Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
BurntEyes replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Fair, but doesn't change my reaction to getting in the RZ then missing a 10 year field goal attempt. -
thought it was a good movie, albeit not very scary. kind of silly, actually. Julia Garner is a really good actress.
-
Hit it today. Crazy that it took 6 weeks to drop that 5#. Guess that comes w/ age and not being able to run or really bust ass the way I could 20 years ago, so it's really only diet doing the work.

This press conference is the coup. Mark it.

boomhauer Jimbo Fisher has 'a lot to give,' eyes college coaching return - ESPN Adam Rittenberg Jimbo Fisher, who received a record $76 million buyout after he was fired as Texas A&M football coach in 2023, says he wants to return to the sideline. Fisher, who recently joined the ACC Network as an analyst, told the "Trials to Triumph" podcast earlier this week that he is looking for "the right situation" to get back into coaching at the college level. "I'm 59, in great shape and healthy. I've had success everywhere we've ever been," Fisher said. "The end at Texas A&M, it's unfortunate, but we also had the highest-ranked team they ever had there in 2020. Our quarterbacks got hurt. We played with first-team, third-team. ... It was hard to get playcalling and guys around. ... Didn't pan out like we needed to, but I still love it." Fisher, who was hired by Texas A&M ahead of the 2018 season, later received a 10-year, $95 million deal in 2021. He was fired by the Aggies in November 2023 after going 45-25. Prior to that, he went 83-23 at Florida State, winning the 2013 national title and three consecutive ACC championships from 2012-14. "Being able to [coach], I would," Fisher told the podcast. "I've won 72% of my games, won 80% of my playoff games. I've been fortunate to win a national championship as a head coach and assistant. I miss the relationships with players. I would be very interested in still doing it. I still think I've got a lot to give. I'd like to get back out there." Fisher will appear weekly on the "ACC Huddle" on Saturdays on the ACC Network.

You sound like a pussy.

Won't be just the Guard. Sec Def just stated this. I spend a lot of time in DC. I went to school there. I never felt "unsafe" down at the mall.
-
Am I the only one assuming that the sportswriters nationally are going to see it different than the coaches? I feel like I've seen numerous "my votes" or "my poll" from writers on various sites or Twitter lately that go out of their way to put someone at the top not named Texas. I wish I could recall it now, but someone last week said they'd voted Texas 6th because "Texas has a lot to prove" and they also had Clemson at #1.

Top it with a few extra dollops of a good red sauce (michaels of Brooklyn is great) when you pop it in the oven, and it's a winner for sure. -

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Fud replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
It could be a toughness thing too, but the other guy is noticeably more athletic, enough to where if Sayin isn’t separating as a passer, it would arguably make sense to play the other guy if it were a true competition Look, I just want Bobby to get to the bottom of this. Is Sark doing this on purpose or not? -
I'm telling you, this is a test case for him to see how far he can push this agenda. He wants to move the homeless out of the city and go after this "out of control crime" he imagines. I don't go into the city often but when I do I feel safe.
-
So, let's see....crime is lower than it's been in 30 years. And the man who blamed Nancy Pelosi, and her alone, for not deploying the National Guard on January 6th to secure the Capitol in DC....is now deploying the National Guard unilaterally, something he has insisted for years he had no ability or authority to do. And the people who voted for them don't just not mind the the constant lying and authoritarianism, they LIKE IT. Guys, y'all do realize now that there are some situations you end up in that are so dire the only way out is to shoot your way out, right? Pick up a history book or two. Read, reach your own conclusions.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
Blotto replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
The thing that was always most maddening to me about Quinn is that he was basically the same QB at the end of 2025 that he was at the beginning of 2023. Surprisingly little improvement other than losing the mullet. In his first year he looked great at times (Alabama before injury, OU) and looked like dogshit at times. Fast forward to his third year and its the same thing. Look at the stats of some of the other QBs drafted (Ward, Dart, Sanders) and note that their stats show improvement year after year. Quinn actually regressed statistically last year. I don't know if that's an indictment on QE, Sark/staff, or both. If we see steady improvement out of Arch, I'll guess we know. -
Where'd you copy paste that from /s

Regarding QB, there's also something the mods, specifically Kurelic, are being vague about, something associated to Sayin isn't tough enough. They keep talking about the other guy "giving you more physically in the backfield". I assume that's a toughness and not an athleticism slight at Sayin. Maybe I'm off there, though. Regarding this depth that they keep talking about on defense "at every level", a lot of it is completely unproven. They return Styles, Downs, and the Human Pass Interference Penalty at CB (I don't remember the dude's multi-syllabic name but it starts with an "I"). The DTs played a little, but didn't start, and there is zero depth here. The DEs, the same, except for Atkinson at UNC and he's apparently underwhelmed and may not even start. The LBs outside of Styles were backups, with Pierce? (from somewhere around DFW, I think) being a guy emerging. Same for the other Safety spot and Sanchez threatening the second CB role as a true freshman. So, they are for sure talented. They're also far less experienced on the defensive end than the Texas defensive side. Of course, they don't play each other, but it's a point of measurement/comparison for me. Offensively, they are also less experienced than the UT offense, which is somewhat absurd. They have Tate, JJ Smith, Klare (@ Purdue), the Rice LT (they fully expected him to start and if he doesn't, it isn't because someone else is a budding star), one other OL and Donaldson (@ WVU). The TBs may or may not be underwhelming, but they're being pushed by Bo Jackson, who is apparently looking like a potential star. The biggest mismatch going into this game is the Texas defensive front against the OSU OL and whoever the new QB is. Yes, there are mismatches, some serious, elsewhere in each team's favor. That given, the Texas defensive front isn't just deep, it's hugely talented. Future NFL high round picks and picks are going to be rotating and fresh. OSU is struggling to figure out their OL mix and they're damned sure not gelling yet. Neuheisel keeps saying that both coaches are going to be "playing away from their QBs" in this game due to inexperience and the fact that each team is likely fielding another top 5 national defense to open. I agree with this view. I plan on writing a thread looking at things more deeply as we get closer to the game (no mudhole), but this is what I'm thinking and taking in from their experts and insiders. I never took Kienholz seriously as a threat to Sayin, but Day and crew sound legitimately concerned about Sayin opening up against Texas. -
That's fair if true, I don't really know much about the guy (other than the obvious) aside from an article I read years back about him moving a concert from Tel Aviv to wherever (I forget) after Palestinian fans asked him to, if I'm remembering that correctly. I'll have to read up more on his politics, I'm generally inclined to instantly dismiss anti-semitism claims from sources like the ADL.
