  5. My favorite Corso story was how every many years ago that Andy Dalton and TCU played at the Rose Bowl, my wife (who had been a Tournament of Roses volunteer for years) was assigned to the TCU marching band. They were at a function at the Langham Hotel and she runs into Corso. She goes on to tell him what a big fan she is of his. Then says "Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies." Corso looks at her in bewilderment. Yes, she thought he was Mel Brooks. Guess this should go in the stupid wives thread.

  8. This. And as for Onboard's preferred economic approach -- I generally share that. But here's what I realized about the GOP -- not only are they NOT in favor of what we thought they were....when they are allowed to implement their economic preferences, they choose poison. The facts are quite clear -- the party of exploding deficits? The GOP. The party of protectionism (by the way, some of the worst kind, favoring the wealthy instead of the middle class)? The GOP. The party of paying government dollars to people to make up for the impact of stupid gov't policies (see -- farmers today)? The GOP. The party of using stimulus (tax cuts and the like) solely for political gain, as opposed to our long-term economic well-being (that is, as a tool to help when we need financial recovery, like the looming recession)? The GOP. The party of "trickle down," saying -- despite years upon years of clear evidence to the contrary -- "this time it will work!"? The GOP. It's as if the GOP SAID that they offer us the finest dry-aged steak dinner. When the hamburger shows up, their supporters wolf it down and say "good enough." Lift up the fucking bun. That's not a burger. It's a shit sandwich, and it's making us all sick. The GOP's economic policies aren't just "not steak." They're fucking poison. Stop listening to their advertising. Lift up the bun and look at what they ACTUALLY serve us. And -- this is the important part -- throw it back at them in their fucking face.

  16. I can see writing is not your strong suit. You insinuate Clinton had a closer relationship with Epstein than Trump and then try to go back and qualify it, claiming there is evidence Clinton rode on Epstein's plane more than Trump. It wouldn't shock me if both Clinton and Trump were fucking kids. Others here who have lambasted Trump have said the same contending they both need to be put away (or worse) if found guilty. So your "denial that a dem can any wrong" is the same cultist projection we've all come to expect from a supporter of a guy who can shoot someone on 5th Avenue and still rely on your robotic support. *cue the denial* Between the 2, only one has been accused via 2 sworn, corroborating affidavits given under penalty of perjury that he violently raped a 13 year old girl and threatened her life if she told at one of Epstein's pedo parties. It's the same one seen on a 1992 video partying with Epstein and young girls. The same one who according to Mark Epstein, Jeffrey's brother, were more than just acquaintances, but "good friends" for decades, adding "I know [Trump] is trying to distance himself, but they were". Perhaps that would explain why Epstein had 14 contact phone numbers for Trump. Maybe it would shed light on how one of the attorneys that let Epstein off the first time with a slap on the wrist became Trump's Labor Secretary or why Bill Barr's dad hired him to teach a math course that he parlayed into being a billionaire money manager with one known client. Again, it wouldn't surprise me if they both were busted fucking kids. If so, I think they should both go to prison. What do you think should happen to them, smax?

  20. Let's break down these talking points - because that's all they are, talking points. As many have noted, we already have it. We have free healthcare for every single human being in this country, even a Polish tourist who falls and hits his head waiting in line for tickets to a show. It's called the ER. And it is heavily utilized, and is the most expensive portal for healthcare. How to resolve this supposed problem? 1 -- meaningful immigration reform, so that we dramatically reduce "illegal" immigration (the ways to do this are myriad, and have been discussed on this board for years - all of which include taxing the folks who are here doing immigrant labor). 2 -- provide general universal healthcare to all, so that the most expensive path (the ER) is not the path that Jorge the construction worker needs to take when he has an infection. So, this is an absurd talking point. How on earth can we EVER do something that.....we pretty much had not that long ago? 30 years ago, you could fully cover your costs of attendance at UT by working a summer job, and 16 hours during the week. If we just got back to THAT level of cost, that would be pretty close to free, practically speaking. WE USED TO HAVE THIS. IT'S NOT A FANTASY. Nevermind that community colleges are a good model on how to get there. Nobody of any import is talking about having the government write $50k a year in tuition checks to Georgetown. They're talking about a RETURN of college affordability, including having some options that are zero tuition or close to it. So, this is an absurd talking point. This is just fucking made up. Sure, there's a radical La Raza guy out there who says "no more borders." But in terms of realistic policy discussion, nobody is proposing "more porous borders." Your problem is that you believe whatever your pre-selected Gods tell you. Hannity says it, it's true. The GOP says they're the party of fiscal responsibility, it's true. But the facts and data....well, those are a bitch, aren't they? Look at a chart of federal deficit as a percentage of GDP. Compare that to presidential administrations and the party makeup of Congress at the time. Your Gods are pretty shitty Gods. And the party you loathe has a much better track record. But by all means, continue to believe Hannity over facts. That's been working out BRILLIANTLY so far.

