  1. Past hour
  2. This thread never fails to deliver greatness. Nice job everyone.
  3. Would be amusing to get an update on these people. My prediction for what the "Miss Me Yet?" T-Shirt gal is up to in the year 2025:
  4. Just started watching 24. Really digging the tension between Jack and Nina since they apparently used to be together, but now she's with Tony. I think Nina ends up saving the day, she and Jack get back together, they fight terrorists together every season and live happily ever after.
  5. no gestapo in Bastropo.
  6. Dang it. You got a fever with that?
  7. When you’re 16 and working the 5pm-2am shift you have no thoughts other than “what motherfucker just ordered 6 Mac’s at 130 am and now I gotta fuck up my grill?” I was thinking about the beer I’d be drinking as soon as the door locked. Those Mac’s probably contributed to his severely impacted colon. Those tuinals kill any motility.
  8. I never forgot this……I miss Dave on TV
  9. Dumb. Owning a boat is wonderful. I’d give up a lot of things in my life before my boat.
  10. So it sounds like by casting a wide net, they caught some really bad stuff. Definitely should be some reprecussions and consquences you would think?
  11. "The Stranger" totally holds up as a creative master class. Stranger-52nd Street-Glass Houses is a pretty solid run of albums. I wish they'd spent more time on the music, the musicians, the songs, the studio process, etc. - and a bit less on "the romantic history of Billy Joel." I'm sure Joel is capable of being abrupt and difficult, but I got a little weary of hearing how much it hurt Liberty's feelings when he didn't use him on a project, and how much it hurt Phil Ramone when Joel wanted to use a different producer, etc, etc. It's a complicated and nuanced thing to talk about loyalty in those situations where there's a completely one-sided power dynamic. I'm sure no one would argue that those people played a huge role in shaping the music. But let's remember that for a lot of those musicians, being in Joel's band is the difference between jetting around the world surrounded by luxury and adoration vs. teaching music lessons for $50/hr and making a few bucks every weekend at a nightclub. It has to be more complicated than Joel is the greatest down-home, loyal, never-changing, stand-up guy only as long as he uses the same cast of Long Island guys... and he's a treasonous disloyal asshole when he wants to do something different or work with a different person.
  12. Well said. It's a racket and a check th box to feel like a good parent. Even the kids and young-ens are wise to it now though.
  13. Could they go undefeated? Could VY bring a natty back to Austin, Texas, baby?
  14. Spent two weeks on the coast of SoCal bouncing between Mission Beach to Pacific all the way up to Laguna, Newport and Huntington. Historically we've always rated San Diego very high, but man, the OC beaches were so much prettier, nicer (aka no Kelp forest mazes with gnats everywhere) and the waves were a lot more crashier and fun. If you are like me and have previously thought of SD as the gold standard it's worth at least testing that theory again.
  15. "Excuse me, Mr. Snek. Will you please show me your butthole?"
  16. And everybody missed the good old days then, too.
  17. If we flip Lee, it won't be because of NIL. There's a decent chance Moore is fired after this year if they can't put together an offense that can score more than 10 points.
  18. Nah, they're content to get people that "have to make the trip" for their kid's childhood and will pay through the nose for a substandard resort and all the LL available on new attractions with relatively low capacity. The hyper-nostalgia crowd is disappointed in Disney's trajectory and doesn't make up a large % of their parks income. I'd consider myself part of that nostalgia crew that laments the loss of edutainment like Horizons, World of Motion, The Great Movie Ride, etc...but even I understand that as a business it would be terrible for them to invest in those style attractions in 2025.
  19. 600 lousy bucks? When are all the jobs (that nobody wanted) coming back home to make us great again Josh?
  20. https://archive.ph/G1pnW https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/29/palestinian-awdah-hathaleen-oscar-winning-no-other-land-killed-in-west-bank Awdah Hathaleen, a Palestinian activist and journalist who helped make the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, has been killed during an attack by Israeli settlers in the south Hebron hills. The attack on Monday was captured on video, which appears to show an Israeli settler, Yinon Levi, who was put under sanctions by the US president, Joe Biden, then removed from the sanctions list by Donald Trump, firing his gun wildly at the time of the killing. He was arrested later by Israeli police for questioning, though no charges have been filed against him. (pictured: Yinon Levy in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, today. Sourced from haaretz.co.il) To top things off, Odeh's family - the murder victims - are being held in jail while the murderer is in house arrest
  21. As far as my wife knows, all of the porn I’ve downloaded over the years was not for my personal consumption, but to train my AI. The article is proof of that. /surly
  22. Yes, retirees with limited income should definitely be paying more tax on illiquid wealth.
