  1. Past hour
  2. Hold on to your butts boys
  3. I don’t view it as a genocide.
  4. What world is this? They're kidnapping brown people they find on the street and sending them off to foreign torture prisons with life sentences. "Gee, think this might hurt us with Latino voters??"
  5. they practiced in helmets Wed/Thurs, helmets and shoulder pads Fri/Sat. Full pads today.
  6. I guess because he’s brash and opinionated. Cowherd loves the guy
  7. We hired one for both of our girls, and would do it again. I have thoughts: 1) This is an arms race caused by "elite overproduction." It's stupid, unfair, and much of it is arbitrary. Essentially, the process is akin to a cold resume coming into an HR team for a limited number of posted positions. They can say it's about finding the right fit and no doubt they would like it to be, but they are drowning in qualified applicants. Outside of the very top of the very top tier, there's a little luck and a lot of volume involved. So network and expertise matters a lot, enter the role of the counselor. 2) Junior/Senior year is very late to start the process. Ideally you would start the kid with a counselor before the beginning of freshman year. 3) The counselor is not there to do work for your kid or pull strings. They exist to navigate the process from an expert position and help your kid focus their efforts on things that matter, while giving them supportive but 100% honest feedback on where they are, what they want, and their chances. For that reason counselors should be chosen based on their track record, career history, and how they structure their team. Interview them, ask for refrences, etc. 4 ) The organizational element is where counselors really earn their keep - we're talking about 15-20 applications, many of which will have their own essays or are looking for different things. Counselors keep all the gears turning smoothly in the process, including getting on the students when they are procratinating, @troph. When I said "team" earlier, I meant it. Larger practices will typically have a number of coaches who are managing the process, to go with tutors and essay coaches/editors on staff. Division of labor is the sign of a strong practice. 5) Frankly, I hate this game. It's a form of opportunity hoarding that systematically excludes kids from families without money/savvy/interest from access to ladders of opportunity. That said, we have all three and deployed them for our daughters, with good results.
  8. the slavish insistence on treating their idiocy as a reasonable counterparty in a discussion is maddening. It's not """being equitable to both sides""" - it's equivocating alchemy and chemistry. One is bullshit fantasy and one is hard science.
  9. meh, I'm kind of a dick.....
  10. he probably wasn’t going to play this season and now he gets another year to shape his body and probably another year of eligibility if he wants it. long term depth and a possible starting job down the road in 2027.
  11. Fucking Rockies are at league average in attendance? FUCK YOU MONFORTS.
  12. It would be very nice to get back to the days of high-stakes postseason clashes, a la 2003 & 2004. You know, just with outcomes like '04 and not '03.
  13. They are fascists. Plain and simple
  14. Believe today was the first day with pads, so this may have been contact. This might be the scariest time of the year for coaches and fans. You want to have a great and physical camp to prepare for the season, but you also want to get out healthy. There will always be some injuries, you just hope they are not detrimental to the season.
  15. First time ever to be preseason #1 in the Coaches Poll. That is cool shit. Sucks about Cojoe. There's always a few guys for each team that go down in fall camp, so I've been preparing for a few mentally. Didn't want it to be a potential starter at RT.
  16. I mean, photos of Latino women and children in cages didn't. I'm not sure this will, either. But we may also be past the point where they have to pretend to give a shit what voters think anyway.
  17. to be fair to a lot of them, classes haven't started yet so their get in gear motivation is still in free-fly neutral gear for that last 10 days of summer. I get it. just don't be a dick.
  18. You are supportive of his genocide, are you not?
  19. Seriously. It would be a shame if this thread turned into a meandering shit show like the 2026 recruiting thread.
  20. Not like this was a bad or even a mediocre WR room. I'd bet we will look back at 24 and say he was throwing to 3 NFL talents. It was a downgrade from what was a historic Texas level, but still at a level that would make 95% or more of college Qbs jealous.