  21. What do the sips sell? Well, a better school, program, degree and town. A blue blood. A head coach who drug his balls all over Jimbo’s face with UH two stars. Not having a coach who in year 7 with multiple top 5 classes got boat raced 35-3 by Boston fucking College. Not having our last top 4 finish be in the Eisenhower administration. What the fuck are you selling, aggy?

Riding shotgun in the car with Jimbo on the way home from the pool party as Jimbo ices his face and is visibly red with rage. Standing next to Katfid in a room full of black people as they make him pick which one is Tre Watson.

  36. Kudos to you for taking a huge first step. The problem with hitting rock bottom, at least with the alcoholics I know, both practicing and recovering, is that we tend to lie there and roll around in it for a few years before we sober up. By that point, our sense of self-worth is so battered that we know we've hit rock bottom, but doing something about it seems damn near impossible, and the idea of connecting with a bunch of preachy strangers is nauseating, and who is this alleged god?, and I can just drink through this weekend, really tie one on in a saying goodbye kind of way, then I'll try a meeting on Monday, start a new week off with a new lifestyle, and when that doesn't work I can just make it September 1st, start a new month off right, and eventually it can become my New Year's resolution, and you know what, it doesn't really even matter if I sober up anyway - my life has gotten so small and isolated and insulated that who would even notice? And I like drinking. Who's to say it's even wrong? Everyone drinks or smokes pot or takes Prozac or Valium or goes to church. Everybody's hooked on something. You need a crutch to get through this. So why should I... Etc... If you can quit before your mind starts thinking that way, and you can, you'll be saving yourself and those who care about you a lot of hurt. Best of luck to you. It's a hard road back, but there's a lot of help along the way.

  43. Nope. I was talking about your wink and nod to Bubba somehow being more likely to be involved in the Epstein cover up than Trump. Let's review what you were responding to: Ted posts a tweet that provides speculation that Trump may have visited Epstein's Florida home in December 2017, and you respond with a gratuitous deflection toward Clinton. Given recent events, this would imply you suspect he had closer recent ties to Epstein and would be a more likely culprit. Then, Roma mocks your Pavlovian response to the tweets about Trump. You responded to Roma with some vague nod to an ill-defined "reality" which I interpreted to mean you actually do think the Clintons are involved in the cover-up. And I called it your "wetdream fantasy" which is entirely appropriate, given your impulsive finger-pointing toward those omnipotent Clintons without any supporting evidence.

  44. Even referring to this should be an impeachable offense for both parties. It is completely unthinkable that any other President would do anything like this, let alone repeatedly. By referring to how other people will react, he is minimizing his own completely inappropriate behavior. He's not joking, he's incapable of joking in the sense that most people do. He's shifting the Overton Window, normalizing what should be a revolting idea to any patriotic American.

  45. This is one of the more bizarre cyberbawling episodes I’ve seen in a while. I didn’t send the guy hate mail. I didn’t angry twitterbomb him. I didn’t light a bag of poo on fire on his doorstep. I opined that he looks like an entitled pussy. He was born rich and he was coddled. His dad has admitted as much but the mom is ... well ... the mom. The premise that there’s any real sign here of a mental issue is fucking silliness. He was viewed as entitled and pompous by teammates at Texas. He wasn’t shy, holed up in his room all semester, having paranoid seizures about all of the monsters in his head. He missed mom and his girlfriend, so mommy told him to come home. He was mad that Tom Herman wasn’t buddies with him and complained in a pleading manner to other teammates. He actually impacted Whittington for a bit with that bullshit. LMFAO with you guys white knighting for this clown. I understand mental illness is a real thing in this world, but you fucking guys don’t even know that he’s skipping practice. He might have a bad case of turf burn and he’s sitting out. He’s a thunder douche quitter until proven otherwise at this point. Also, he’s not a “kid”. He’s an adult who has contemporaries dying for their country right now. I was raising a kid at his age. Many others do as well. Others are working in plants or laying concrete or digging ditches. He’s not a fucking “kid” and that bullshit is part of his problem. You sound like a bunch of snowflake enablers. Bru McCoy doesn’t even need to show up to get it all handed to him by the likes of people bemoaning his sweet needs on this thread. Well, the rest of us do, so fuck him and fuck you too.
