trying to game the system by playing teams in the 300 is weak and cowardly and is not mindset or attitude of winning programs. you add the fact that it screws the fans who now pay basketball-specific money, and the fact that it does nothing to improve our team, and it’s just all around horse shit. i’d rather just not even have those games just not take place at all.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Atticus replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
This is my biggest concern against OSU and kinda for the season, but we aren't gonna see another potent passing attack like that unless Mateer is the truth at OU. Can PK, Nansen, and Akina make their concepts to work well together? It took PK and Joseph some time before they made it work. -
Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Kruel's X account lists him at 6'3", 240 .lbs. There's a photo of him standing next to a 6'2" recruit and he looks to be taller. -
I made it through, but it wasn't easy. It was fucking awful.
-
Because it would really get under his skin. How much do you want to bet he'll deny it happened?

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

For sure, it isn't pure fiction. Rankings will rise and fall based not only for who a recruit commits to but who is interested. Yes, part of that is a coaching staff's historical ability to develop talent, but in my admittedly incomplete knowledge it's more about evaluating talent. I'm certain I don’t need to address that reality regarding FUPM, particularly as it relates to QB. FUPM had amazing skills of not only underdeveloping recruits but towards the end he was mailing in the evaluations too. -

Glad Wyatt came through because for all the terrible ABs we've seen this season, Joc's was one of the worst.

Damn bad news.

Today wasn’t much better. Im glad the Tour finish was exciting. This was meh.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In

I am most interested in seeing how the secondary performs. After years of being frustrated with our secondary, such as not turning their heads to look for the ball, etc. last year they finally broke thru and played really well. Up until that point I kept jokingly asking for a return of Akina, never believing that would actually happen, given not only his age but his struggles with zone coverage schemes. And now here we are with Akina. We are either going to be pleasantly surprised or cursing this hire for years. And I’m not sure at this point which way it’s going to go. -

Yeah I grew up listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass in the 60's. That music is fundamental to my soul. Mangione sort of became the next herb Alpert for his time. And Mangione being on A&M records meant Herb was gonna get a slice from his talent as well. Mangione got so much airplay Feels So Good almost started to annoy me, but it's a great song. And the man can certainly play! RIP. I did get to see Herb Alpert a couple years ago at the Paramont Theater during covid (where I got it actually). Really enjoyable show, as its multimedia and historical in it's presentation. The guy is practically a billionaire and what gives him the most joy is still performing and playing that horn (beautifully still.) Whenever I am Surf fishing in the early hours of the morning, you will always hear my playing Pandora's mix of Herb Alpert. I am gonna really be upset when he passes. As that will truly be closing a door on my childhood...
