My daughter did the CAP at UTSA. All three of her roommates were on the same program. She lived with two out of the three in Austin for the remainder of their schooling and stayed friends with the other. All four graduated from Texas in May.

Every year, this thread re-enforces that some of the worst seasons we have had were when we put the numbers on top of the shoulders instead of on the side.

Maybe God can pay for it all.

We live in a two adult - ADHD house - no meds - it’s a fucking beat down some times. I have successfully adapted with some near OCD rituals but my wife not so much. She can’t find the sunscreen sitting on the counter while she stares at it. I have rigid places for many things that once upon a time were lost in special places. Keys always go here, sunglasses always go there, take my meds at the same time in my morning routine so I don’t have to ask if I have taken them later and not remember, when I take my meds I put the bottles on that side of the sink, after taking today’s supplements I move them to the back and put tomorrow’s in front. My list of memory / don’t forget rituals goes on and on and on.

Saw this today: "it's nobody's fault. And if I did have a little girl, I would still send her to Mystic in a minute. Dick Eastland died trying to save the campers he loved. And there's no other place on earth I would want my little girl to be. Where she was loved so much somebody else died trying to save her."

Eh, I had a couple names shot down because of an unscrupulous ex or two.

Here’s the season preview for TE. It reads like a position preview for Texas from the Charlie Strong years. There are no highlights for me to bullet out because the entire breakdown is lowlight after lowlight. It’s wonderful. -
Papers, please. Surly thread of deportation cruelty dominance

Reminds me of a Facebook fight I got into on what’s is essentially the “is the lake full yet” group. Talks of Mexican volunteers for the flood victims, and I chimed in I wasn’t surprised every Mexican I’ve ever met is humble, kind and generous. Normal human stuff, people lost their shit about illegal criminals in the US, putting aside the conversation about how we created the migrant mess wanting and needing cheap labor for work no American will ever do again, we got into it over criminals and terrorists. With respect to terrorists I posted the Cato institute’s report that (going from memory so concepts not dialed in 100% factual) in 45 years from 1975-2020 there were 9 terrorists who crossed illegally. One conservative woman thought she had me, not so fast ms troph! She posted an article saying 100 during the 4 year Biden stretch were arrested as potential terrorist threats. A good portion were deported. Others were released (presumably to kill Americans amirite?). I responded, well then if there are 11M undocumented migrants and 100 were possible terrorists we absolutely need to engage in gestapo KGB style round ups over 0.001% of the undocumented migrants (add the 0.001% trans people problem and we are cooking with gas for a massive 0.002% problem - insert fuck yeah woman gif). Criminality is less extreme but it’s well documented (no pun intended) that criminality among undocumented is much lower than among citizens. George HW and George W Bush had the correct position on immigration. So did Obama and Biden. Covid was a massive outlier both in the complete border shut down and in the influx initially after Covid restrictions lifted but both of them were actually quite strong on illegal immigration for many points in their presidency. This shit doesn’t have to be cruel. Pass modern reform not draconian guns and prison budget explosions and get on down the road. No we can’t do that, so conservatives use extremely weak data points to justify abject cruelty, and actual reform that is good for everyone has no chance. Hashtag winning? Sheesh. -

I gotta say here that agreeing to debate 20 MAGA types and then being surprised to find a Nazi among them might be the dumbest statement to come out of this. Especially if you ever watched any of these dogshit videos. -

I don’t get all the hype on Burks the last couple of years. Phil Steele has him as the #8 draft eligible WR this year. Why? He has never had a 100 yard receiving game against a P4 team. He doesn’t have a remarkable size/speed combination. He must be unstoppable in practice. -

He may be feeling the effects of what he has already accomplished, but I think a lot of it is that he is simply riding with a little more maturity these days, likely under team direction. He has the gap he needs to win handily, and some of the toughest climbs are still to come. He can play defense the rest of the Tour. It's boring, but smart. That said, I wish he would go back to riding like a tireless kid and go for more stage wins.
