More neurosis ("firing up the swoopes smoker for a second brisket" is kind of funny, though)

Texas is "all in on generating momentum". So.... we're recruiting, then?

tu is all about appearances. Even the ol' skag picked up on that pretty fast. We're about appearances. They're about good ol' bedrock reality.

I mean, tu went as far as to win a national championship 15 years ago just for the sake of appearances. You'll never see A&M do that. Ever.

Why live in the past when you can just make yourself a trophy for a make-believe championship you'll win some time in the next 82 years?

Brooks will wind up being a borderline 5 star but he’s not a top 15 in-state player for Liucci. Same for Stewart not being good enough to be a top 10 guy. Hell, ATM has a decent shot at getting Brooks.

This is a loaded in-state class and he has Donovan Green at number 10. He’s not even the best player on his team. Might be the best shittalker on his team, but not the best player.

VIP Intel: The latest on where A&M stands with key 2022 targetsVIP

Andrew Hattersley

With National Signing Day in the rearview mirror, the focus now turns to the 2022 class with a couple of battles already brewing. Here is the latest on what we are hearing with a number of key in-state targets.

-Beginning with Beaumont West Brook defensive back Bryce Anderson. When Anderson first decommitted from LSU last month, Texas A&M generated quite a bit of buzz as the early favorite and the Aggies are still pushing hard to land a commitment from the national top-100 prospect. Texas has certainly generated a lot of momentum as well though with safeties coach Blake Gideon and cornerbacks Terry Joseph in daily contact with Anderson. The Longhorns also received a boost after Anderson’s cousin, Jaydon Blue, committed to Texas the day before National Signing Day. This is shaping up to be a battle between A&M and Texas and while Anderson currently plans to decide this summer, it would not be surprising to see him decide before that.

-Another key target in the secondary for the Aggies is five-star corner Denver Harris. While LSU and Ohio State have been mentioned, the latest intel we’ve received is this is going to come down to a battle between A&M and Texas as well for the elite Houston back. There is no current timetable for a decision, but A&M has put themselves right in the mix for the elite defensive back.

-Staying in the greater Houston Area, A&M is off to a good start along the offensive line with commitments from PJ Williams and Hunter Erb. The latest intel we’ve heard has A&M in a good spot with Dewberry, but Texas has been pushing hard to land the four-star offensive tackle as well. Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma are also very much in the mix for Dewberry as this is shaping up to be a tough battle for one of the top offensive linemen in the state.

-Another coveted target in the Houston area is national top-40 prospect Kelvin Banks. The elite offensive lineman recently spoke with 247Sports and said Texas, LSU, Oregon, Texas A&M, Alabama, Oklahoma and Arkansas are a few of the schools that are recruiting him the hardest right now. A&M has put themselves in a good spot in this recruitment but the latest intel we’ve received suggests there is a long way to go in this recruitment with Banks potentially looking to wait until the Under Armour All-American Game in January before making a decision.

-Moving over to the DFW area, A&M remains in the mix for Garland safety Chace Biddle but the latest intel suggests Oklahoma holds the edge for Biddle right now. Working in Oklahoma’s favor is that the Sooners already hold a commitment from his close friend Jordan Hudson and the Sooners have certainly been making a strong push as of late for him. There is no timeline for a decision as of right now as I think Biddle would like to get out and take some visits likely to College Station, Norman and Alabama as well.

-Sticking in the DFW area, A&M has also shown plenty of interest in Rockwall Heath wideout Jay Fair. Speaking with sources close to Fair, the Aggies are definitely a school that he is high on as he works through his options with Florida, Georgia, TCU and others in the mix. Ideally, Fair would like to have a decision made by the time his senior year rolls around, although as with everything right now the timeline is likely somewhat dependent on when prospects will be able to take visits. Staying close to home certainly makes A&M an appealing option for Fair as he heads into the spring

Not as much boasting and fandom in that article as ones of late. Aggy mods don’t hedge like this unless bad news is coming on some of these. Perroni was adamant about aggy and his pick of Anderson to them but now has been silent of late and they have hattersley slowing walking them back from the ledge.
