People believe the stories in the Bible are all factual. Religious text of your choice. -
yes. kirby got his BMDs to try and moneywhip him but flood declined. it’s pretty cool.
-
Because it was already made and they are above all else.... lazy.

My buddy lives in Michigan. He said it's more racist than the south.

People believed the Iliad was a factual telling, and that's one of our first written pieces in western culture. It's often challenging to parse truth from fiction. It's especially difficult when it lines up with how we view the world in the first place. Not everyone has the bandwidth to employ critical thinking (I don't mean that in a judgmental sense - merely an observational one), and there's always the possibility of becoming a Cassandra type figure when you do, then you're socially ostracized whether you're right or not. I think it's more realistic in the Emperor's New Clothes to think the kid was taken aside, beaten and exiled than it is to think he changed everyone's mind about what was really going on. On a personal level I'm completely full of shit in real life settings. It's amazing the amount of far out bullshit people will buy simply because I say it with a straight face. I'm not even trying to lie. I'm saying something outlandish and then I'm astonished someone believes it. Most of the time my reaction is to double down and see how far I can take it.

2 lines of throwaway dialogue to explain some implausible shit so they can make a 70 minute episode make sense and it wasn't even that good.

I mean Tiffany explained that she really has no family except the Berzattos and all the people they are "related" to. Her own mother didn't bother coming to the wedding. But it is amusing what you guys get annoyed with. And again, more Sydney.
-
Thanks. I'll try that next. Waited 2 hours today.

My dad had a pretty varied library of LP’s when I was young. We heard a lot of things. Lots of classics. “In The Hall of the Mountain King” was a frequent listen. He always included a heavy dose of Herb Alpert. My brother and me stared at one particular album cover more than all of the other album covers combined.

Y'all boys were good luck. I don't care if it was a home series. 2 of 3 against the Dodgers is great! -
I’ve never heard of this Nigel fellow, but I’ve heard of Hillsong. Good to see they are using high quality instruments to praise the creator of our universe and savior of all mankind. 👊

And I can cross Million Dollar Highway off my bucket list. At least once my knuckles unclench from the steering wheel -
when i get divorced, i'm going to get remarried, and the bulk of my invite list is going to be my ex's extended family, including a bunch of "cousins" and "uncles" who aren't actually related to me or my ex. i don't know why that bothered me so much, but it did. they should've had her be the actual cousin and richie be the cousin-thru-marriage, who isn't a real cousin anymore. would've made more sense. also the cliffhanger of will/won't sydney take the other job lasted about 10 episodes too long.

Everything about Trump is infuriating, but it especially pisses me off that he got both ABC and CBS to settle with him over things that were basically true, and meanwhile he spews obviously false nonsense all over the internet on a daily basis. Things that are verifiably incorrect, yet no is able to make him stop vomiting lies.

Any updates? Thinking about heading to Belize with the wife for our next July anniversary. Anything about places to stay, vehicles to rent, and restaurants would be much appreciated. She's bilingual and I can understand enough to get around, although most people seem to switch to English as soon as they hear me open my mouth. In the meantime, going to reread this thread for thrillsies.

I miss Major Harsin and his run-differential rankings.

Oh, hell no. Our King Sooper's is ass. Well, half of it is.

Completely stupid, but they were satirizing LIV.

Phantom Island just did an episode about this, but coming from the angle of asking if the days of the workaholic coach are falling into the past. With the context we have, it does seem relatively easier to find people who are good at eval, people who are good at gameplan/scheme, people who are good at talent acquisition, and people who are good at talent maximization versus finding 11-15 unicorns who are great at all areas. I'd still pay good money to hear the unvarnished truth about what happend with Thad Turnipseed and the AD's office. It can't have been as simple as "he wanted to build a new basketball arena and they refocused fundraising on NIL."
