  6. Umm, “someone” like Netflix? What the fuck are you talking about? Netflix distributes films and documentaries created by outside production companies as well as creating in house content, and they pay a shitload for it. The reason? it costs money to produce content. Furthermore, Netflix is not owned and operated by aggy boosters. Taylor Hamm talked about Hornsby sitting in on fucking storyboard sessions. That is a fucking service, and Hornsby is getting a benefit from it. And no, you are not a “media company” just because you say you are. If that’s the case, then Surly is a media company and we are all writers and reporters. The reality is, booster owned businesses “donating” the service of conceptualizing, filming, editing, post-producing, color correcting, sound mixing, mastering and uploading videos for high school football players is not some sort of gray area. It is a violation, plain and simple. It is no different than “donating” transportation, or your expertise with test taking, or maybe you want to “donate” your chef skills and in-house pantry to a coveted recruit and provide them with a 4 course meal? Being a media company, that would all be totally cool, right?

  7. It’s really not even worth discussing but the republicans rush to confirm this asshole should in history for all time be compared to their delay of even giving Merrick Garland, an actual decent human being a/k/a a not a piece of shit, a cowardly act where they even refused to even going on record with a vote. This should forever put them in the shithole category formerly reserved for other pieces of shit in American History like Benedict Arnold, Nazi sympathizers, etc. It’s really who they are and history will judge them, and their sychopants on this board, accordingly. Fuck em.

  14. The fact is that she didn't sit on it. She sent it to the White House, which sent it to Senate Republicans. That's how Grassley was able to produce a letter from 60-something women who knew Kavanaugh in high school within 18 hours of the allegations becoming public. The Republicans have known about this for months. They've sat on it just as much as anyone.

  15. Or....and here's something to ponder....maybe she is telling the truth, and we'll never know one way or the other because there will be no way to solidly prove or disprove her allegation? You're bad at decision trees. Here are the possibilities: 1 -- she is telling the truth, and it ends up being corroborated by third parties (e.g., someone else who was at the party who saw/heard what happen at the time, or someone she credibly reported it to well before Kavanaugh became a political figure, comes forward to tell their story). 2 -- she is telling the truth, but because it was so long ago, nobody can corroborate it, so it remains a strictly she-said vs. he-said matter. 3 -- she is lying. You have concluded, without any gray, that it's possibility 3. In fact, you have concluded that 1) she is lying, and 2), she is mentally ill. That's some pretty fucked up shit. I mean, seriously fucked up shit. And we wonder why women hesitate to EVER come forward with allegations of assault? How about we do the rational and sane thing, and withhold judgment -- of either her or Kavanaugh on this matter -- until the allegation and information around it is explored? Maybe she's lying. Maybe she's telling the absolute truth, but because it happened behind closed doors, nobody can back her up. Maybe other folks will come forward with evidence that tends to corroborate her story. I have no idea what will happen. But I sure as shit know that today, I don't have enough information to call one person a rapist OR to call the other person a mentally ill liar. You are letting your desired outcome dictate your predicate conclusions. And you do so in a way that ends up being nakedly and shamelessly misogynist and cruel. Pretty smooth.

  16. Wilbur Ross is like Montgomery Burns come to life with his adherence to antiquated ideas. I swear one of these days he is going to defend the tarrifs on Fox News by saying, "I'll tell you the same thing me and my old boarding school chum Reed Smoot told that Quaker Herbert Hoover, 'opposition to protectionism is sign of support for the King of Prussia' and it was. We kept the Prussians in their place until that Bolshevik Roosevelt took office."

  17. Everyone is turning on Hamm. Hamm, I know you're reading this. Now's the time to come to Jesus, lets air all of Texags dirty laundry, mee-maw's shriveled up ovaries that were left out on the table overnight, the cash payouts to recruits and players from aggy coaches.....let it all out here on Surly. We'll go to bat for you, we've got the resources you need to get you back on top. Say it with me, hello six figure payout, hello respect and admiration from the recruiting world. It can all be yours. Embrace the Surly. Be the Surly. Like Ty Webb once said, "me winning isn't. You do."

