I am in NYC once a month and have noticed a pretty stark difference and rise in hotel rates over the last 2 years, it's quite crazy. Used to get a nicer hotel for $500-600/night (think like Westin quality) and now you can't get a tier 3 hotel for that price (think like courtyard or holiday inn), anywhere from Fidi to midtown. I like to stay in Soho and/or Tribeca because it's a central location to where I will want to be as I don't particularly like going north of Bryant Park and hotels are crazy high. I'm going to be doing some NYU & Columbia campus tours for my baby and last of the mohicans before I'm an empty nester and looking now for hotels in November and it's painful. YMMV.

Nobody. There some of us who were still seeing the same arch in the first half against Miss St, and were saying he needed to sit(and I don't' think it was impatient to say that 6 games in), but I believe everyone, even the real Arch haters, all have said he's been great since the 2nd half of Miss St.

How long until all the MAGA white nationalists stuff being spun up spills over to Jewish people? Trump will have to figure out how to condemn the MAGA that support him when they go after Stephen Miller, Kushner, Loomer, Lutnick, etc -
Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?

He's not a really good AD. But now that the Governor of the State inserted himself into the situation and said the guy whose job it is to select the head football coach will not be part of the decision to hire the next football coach, things are....... complicated. If he hadn't said shit, Woodward would be forced to take a job at Texas State or some bullshit like that. But now he can say "no one will hire me because the Governor of Louisiana - who knows nothing about running a college athletic department - talked shit and now it's impossible for me to find a job" Carville doesn't like Landry because politics, and Woodward is a useful idiot to fuck with the Governor. -
Same. Got the trial and picture quality just wasn't great. At least for live sports. Canceled my trial and will continue looking. Pisses me off because yttv ui is pretty great. I'm sure it's all muscle memory and whatnot but I'm just used to it. I even have espn+ but avoid it whenever possible because their app is absolute garbage.

It's the kind of cheap bastard I am. But yes, it only takes a few minutes to get a smooth shiny surface. It takes a little longer to build up seasoning, but no different than a carbon steel pan really.

Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 10)

I thought that Akina was brought in as a last minute replacement for Joseph. His real value add was that he could help Texas pivot to more man coverage and groom Mark Orphey to take over as the real coach of the secondary. I though giving him the passing defense coordinator role was a little weird, but figured it was a "we need to justify his salary" kind of thing. I have a lot of respect for Akina, but he is too old to be the HNIC of the DB room. Great to have him on staff, but I sincerely hope his not actually calling the shots. -
it is a win just for not having to worry about whether I have to see his face for 3 hours or not

Not arguing it was the most difficult catch of all time. Just that it might be the most impactful of the very difficult catches. And look how far he had to run to get there. No chance in hell Edman makes that catch. And while Kike got there, it would have been a miraculous over the shoulder catch.

I guess because it was so bad in the RIG 12, even some of the shady stuff in the SEC looked minor league. It’s not until at least from my perspective I started watching more of the league games when we joined I didn’t realize they were just a slight step or two below the Rig 12. And not big steps…..

Apparently there is no assault investigation going on. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. But it is interesting.

I’m assuming she’s not wearing Liucci’s actual sweatshirt since there are no gravy stains or dried jizz on the front.

Stayed at the Four Seasons downtown and wanted a steak. Pappas Bros was closed on Sunday and Morton's on Fannin/Walker area is a place I belly up to when I'm alone, but was having a colleague with me. I remembered Vic & Anthony's is a sloooowww dinner, like it took 3-3.5 hours the last time I was there with one other dude and it was just basic steak and sides...so I set the context to say this: Decided to stay in house and eat at Toro Toro (https://www.fourseasons.com/houston/dining/restaurants/toro-toro/) and it was CHEEKS, my dudes. Was really disappointed with the service and the crowd, felt more like a Waffle House crowd after midnight (and maybe that is just a reflection of downtown Houston). Got the bone in bison and it was pretty mediocre. The sushi was actually really good though.
