  1. Past hour
  2. Basically the farmers have come to expect bailout/handouts every time they say they need them because “we are feeding you!!” and he reminded them that they were feeding much more than fellow Americans and the government was always their biggest customer, which means us. many of us understood and were cool with that arrangement, but let’s quit pretending that all the farm acreage in this country is necessary to feed Americans and using that as a reason for bailouts.
  3. That's gonna itch when it dries
  4. First movie that came to mind when I saw the thread title was The Limey. Lots of other great roles, though. Zod. John Tunstall in Young Guns. Sir Larry Wildman in Wall Street.
  5. and now a word...
  6. That stat isn't currently tracked. Or maybe PFF+ tracks it, but I don't pay for PFF+. Tua had an average Air Yds/Comp of 4.1, so it's fair to say the vast majority were completions under 20 yards. Tua was the lowest in the league. For comparison, Anthony Richardson had the highest Air Yds/Comp at 8.2. League average was 5.6 Air Yds/Comp. That doesn't necessarily reflect the offensive passing scheme, but could also reflect check-down tendencies of league QBs. Since league average is 5.6, it's safe to say most teams are throwing completions under 10 yards. By the way, Tua threw it away only 6 times last year. Normally I'd say that's a check-down tendency, but Miami's offense is geared around quick completions in space. Their receivers run a lot of slants, hitches, and outside crossing routes, and they send both RB out into the flats a lot. That rail route that scored two TDs Ewers-to-Blue against tOSU? They run a variation of that route out of the majority of their split-back packages. It's a modified out-route or rail route depending on what the outside WR/TE does.
  7. 6 years? You mean 6 dog years right?
  8. If Spencer’s next start isn’t good, he still has options as well.
  9. It's a matter of national pride dude is a hero over there and the most famous person in the country. Also you think American players don't play some form of basketball in the offseason to train?
  10. "The Kool Aid is coming out of my ears, and I love it." That would be a helluva thread title.
  11. this picture says it all ... texags : putin is playing checkers and trump is playing 3-D chess !!!
  12. I think reed is decent and better than what they usually have. I think he is high risk to get hurt if Klein tries to run him a bunch given his slight build. If Klein doesn’t run him much, he’s not much of a threat. Kind of a catch 22.
  13. The wife and I had both grown up going to both rangers and Astros games in the 80’s and 90’s. Between ‘05 and ‘17 we saw 3-4 others. Then we ramped up in ‘18-‘19. Covid threw us off a year, but we made a big push between ‘21 and now. if we would have concentrated only only baseball we could have finished earlier. We have seen 14 nba, 17 nfl and 16 nhl stadiums also. Those tend to be easier to check off because you can know 2-3 out in one trip to a city during their seasons.
  14. What's that old saying--"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you." Seems like that applies in this particular discussion . . . somewhere . . . to somebody. Not sure exactly who.
  15. Adjacent to our season, Bama lost Jam Miller for a lot or all of the year with a separated collar bone. Dude is good and they thought he was going to have a big year.
  16. I would take Griffin over Burns.
  17. Holy shit we can hit with RISP??!
  18. Shit, we’re up 4, that’s the kryptonite.
  19. When I was working for a Washington Superior Court in the early 80s, an attorney buddy of mine bought his first house at a little over 15% mortgage interest. The Washington Public Power Supply (WPPS, often referred to as “Whoops”), a local utility, was issuing bonds at 20%. I guess if you have a paid-off home and paid off car (even if modest ) and not a lot of debt, you will be part of America’s widening financial disparity future. As inflation raises real estate prices, you eventually might be able to sell your home at the top of the bubble and sit on the beach actually earning something near 20%. Sort of an ex-pat’s dream scenario. I have an old WIN (Whip Inflation Now) button somewhere from those times. The funny thing about history is that it keeps doing the same shit - and we act surprised every time it happens again.

  21. the below klatt piece is dated 4 august same day as start of this thread i went back and scanned first 3 pages / 3 days of this thread to confirm the klatt article was not posted here i think the majority of us like and respect klatt foro actually dong homework, watches games, etc. sooooo......... +++ https://sports.yahoo.com/article/joel-klatt-explains-why-texas-172409213.html Joel Klatt explains why Texas A&M is a sleeping giant in college football Grant Grubbs Joel Klatt ranked Texas A&M No. 16 in his official preseason college football rankings. On Monday, the FOX Sports analyst explained why he has high hopes for the Aggies in 2025. “I believe in their head coach. I think that this fan base deserves it because they’ve supported this program at a top-10 level, and have not gotten top-10 results from their team,” Klatt said. “They’ve got the right guy now, and he can bring this thing to fruition. I’m talking about Texas A&M. “Texas A&M is a sleeping giant, folks. They’re absolutely a sleeping giant. And the more that I looked at A&M over the offseason, the more that I liked them.” Head coach Mike Elko and Texas A&M burst out of the starting gates last season, beginning the 2024 campaign with a 7-1 record. However, the team stumbled in the home stretch, losing four of its final five games of the season. Nonetheless, the Aggies finished the year with an 8-5 record, the program’s best since 2021. Moreover, players began to step up for Texas A&M and carve out a role for the future. Klatt believes those standouts will play significant roles in the Aggies’ success this fall. “The offense has a lot coming back,” Klatt said. “Marcel Reed took over during last year and showed, I think, he’s a dynamic athlete. They bring back their entire offensive line. They’ve got running backs back, including Le’Veon Moss, after he missed the last month of last season. “… I believe Elko will get the defense going. That’s his history. The schedule then becomes the difficult part,” Klatt said. “… I’m a huge, huge bet on the future guy with A&M. I think Elko is going to turn it around. I think that Texas A&M, again, is a bit of a sleeping giant. I think they can, and will, be a top 10 team here in the next couple of seasons.” Texas A&M is returning a jaw-dropping 15 combined starters on offense and defense. Most notably, quarterback Marcel Reed is back in College Station after stepping into a starting role last season. Reed showed flashes of greatness last season, but will need to be consistent this year for the Aggies to make a run at the College Football Playoff. Texas A&M’s returning players aren’t the only notable names on the roster. The team also reeled in several key transfers, including former NC State wide receiver KC Concepcion.
