Liverpool FC 2025-26: #20 in memory of #20 Diogo Jota
Bodowned replied to Firemans4Horn's topic in Futbol
No doubt there’s a complex pathway to first-team football in France, although to think that a player with 44 senior-level club goals in his career can be our (third-highest?) record signing! The market is just crazy; I’m just glad FSG is opening up their wallet to give Slot what he wants. -
they are going to beat barn easily barn sux there are several games they have already LOCKED as wins such as pig @ pig they haven't been there in 12 years and have won the last 2 in arkansas however...... in little rock they are 3-9 in fayettenam they are 7-12-2 all-time in the state of pig they are 10-21-2 for comparison their record in red stick is 10-27-1 if pig are at all improved and if this is a night game i don't see a win

Trump calls for former Guardians and Commanders names.
Bateshorn replied to boilerhorn's topic in Cloak Room
I did not open this thread expecting to find a bunch of Anti-Ginger stuff and a dipshit defending "Redskins," but this is absolutely the worst timeline, so: IDC about the Guardians, that's a Cleveland problem, from a DC perspective, becuase Trump can cancel DC's lease on the RFK stadium site, he actually could affect the Commanders future plans. Harris can't build unless he can secure financing, which as of yesterday's tweet is now in jeopardy. Most directly, if VA goes Blue in the 2025 off year elections, the chances that Virginia offers the Commanders a fully paid stadium, with retail and development rights somewhere in the DC exurbs is very, very strong. Everyone wants the staidum on the old RFK site, but if the money is right, Harris isn't going to say no and the Owners will lean on him to take a deal with no private financiing/buy in. As the 49ers discovered, you can always B roll the city night shots for MNF. -

There's more on the Mamdani transcript story. This 'violently racist' hacker claims to be the source of The New York Times' Mamdani scoop. Piece is too long to quote in full, but I found this notable: It's pretty clear that editors at the times knew the that both the hacker and his intermediary were nazis, yet assigned a politics story about a politician they don't like to a freelance health reporter, and even let him violate their own guidelines on the use of anonymous sources.

Into the Wild. I probably would have enjoyed this more when it first came out nearly twenty years ago. Now, as an older person, I was bothered by all the dumbass decisions made by the main character.

Hope this is true I can tell you my son had leadership sessions last week W-F from 9-5 and this week until school starts, he gets to be at school at 6:45 AM until 5:00 PM to prep for the season. One has to think that type of dedication has an impact when being considered for a school (whether you want to be in marching band or not)

My now-senior wouldn't even talk to us about any type of major or any potential college until January or February. She was paralyzed with fear because she had no clue what she might want to do, and couldn't imagine herself in a college environment and so wouldn't allow herself to even think about it. We finally just took her on a couple of campus visits and that's when she could finally see herself on a campus as a college student, and it has opened her up to some possibilities. Tough part for me is, she's going to be auto-admit to UT but for various reasons she doesn't really want to go to there. So I find myself on this thread looking at other options.

I may be a dolt but at least I’m not a tech fan. But ok brainiac, you tell us how much the women should make. Keep in mind the owners are losing money at 9% and would likely shutdown at 50%. At this point, they should go to law school or go bag groceries. Also, this is a voluntary sport right? No one is a prisoner. Like it, or if you want the big bucks, go to med school or play overseas. Pay Caitlin Clark whatever she wants. Everyone else is a ham sandwich *edit. Just looked it up. Roger Goodell makes 64M, which I think is more than any player, including Pat Mahomes. I'd guess Englebert is around 6 million or so? I'd pay Caitlin more than that if I could. She's the league

Their playoffs take place as football starts on all levels. No one would notice the absence. It's not siding with billionaires to say something isn't owed (or earned).

I'm going to pull out my Live at the El Mocambo DVD to watch later.

Band is a cult. Same here but mines a junior to be and isn’t even interested in talking about college. He might just pull off getting into UT and make it moot but we’d like him to at least EXPLORE options.

Former UT golfers have now won a total of 12 Major Championships. Can someone remind me how many Majors former aggy golfers have won?
-
This was discussed on the SEC channel of SXM. They too were perplexed about that statement. Im sure his DC is fiiiiine with it.

This is my thought process. I wasn't in band. My school, even though it was a big school, really didn't place much of an emphasis (or pay attention) to band. My son goes to a school with a probably better-funded band than the football program. They're routinely nationally ranked. So, to me, band has been a great experience for him. He has had to push himself and dedicate himself to a working with "the team". He's in leadership his senior year and I think since his grades are... uh... kind of like mine were, the band experience and effort should help him when trying to get into certain schools that look at the whole student, not just grades. Also, some schools that he is considering have great band programs - he wants to keep marching. For some schools, that matters and, to go back to your original point, it does provide that third space and community right as you plug into college.

Coaches like Brian Kelly/DeBoer might not be on hot seats in 2025 Listened recently to a discussion about how the huge buyouts for CFB Head Coaches are getting really difficult for Universities to pay now due to the large amounts of money being spent on NIL and updated facilities. Has there been any updates on Baker & the rest of that tackle room? I feel good about Goosby and the depth of the interior. I think Campbell, Hutson, and Neto are going to maul people. If any of them go down I feel great about Kibble, Robertson, and Chatman. Baker seems to have a substantial lead in the Right Tackle competition. If him and Goosby have to miss a game or two, what’s the drop off like to Brooks & Cojoe?

Profitability and revenue generation is not the players' responsibility. The average WNBA player makes less than the average WNBA employee, which is completely out of whack. Of course they want a larger share of league revenue, if you don't understand why, you're a complete fucking dolt. Given her salary history, the league commissioner likely makes 40x what Caitlin Clark is going to make. Does that seem fair to you?
