  2. You bring up the crux of the matter. A lot of us fondly remember a golden age of college football wherein the entire enterprise had a sense of history and decorum that gave gravitas to the proceedings. There was a generational aspect that we carry on into adulthood. That’s why it’s worth so much money, at the end of the day. I would argue that dumbing it down to the lowest common denominator and featuring a bunch of crass, flavor of the minute celebrities degrades that very institutional sense of decorum and seriousness and will contribute to the erosion of the generational aspect. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so I would liken it to bringing Howard Stern and Andrew Dice Clay into the mix at the time. How many of us would remember watching games with our family as fondly as we do with those clowns running the show? Of course, I don’t know shit about fuck and I enjoy yelling at clouds, so take it for what it’s worth.
  3. I used to do that shit at my old gym a lot because they had a very long turf for it. The new gym tries, but the turf is like 1/4 the size and it's really kind of not feasible to go back and forth 4 times to make it equivalent
  4. Even before that, there was a kid named, I think, Jerrell Wilkerson who never made it to campus.
  5. Wtf kind of condition is that??? Quite unfortunate for him.
  6. it's like you are talking about hurricanes and tornadoes and ignoring flash floods. sirens go off, you don't see shelter in your freaking basement dude. you EVACUATE. stop being obtuse.
  7. MAGA is political kayfabe.
  8. Another hard hitting piece with great new made up quotes from "anonymous sources" lmao
  9. Evacuations, boarding up homes, securing property, yes. Sirens during the event are to seek shelter (basement, closet, etc..) immediately. Not to evacuate.
  10. Was planning to suggest this one! That nonstop DFW-STS flight on AA makes it worth it. Plus the Santa Rosa airport is super easy and quick, as soon as you step off the plane you know you're in wine country. Both legs of the flight were not full at all, increasing your chances of an upgrade/empty row (may have been due to my timing last month though). I joked to myself it was probably the highest socioeconomic passenger ratio I've ever seen in economy. AKA lots of wealthy people who have flown before and aren't going to watch a movie on their phone with their speakers turned up loud. So yeah, assuming you live in DFW this is a great recommendation.
  11. Self lobotomized to own the libs
  12. 247 put out an article saying the two teams at the top for Davon Benjamin is Oregon and Michigan.
  13. Frenchman Flats, Nevada - June, 1957. My Dad, along with several hundred US Army troops, was somewhere underneath that cloud hunkered down in an 8’ deep trench only 1,000 yards from Ground Zero. Afterwards when they were bused back to their Las Vegas hotel, he lost $20 at a Blackjack table.
  14. The good thing is the glass is going to be reinforced to survive tornado-force winds and debris slamming into it during the spring and summer
  15. I like his style in pizza... That's all I got
  16. Sure. It never made a lot of sense to me to try to capture that demographic on a Saturday morning. Especially now with cord cutting. Unless Game Day was in town, I was hungover and still asleep until 15-30 min before gametime. And after college? Still hungover and asleep until 11am.
  17. Basically, stop doing cheap bullshit. Georgia does it for sure. When are they going to make the LSU-rule against faking injuries to stop the offense? Or did they already fix that and I missed it?
  18. In. Sent DM.
  19. Agreed. One of the great things about hiking is most folks are respectful of privacy but happy to meet new people. Got a couple of hiking buddies who are always really good at that part of it and because we pretty much always find a nearby bar afterward, we get a lot of conversation both on and off-trail. Met a bar owner off the Ice Age Trail not too long ago who had been in Sheriff Joe Arpaio's jail and her stories were a riot, including the pink underwear Arpaio made everybody wear. Not on a trail, but I met the author of the trail book I screenshotted on the other post when I heard her and her husband talking German as they stopped for coffee while passing through town. So now I've got two more hiking buddies, a good book and the German amnesty offer to boot.
  20. Another for the Island of Misfit Toys. Clips gonna always Clip 1B in Oklahoma City is pretty fucking crazy
  21. and for the RVers... if you are camping on a river bank and unaware of the weather and without an analog weather radio then I just don't know what to tell you other than the fact you probably weren't a boy scout. still, you deserve sirens too.
  22. Ole John Leibowitz may be a goofball but he fought for 911 first responders, and he called them out on all of the Covid bullshit. Now he's hinting what we all know -- the Epstein evidence is a bunch of blackmail gathered by the CIA and Mossad using underage girls in a honeypot. Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Israeli intelligence officer, said Epstein and Ghislaine ran a sexual blackmail operation for Israeli intelligence. https://www.unz.com/wwebb/former-spy-details-israels-main-motive-behind-epsteins-sexual-blackmail-operation/ Les Wexner, Epstein’s patron, gave him full financial control. Wexner was part of the Mega Group, a set of pro-Israel billionaires linked to Mossad. https://www.mintpressnews.com/mega-group-maxwells-mossad-spy-story-jeffrey-epstein/261172/ Alex Acosta, Trump’s former labor secretary, said during vetting that Epstein “belonged to intelligence” and was told to back off the case. Epstein had hidden cameras in his homes, consistent with kompromat (blackmail) operations. Victims testified they were told to have sex with powerful men while being filmed. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/epstein-had-creepy-panopticon-room-095105230.html Epstein's 2008 plea deal was unusually lenient and included immunity for unnamed co-conspirators, likely indicating protection at a federal or intelligence level. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/article238237729.html Epstein had ties to figures like Ehud Barak (former Israeli PM), and Wexner’s circle included individuals with past CIA or Israeli military links. https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/elections/2019-07-16/ty-article/barak-says-he-met-epstein-at-least-ten-times-but-never-in-the-company-of-women/0000017f-da76-dc0c-afff-db7fc5440000 https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/?sort=score&q=Ghislaine+Maxwell
  23. the NWS warning should be heeded by anyone in leadership in a disaster prone area like a river valley in one of the most flash-flood prone areas. individuals should too but the government and camp leadership should immediately go into monitoring mode with the warning. the moment a river is known to be approaching or will approach flood status from river gauges the sirens should go off and all other methods of alerting the public should go into effect. the county should also have the camps on speed dial. this isn't hard, kids are in the flood zone, redundancy matters, fucking get with it. and since this is a multi-county issue, even on one river let alone all the other rivers and counties in the flash flood areas, it should be the state's responsibility to fund it. this shit is just not that hard folks.