  18. It’s more important to me on this thread because he is a 2020 guy, than on the Hamm thread because it is Hamm, but on Monday, Demas really was going to recommit. He made the mistake of telling Hamm this and Hamm went and pulled a conference call together with Footwork King, Damiyeune The Bagman Craig, the North Forest coaches and Demas, basically shaming and cajoling Demas not to decommit. So, yeah, that doesn’t sound good for Demas sticking with aggie. It also highlights how far and low Hamm will go to keep guys in ATM’s corner, basically violating every rule, NCAA or recruiting industry, in order to steer players. It also shows the depths of his outright lies when he posts about his view of what is going on. This comes from someone that stumblefuck Hamm talked to about it, attempting to explain how much he bleeds for the aggies. I’m open to going after this guy with a work-up compiled and delivered to the NCAA. He’s corrupt and ATM is benefitting. In truth, every player he’s talking to should be ruled off limits for the aggies to sign.

  29. Those were your great-great-grandmother's hourly rates for sex with the Yale football club back in the day. The good-looking offensive captain was only charged a quarter, the athletic running back was charged a half-dollar, and the burly fullback was charged an entire dollar. Unsatisfactory performance from your great-great granny often led to a player asking for his "quarter back", etc. and the terms were born that way.

  32. Apparently, Shephard got into a physical altercation with a coach during spring work, with $9.95ers present, none of whom had the nads to even allude to it publicly. Fast forward to this fall and he's done something similar again. The bust factor on this guy is sky fucking high. I'm of the opinion from here forward that Texas is better off without him, and wherever he does wind up, they're going to regret it.

  34. If you want to play LSU and Arkansas, it makes more sense to join the SEC West. As discussed, bring OU and OSU with you, and Mizzou can join the Big 10 with KU. Yeah, fuck aggy, but UT-aggy should be played again anyway. I would support this plan out of self-preservation, if nothing else. I maintain that the Big XII should add BYU and CSU and enter into a scheduling and media agreement with the PAC 12. Each team plays 8 conference games (5 intra-division round robin, 3 cross-division) and two cross-conference games (one home one away each year). That leaves two open dates for permanent rivalries and G-5/FBS opponents. Big 12 teams would only likely face one potential PST game (with possible very late kickoff). Both sides would enjoy a SOS boost and each get exposure in broader territory. The PAC12 Network can become the Big-Pac Network or the Western College Sports Network or whatever. Each school would be entitled to keep their Tier 3 rights and go their own way. The network will be for those who want to opt in, and it can include coaches shows and other stuff from everyone.

  35. My csb/ A coworker of mine is a Nebraska grad. And of course, he was talking mad shit and laughing back when we lost to Kansas (damn you Charlie!) and also ran his mouth when we lost to Maryland this season. Long story short, on Monday I went into the office and said, "Well, Scott Frost is off to a good start eh?" He tells me how we barely beat Tulsa. My rebuttal, "at least we beat them, you can't give us shit about losing to Maryland or barely beating Tulsa when y'all lost at home to NIU last year and to Troy this year. You mother fuckers lost to a Sun Belt school. Fuck you and fuck corn aggy." He's been quiet since. Music to my ears.

  37. And we wonder why women don't come forward more often. If they do in high profile cases like this, they may be subjected to an 'invitation' to be questioned by a bunch of men up on a platform looking down at them asking them intrusive questions about a painful and vulnerable time in their life with no interest in the search for truth. As for the "timing" issue - she went to visit her Rep (Eshoo) when BK was nominated to tell her what happened. They talked it over and Ford decided to write a letter but wanted anonymity. She doesn't want to fucking testify or fight to score political points. Naive, yes. But doesn't mean she has to testify for her account to be true. Also, the R's don't really give a shit about BK and his reputation or career. They want that majority ASAP. BK is expendable. Also he would just go back to his current judgeship and remain connected and affluent.
