. And they have like three or four guys that can consistently do that. Reed might never be an alpha out there, but I have no reason to think he can't be a guy that consistently makes the other team pay for overcommitting on the top options - and there's high value in that.
  15. That's one of the things that actually makes me chuckle. These dumbfucks don't realize that the book it out -- worldwide -- on how DOTARD works, and how to play him. He has one play: All you have to do it wait him out....because he doesn't have a "next move." Let him beat his chest, kick up dust....all you have to do is still be standing there when the dust settles, and you have WAY more leverage than he does. The other fucking dumb thing was declaring a trade war on THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD ALL AT ONCE. If he'd perhaps just focused on China, then that offers some opportunity to carve them out from the global trade network, and use our size and strength against just them. But now....the whole world is focusing on how to 1) maximize trade with each other, while 2) minimizing trade entanglements with the erratic, unreliable, and batshit insane USA. Dumb. Just fucking nuclear-blast level dumb.
  16. America's Pastime depending on cheap Chinese aluminum bats is just a bit too on the nose.
  17. To counter my general retardasia on the STONK thread, I can say that I got half of my SPY this year at a great valley, so that is already shaping up nicely. I got a bunch at $515. It dropped down to $510 so I did it again. I think $508 was the minimum before that turnaround. Nearly nailed it.
  18. No. That highway doesn't go to a port. But on I-10 and I-45? Yes.
  19. Sark has his flaws but knowing who to start at QB isn't one of them.
  20. Not sure if serious - Ryan Hall (yall) would be a semi-competent hire, so I doubt you
  21. I rehabbed what I was told was a torn rotator. Fuck that surgery and year PT. I did the same, worked around the impacted area and strengthened everything to the point that the only issue I have with that arm is range of motion. The reason why pushups/pullups are so universally beneficial is that they are compound exercises. Same with squats, rucking, etc. Stuck inside all day yesterday and on calls, so I'd go on mute and banged out 10 sets of 20 pushups and 10 sets of 20 dips. Sore this morning so I know I did something worth recovering from.
  22. And it wasn't there when their bp guy was fanning us left & right.
  23. Meh. Minor thing to get wrapped around the axle about. I think those who actually took notice over the years really recognized V-E Day and V-J day separately anyhow. It's just that he's really an idiot all around who doesn't really give a flying fuck about either, so it's really just his normal uninformed posturing. Not saying "don't say fuck that guy," but this is just a garden variety, sun-rises, sun sets "fuck that guy." Not like a hollow out the government, undermine the judiciary, throw yourself a Nork style birthday parade "FUCK THAT GUY!" *Also, let's not forget that the USSR globbed onto V-J day, not wanting to get left out of the spoils, declaring war on Japan on August 9, 1945.
  24. Ryan Hall has been made weather czar and will "very quickly" end all severe weather, so we're gonna have good weather "like we've never seen before." And any storms that happen were Joe Biden storms.
  25. Does the no trucking mean traffic will get better on 35?
