  1. Past hour
  2. Best whale watching experience we had was out of Provincetown, did one out of Boothbay Harbor and took forever to see 1 whale and a sunfish… HOLY SHIT, JAY!! IT’S A BABY FUCKING WHALE… CALL THE AQUARIUM!
  3. Truman ordered the desegregation of the military and to his credit, Eisenhower carried that out. But Ike hated the gays. From Eisenhower to Nixon to Reagan, both Bushes and Trump, racism and bigotry has been the one constant in GOP ideology during the postwar era. Ike may be a bit of an exception because I’m not sure the Dems didn’t also hate the gays back then. But ever since FDR passed the Civil and Voting Rights Acts, the Republicans have been appealing to the racial and cultural anxieties of middle class white people in order to get them to vote against their own economic interests. Party ideology has evolved somewhat, but that one plank has persisted unchanged.
  4. I generally agree with you but will miss Bolden's haywire dangerman antics on PR. I'm loving the idea of him being a halfmad adrenaline junky who refuses to fair catch because it's for pussies and he needs another fuckin hit goddamnit! Even if the coaches don't like it and part of me wishes he would take it just a little easier, I have to tip my hat to anyone who lives life at full tilt.
  5. “Lightheadedness” from dreaming of being in a bunch of all new HEB Commercials and receiving all those good good H-Town happy endings
  6. Really wishing we had Farmer back right now for the OF. Never understood the hate that guy got.
  7. Good thing that play wasn’t a punt return. He’d have grabbed it and ran backwards out of the endzone in his endless quest just to feel alive.
  8. My tongue is firmly in my cheek.
  9. the breakdown
  10. Wowee! It turns out DOGE didn't save any fucking money and destroyed a bunch of public services and ended the careers of tens of thousands of public servants
  11. https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/earthquake-swarm-detected-at-mount-rainier-biggest-since-2009/1792951
  12. Car inspections are reminders for people they don’t change their oil for a year or that the tread in their tire sucks and a blowout is near.
  13. Truth. Pretty sure that the last time I ate a donut was at a Tim Horton's in Victoria in 2019.
  14. Correa not in lineup today. Complained of lightheadedness yesterday. Always something. I’m sure we will trade for him and his eardrum will probably burst on the flight down here and then break his leg leaving the plane.
  15. I, along with three old friends from out of state, none of whom ever has seen a game at DKR (they aren't UT grads) likely will be there for the Vandy game. Looking forward to some early morning Surly (or whatever you end up calling it) shenanigans.
  16. Wordle 1,502 3/6 🟩⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  17. Texas was one of them. They thought they’d landed him and he was the WR “no one is talking about” that I was saying could be coming into the program. He’s a stud.
  18. They had some T&A before that scene but we were like "This is Netflix??"
  19. Not having to watch Silas Bolden test my blood pressure 4-5 times a game is one of the things I'm most looking forward to this season. When that motherfucker is completely done with football we're going to we're going to find out he's moved onto high wiring between sky scrapers and wrestling alligators just for shits and grins.
  20. Did you just say Bo Davis was an amazing recruiter? Huh? I'm not sure I agree with your detective work there, Lou. Is this sarcasm I'm failing to register? Bo Davis was a lazy motherfucking recruiter and and relied on his ability to coach up shit. Meanwhile, Baker got more out of guys like Broughton and Collins than Davis ever did...hell I was impressed by Bill Norton in limited time.
  21. Wait until you see them near one another. Butler got into the doghouse for one reason or another and there was the notion that he’d just transfer out and everyone would be fine with that after the spring. Didn’t happen. I assume we’re looking at a fork in the road starting today - he either turns mental and performance corners immediately, or we never see him in the field and he’s gone in December. They recruited Bolden in to return punts and be a contributor in the WR group. They didn’t realize they’d recruited and paid for a complete fucking lunatic on punt returns and couldn’t fix his approach. Trust is the number one thing they now care about on punt return. Butler is the best candidate talent-wise, by all accounts. Only one problem. They allegedly don’t trust him, at all.
  22. It's almost like elmo grew up as an heir to apartheid or something
  23. I share similar sentiments to other posters. I will always feel for anyone facing cancer. Have had 3 friends/business associates with cancer this year. Yes, 3. So from a human angle I truly wish Deion the best. From a football angle my Telenovella is just not nearly as entertaining without the biggest heel in the script. We don't have many fun characters like Spurier or Pirate around anymore to appreciate/hate on or love. Deion also brings a lot of eyes to the sport I love most. So, despite despising many of his actions and behaviors, I'd rather he was in college football that not.
