  2. Same folks that are hurting you. And he's not wrong.
  3. Said the man commenting on the flaws of the SDP when the Nazis rose to power -- "it's shocking that reasonably intelligent people actually think that one side (the SDP or Nazis) is more virtuous than the other." One is. The one that wants to end our Republic for good is the bad guy here. The one engaging in fucking everything we spent the last 50 years almost uniformly saying was "yeah, that would be some bad authoritarian bullshit" is the less virtuous party. Degree fucking matters. Nobody here ever claimed the opposition were angels, without flaw. But FFS, if you don't see the difference in degree, you are either lying to yourself or lying to us. Either way, take your bullshit and fuck all the way off.
  4. Ok fair. So the real move here would be to pass legislation subsidizing food deserts with healthy options. Lulz, ok. I do wonder if the rurals are ever going to wake up to the fact that they have been shit on and abandoned by the very party they vote for with cultish enthusiasm.
  5. He's a shithead. I'm sure he's still over on IT being as passive aggressive, frat-tastic dipshit. Or maybe he's dead now. Old enough to be, for sure.
  6. Seems like a dumb and futile move, actually.
  7. Just looked up Leo's recent slate on IMDB. A few things stand out: * He's only starred in 4 movies in the decade since he won his Oscar (Revenant, Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood, Don't Look Up, and Killer's of the Flower Moon). He's starring in Paul Thomas Anderson's 'One Battle After Another' that you can bet will garner all kinds of Oscar attention later this year. * His "in production" roles he's listed as playing include Jim Jones, Evel Knievel, Frank Sinatra and Teddy Roosevelt. And as crazy and diverse as that list is I can honestly look at it and say "yep, he could pull that off." Cruise and Leo are about the only two names that open up every production company's checkbook. If Leo says "yeah, I really want to star in Heat 2" it will get made.
  8. Yes, now get off my fucking lawn. My first choice is to channel surf the premium channels and only after striking out there check the streaming services. I like finding movies on the premium channels that I wouldn’t have come across on my own. I’ll always watch if on: Scarface American Gangster Godfather I & II Goodfellas Casino Departed Pulp Fiction Usual Suspects Ace Ventura Pet Detective I & II Happy Gilmore & Billy Madison Big Lebowski Tombstone Heat In the Name of the Father There Will Be Blood Se7en Fight Club Rounders
  9. Venables cannot help himself! They are stacking injury upon injury early this year, again. -"Ott hurt his shoulder, no big whoop." Right. Luckily RBs don't use their shoulder much. -Jake Taylor hasn't been the same since his knees went out on him playing catcher in minor league ball. If they have to play that guy, they're in trouble. -One of their hopes at relevance at TE broke his fucking hand and they're poo-pooing it. "He plans to play through the injury." Please have that guy out there as an eligible receiver with a broken hand so every defender can completely ignore him. -"Oh, btw, the offensive line kind of seem like they suck." Okay then. -They're really hoping they play Fasusi early. I am as well. He's not Kelvin Banks. This would be awesome.
  10. Beowulf -- that's a name from the old Austin 360 board (and maybe before -- what was the predecessor?) that I hadn't thought of for a while. He was one of the most prolific of all over there.
  11. Allsup's burritos FTW!
  12. Signs Rushmore Diner On the Waterfront From Here to Eternity Strangelove Paths of Glory Well okay then.
  13. this is the type of stuff that libertarians love to see, right @DalTxHornFan?
  14. No. Because I have a personal history with Jacinda Ardern. And I really don't want to talk about it here. Wounds are still too fresh. But I've also got kids who have had to navigate the immigration and visa process in, collectively, 4 different countries (with overlap between them in the UK and Germany). It's a hassle anywhere you go....but FFS, so is getting a driver's license here. It's navigable, and not unreasonable in the countries we have experience with....it's much harder here. Of course, this current regime also launched an effort to try to "de-citizen" people like my father, who were born in hospitals along the border back when records were not meticulously kept. So, fuck this regime. But, to the bigger "fix immigration" topic, it's been hashed and rehashed 10,000 times here and elsewhere. We don't have to reinvent the wheel. We've had a quite functional system in the past, with guest worker programs, all sorts of common-sense mechanisms. And now, in an age of electronic processing and payment, it should be even EASIER. We haven't done so, because we have zero interest in doing so. Because, for the 10,000th time....it's not about a system of laws and rules and good policy outcomes. It's about nativism, xenophobia, and nationalist/race-based division exploited for political gain and the joy and easy political tool of human cruelty. The cruelty and the suffering is the point. It's the entire point. Everything else is tissue-paper-thin window-dressing.
  15. LCHorn

    Mediterranean

That location is where restaurants go to die.
  16. Plus a Hustler magazine and a sock.
  17. I'm sure you won't have to wait long.
  18. Talk about stupid. From your link and my link: 1/5/2024 (my wife's birthday and certainly "when 2024 started" arctic ice extent 13.4 M sq km, 1/5/24 of historical baseline 13.9 M sq km. That is 3.6%. Exactly what I said. You are showing your ass when I said that the network news and CNN and Fox and late night TV and morning talk shows were talking about the decline in 2012 and you countered that it is still being talked about with links from nsidc.org and climate.gov. True bastions of mainstream information sources. And you and brisket still miss the point or choose to ignore it. If the ice extent was a massive story when it was at low points then it had to be a massive story when it rebounded. I watched Scott Bessent (one of the Trump guys I like) on nbc or cbs. He pointed out that after the tariffs were announced the network ran with headlines of major stock market crash. Then a few weeks later when the market recovered to historics levels the network ignored it. And of course Fox and OAN do the opposite. It is shocking that reasonably intelligent people actually think one side is more virtuous than the other.
  19. looked to be started by people wanting clicks
  20. You haven't been paying enough attention. They will probably just send in ICE to do the job. They hired authoritarian losers for a reason.
  21. 9. It was 9 beers.
  22. Any truth to the story that Altuve was turned away at Louis Vuitton? We all know that would never happen at Balenciaga
